Are Healings and Miracles Still For Today?

I was blessed when I first came across this video and I am sure that you will be too. It covers the personal testimony of Sandi, an American Christian missionary, and her experiences while spreading the Gospel. She shares her personal stories and those of her friends who have witnessed wonderful healings like goiters disappearing before her eyes, pains of every kind being healed, those paralyzed being able to walk again, the deaf hearing and many more. Nevertheless, there are some Christians today, who may believe that healing and miracles by God have ceased, this belief cannot be further from the truth. God still heals and will continue to do so, because the Bible explains that these miracles serve as His “seal of approval” in a sense for those who put their trust in Jesus Christ:

Hebrews 2:3-4
How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?

Yes, God uses these miracles to demonstrate His power (John 9:2, 3) or as a sign to comfort and reassure those who are receiving the Gospel message for the very first time (John 14:11). It is God’s will that all men would be saved (John 3:16) and as such He will understandably use any means at His disposal and will use anyone available, like Sandi in this video, to carry out His will:

2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

1 Timothy 2:3, 4
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Our Heavenly Father never changes (Malachi 3:6; Hebrews 13:8; James 1:17) and as 2 Peter 3:9 says He is not slack concerning His promises and will continue to use miracles. There is even evidence that angels are still quite active in Christendom. In fact, there are more scriptures supporting that healings has, still and will continue to occur contrary to what some may believe.

Ephesians 4:10-13
He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

Ephesians 4:10 echoes the same point that I made earlier, that God remains the same, while Ephesians 4:11-13 specifically prove my point that healings still occur today. The above scriptures show that the five-fold ministry (apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers) that was established by God will remain on the Earth for the sake of the salvation of souls and our spiritual growth until we all come to the “unity of the faith” and “the knowledge of the Son of God” which will lead each of us to become “a perfect man” as the verse puts it. Last time I checked, Christendom was still divided, due to man-made traditions and incorrect interpretations of the scriptures. To make matters worse, the Gospel is still in the process of being preached to all the corners of the world. So, it is clear that healings, miracles and the works of the Holy Spirit will continue until we meet this fulfillment outlined in Ephesians 4:13 which I strongly believe will only occur during the millennial reign of Jesus Christ as this verse about the millennial reign suggests:

Isaiah 11:9
They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

Church of Tares: Purpose Driven, Seeker Sensitive, Church Growth & New World Order

This is an eye-opening film produced by Elliott Nesch of Holy Bible Prophecy Ministry. He exposes many of the false teachers that are in our churches, like Robert Schuller, Rick Warren, Bill Hybels and others, who use marketing and business practices to fill up church seats and develop mega-churches instead of focusing on preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. You will learn the startling fact that many of these mega-churches see their church members as nothing more but assets rather than actual people and how these pastors lead their church ministries like businesses.

joel osteen house

The interesting thing about all of this is that the Bible points out to us that history repeats itself:

Ecclesiastes 1:9
The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.

As such, it should be no surprise to us that the marketing and business practices in many churches today was happening in Jesus’ day with the money changers of the temple:

Matthew 21:12, 13
And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,
And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.

meyercompound (1)
Now if Jesus was enraged when such practices were done in the temple back then, how can we possibly expect the Lord to be pleased with that now; how can we imagine God to be pleased with this!:

1 Timothy 6:10
For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

It is sad that the Church is filled with these unbiblical prosperity teachings when Jesus invites us to simply seek first the kingdom of God and its righteousness (Matthew 6:33). God is after the souls of mankind above all else, He will grant our material needs after we are saved, according to His will:

1 Timothy 2:3, 4
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Luke 12:29-31
And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Philippians 4:6, 7
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

The Bible warns us that there will be a rise of greed and corruption within the world and His Church. Sound doctrines will be ignored and will be supplanted by a gospel of selfishness, hope and emphasis on oneself (2 Timothy 4:3). We must be watchful now more than ever and flee from such teachings and teachers! One needs to go no further than surfing through the host of Christian television programs to find several bible teachers preaching on hope, love, grace, health and wealth instead of focusing on the gospel of Jesus Christ and the saving of souls:

2 Timothy 3:1-5
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Proverbs 11:30
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

True salvation comes from preaching the entire gospel, not bits and pieces of it, which some bible teachers tend to do. I used to listen to those preachers and was once a very complacent, lukewarm Christian, but do not be mistaken, many of these bible teachers have helpful things to say but it is all meaningless if one does not know God, does not understand His plan of salvation and His desire for us to live holy lives in obedience to Him. It was only when I dedicated myself to study the Word of God myself and to listen to preachers who taught the whole counsel of God: heaven, hell, the penalty and punishment for sin, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, copeland1the importance of holiness and God’s plan of salvation, that I had a genuine appreciation for the gospel and became truly born again. I can truly testify that the gospel truth can set us free!:

John 8:32
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

2 Corinthians 3:17
Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

The Cross Hidden in the Old Testament

Above in this video Dr. Chuck Missler shows what might be one of the most amazing appearances of the Cross of Jesus Christ in the Old Testament. The Cross appears hidden within the Book of Numbers Chapter 2, centuries before the punishment of the crucifixion was even invented!

Numbers 24:5
How goodly are thy tents, O Jacob, and thy tabernacles, O Israel!

John 5:39
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

Proverbs 25:2
It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

The verses below contain descriptions of the four beings around God’s throne which Dr. Chuck Missler mentions in the above video:

Ezekiel 1:10-11
As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle.
Thus were their faces: and their wings were stretched upward; two wings of every one were joined one to another, and two covered their bodies.

Isaiah 6:1-3
In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.
Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.
And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

Revelation 4:6-8
And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.
And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.
And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.

four living creatures

If you are wondering about the profiles for the Gospels that Chuck mentions, they may be interpreted as follows:

1) Matthew presents Jesus as the Messiah, the King and begins with Abraham’s genealogy and presents Jesus as the “Lion” of the Tribe of Judah.

2) Mark presents Jesus as a servant, the one who will bear the sins of the world. A servant’s genealogy is considered to have no importance and hence none is given by Mark. Therefore he describes Jesus in a way to the “Ox” of Ephraim.

3) Luke presents Jesus as the Son of Man, an Old Testament term for the Messiah found in Daniel 7:13-14, starts off with His genealogy through Adam and focuses on Jesus’ humanity. Likewise Jesus here is described in the form of the “Man” of Reuben.

4) Finally, John expresses Jesus as the Son of God, focuses on the miracles of Jesus and Jesus’ deity. John has no genealogy because God has no beginning. Hence, John’s gospel reveals Jesus as the “Eagle” of Dan.

Now, when we combine the Gospels we see that all of them describe Jesus from four different perspectives with Jesus at the very heart of the four Gospels, identical to the arrangement of the four beings around God’s throne in Heaven. I hope this message blessed you!

The Gospel Message Hidden Within The Genealogy of Adam

The video above is a must see bible study on the Gospel message that is tucked away within the names of the first 10 men of Adam’s genealogy. I encourage you all to please share this message to all your loved ones and especially your unbelieving friends and family.  People may believe it is strange that God would choose to hide these messages in the Bible. I will gladly reassure you that it is absolutely biblical for Him to work in this way, in fact, Jesus encourages us all to look for these things:

John 5:39
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

Proverbs 25:2
It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

This is the Gospel Message hidden in Genesis 5:

Man (is)>Appointed>Mortal>Sorrow; (but)>The Blessed God>Shall Come Down>Teaching>His Death Shall Bring>The Despairing>Comfort; Rest

I do hope this video blesses you all! God Bless you!
