Gods of The New Age

The documentary above was produced by Jeremiah Films. It explores the world of the Hindu spiritual leaders, called gurus, who claim to be gods. It chronicles the lives of these so-called god-men and their followers here in the West. This film examines the real roots of the New Age, which is eastern mysticism, and shows the movement exactly as it truly is, Hinduism, which is repackaged in a convenient, user-friendly way to be received openly by westerners. The film also exposes startling dark secrets, hypocrisy and evil teachings that these men feed their followers.

The late guru, Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the same man who is shown in the picture above on the golden throne, is just one of many gurus who claim to be a god, he once said, “My power is immeasurable; My truth inexplicable, unfathomable,” he obviously ascribed God-like attributes to himself like omnipotence, omniscience and omnipresence. What does the Bible have to say concerning these comments? What about the other teachings from gurus like Sri Sathya Sai Baba, who claim that we are all gods? This post hopes to explore what the Bible has to say about such statements:

1) There is only one God
2) There is only one Lord
3) God is separate from His creation
4) Are we all gods?
5) We are not to worship idols and images, nor  participate in visualization techniques
6) The wisdom of man means nothing to God
7) There is nothing good in mankind
8) God condemns saying Mantras and Repetitive Prayers
9) God condemns Eastern Meditation and Prana
10) Yoga is not biblical and is dangerous!
11) We are not to explore magical powers like reiki, kundalini power, tantra and siddhis
12) All roads do not lead to God
13) We are to help those suffering, the poor and the sick
14) God does not endorse Vegetarianism or Veganism
15) Reincarnation is not biblical
16) False science is being used to support New Age and Hinduism
17) The Power of Positive Thinking and the Law of Attraction
18) Is Astral Projection Biblical?
19) Personal Spiritual Experience Vs. Written Spiritual Message from the Bible
20) What does the Bible have say about spirit guides and ascended masters?

1) There is only one God

The Bible makes no mention of there being a host of gods in Heaven or Earth, but clearly teaches that there is only one God, who is the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth:

Deuteronomy 4:35, 39
Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that the LORD he is God; there is none else beside him.
Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the LORD he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.

Deuteronomy 32:39
See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.

1 Kings 8:60
That all the people of the earth may know that the LORD is God, and that there is none else.

The God of the Bible is one God, however, the Bible does hints that God is a collection of three unique beings in one. This concept is known as the Trinity, one God existing in the three persons, who the Bible identifies as being the Heavenly Father, His Son Jesus and the Holy Spirit:

1 John 5:7
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word (Jesus), and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

In Hinduism there is a Trimurti, which is three distinct beings who independently act as gods – Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, though they may be similar to the biblical Trinity, the most fundamental difference is that the persons of the Trimurti and the other Hindu gods had their own beginnings. The God of the Bible, the Trinity, has no beginning:

Colossians 1:16, 17
For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

2) There is only one Lord

The Bible makes it clear that there is one Lord; not many! As such the claim made by these gurus, that they are our Lords, has no merit through the lens of the scriptures:

1 Corinthians 8:5, 6
For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)
But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

1 Timothy 2:5
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.

The Bible teaches that Jesus is the only way to God. The gurus claim to be wise leaders while the Bible places Jesus in a league of His own as being “Counsellor,” “The mighty God” and “The Prince of Peace”:

John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a child (Jesus Christ) is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Jesus Christ is our Guide, He is the Truth, not Sri Sathya Sai Baba, not  Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh or any other man who claims to be God. Matthew 6:24 tells us that, “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” This “mammon” refers to wealth, prosperity, all that the god of this world has to offer and the definition can be extended to mean all the things that the gods of this world and the gurus have to offer. As humans we need to make the choice will we serve God or men? We can’t attempt to serve both, the Bible makes it clear that a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways (James 1:8). If you presently follow a guru or religious leader of any kind, you must choose to obey God instead of that person:

Acts 5:29
Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

3) God is separate from His creation

While the Bible does suggests that God is omnipresent as in the following verse:

Psalms 139:7-8
Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

The Bible clearly distinguishes Him as being separate from His creation. This view is contrary to what Hindus believe, which is pantheism, they believe that God is one with His creation and the creation itself is the manifestation of God, on the other hand, the New Age teaches that God indwells all of His creation which is termed panentheism. Both Hinduism and the New Age religion describes God as an impersonal being, similar to “the force” from Star Wars, while the Bible takes the stance of Him being a distinct personal being. The Bible clarifies this distinction in a number of ways, first and foremost God is described as the Creator of the Universe:

Genesis 1:1, 2
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

The above verse alone shows the clear distinction between God and the creation (Heaven and Earth) and right away discredits the view of pantheism. With respect to panentheism, this may be tricky as the Bible does suggest that God can indwell His creation, but I will show you that He does not indwell ALL of His creation:

Isaiah 57:15
For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

Above we learn that God is described as dwelling in two places, so He does have a measure of locality in spite of His omnipresence. He dwells in Heaven and with the repentant and humble person who believes in Him. Of course, this verse implies that God does not indwell those who do not repent of their sins and/or are filled with pride, so in a sense this rejects the panentheistic view. If this verse is not sufficient you may consider what Jesus Himself has to say about the matter:

John 14:23
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

From the lips of Jesus Christ Himself, we learn that God selectively chooses who He indwells and more importantly indwells those who obey His commands, recorded in the Bible. The Bible also suggests that the Earth was not designed for God but for men and the rest of the physical living creation. The Bible says:

Isaiah 45:18
For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

God’s Word also describes God as preserving the Creation as suggested by Psalms 36:6, “Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast” and in many other scriptures (Acts 17:28; Colossians 1:17; Hebrews 1:3). Jesus also infers that God is still active in His work by saying:

John 5:17
But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.

If God is omnipotent then why would He need to preserve Himself if the pantheistic view is to believed? To make matters worse the Bible describes Him as controlling the Universe (Ephesians 1:11; Job 37:3,4, 6, 10-13; Ps. 135:7; 104:14; Matt. 5:45; 6:26,30). All these points certainly shows that the God of the Bible is separate from His creation,  and selectively indwells the creation.

4) Are We all gods?

The short answer is that the Bible does not tell us that we are all gods. I imagine that right now the informed Christians, New Agers or Hindus would immediately object and say, “You’re wrong, yes it does! Jesus says it in John 10:34!” Well let’s see what Jesus says:

John 10:34
Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

Yes, He says “ye are gods” but before we jump to the conclusion that Jesus said we are gods, we must understand the context which He makes this statement. His remark was directed to the Pharisees, the Jewish religious leadership of His day. They confronted Jesus with the intent to stone Him after He declared that He was God, Jesus used “gods” to describe the Pharisees, they ought to be servants of God giving justice, and doing good deeds just as our Heavenly Father does. The “gods” is merely a title used to show that they are representatives of God on Earth to lead His people; to be just judges and magistrates in a sense. In fact this interpretation of Jesus words is valid, as what He said in John 10:34 was a quote from the “law” in Psalms 82:6:

Psalms 82:6
I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

In order to grasp the true meaning of that Psalm we need to understand the context and that is only understood by reading the verses just before Psalms 82:6:

Psalms 82:1-5
God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.
How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.
Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.
Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.
They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.

Above we see that God is acting as a Head Judge and that He has appointed servants to become judges and leaders in authority over the rest of mankind. Note well what the so-called gods are to be doing – they are to defend, serve justice, deliver the poor, and save people from the hands of the wicked. By these roles we now understand that these are not “gods,” in the sense that Hinduism and the gurus teach, but rather these are servants of God who are to submit themselves as servants for mankind. Nowhere does this Psalm adds attributes like omniscience, omnipresence or omnipotence to these so-called “gods,” therefore it is clear that these “gods” are only judges and leaders appointed by God, and this interpretation is the reasonable way to interpret this verse and what Jesus meant. Ironically, John 10:34 can be viewed as one of many proofs that Jesus is God, as He says “I said, Ye are gods?” when in the Psalms we see that it was God Almighty who made that statement. In any case, the Bible does not describe us as being divine; we are not gods, but there is actually someone who has made this statement in the Bible and wants us to believe that we are divine gods:

Genesis 3:5
For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

Yes, the serpent, Satan, in the Garden of Eden said this lie above in Genesis 3:5 and mankind has suffered greatly because Eve was deceived by this lie. Note well that this lie came from the snake, the well-respected, venerated symbol of wisdom and enlightenment in Hinduism and even in Islam. The Hinduism and New Age belief that we are all gods is an echo of the very same lie from the serpent in the Garden of Eden, as I made clear in point 1, there is only one God there was none before Him and most certainly no other gods to come after Him:

Isaiah 43:10
Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.

5) We are not to worship idols and images, nor participate in visualization techniques

The Bible warns us to stay away from idols and images of any kind, and any form, be it crafted metal, stone, or even those fabricated by the mind for visualization techniques:

1 John 5:21
Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.

Exodus 20:4
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

Leviticus 19:4
Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am the LORD your God.

Images steal focus away from the True God, such worship is meaningless even if directed to Him by those who call themselves Christians. God is a spirit and physical images can never accurately represent a non-physical being so making images of any kind is ultimately useless. God’s rule against idol worship even includes Christian idols like crosses, religious pictures and statues of Jesus Christ, all these idols do not please God. God appeared to the Israelites, during the desert wanderings after leaving Egypt, in the form of a pillar of fire at night and a cloud during the day and He discloses why He chose such forms in the verses below:

Deuteronomy 4:16-18
Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female,
The likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air,
The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth:

This is the depths of God’s distaste for idol and visualized worship, that He would go through the lengths of appearing in loose unfixed forms as fire and a cloud, for the express purpose of denying the onlookers the ability to create a fixed physical image or likeness to represent Himself. The Bible tells us that God is a Spirit and those  that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:24), so idol worship of any kind is vain to Him and His word says that He will not share His glory with any graven images:

Isaiah 42:8
I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

6) The Wisdom of Man means nothing to God

The Bible is exhaustive when it comes to this topic as it is one of the greatest flaws of mankind, man’s wisdom and desire for wisdom mingled with pride has been responsible for some of the greatest sins committed, like the fall of mankind at the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3), the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11:1-9), and the sordid behavior of men recorded throughout the book of Judges where “every man did that which was right in his own eyes (Judges 21:25).” God’s knowledge and wisdom is far above any wisdom and knowledge that man can ever attain:

Isaiah 55:8, 9
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

The wisdom of man is foolishness to God, and the same can be said about the wisdom of these gurus. We must never allow any of man’s philosophies get in our way from knowing Jesus Christ:

1 Corinthians 1:25
Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

1 Corinthians 3:19
For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

Colossians 2:8
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

God is all-knowing and His wisdom is limitless, why then should we lean on the understanding of men and those who claim to be gods who still bleed and die as common men. To accept His wisdom we must abandon our ways, repent of our sins and obey Him:

James 3:17
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

Proverbs 3:5-7
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

7) There is nothing good in mankind

The idea that we are gods has been a great hindrance for people to acknowledge their own imperfection. Humans are not inherently good, it does not take long for young toddlers to display selfishness and reluctance to share their toys with a sibling or friend their age. The Bible in my opinion is the only holy book which best explains where this inherent evil comes from. It explains that we have inherited this evil nature after the fall of mankind in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3).  The Bible has defined this shortcoming as “sin,” this “sin” is any action or the absence of action that makes us miss the goal of perfection. The Bible expands on this idea by stating:

Romans 3:23
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Psalms 39:5
Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah.

Proverbs 14:12
There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

In spite of these inherent flaws in mankind, many still hold on to the idea that mankind is inherently good and we have untapped potential in each of us. This is the thinking of New Agers and Hindus, that we are gods, gods are perfect, therefore we are perfect. Self Realization or Self Actualization, is dangerous as it ignores the inherent evils of mankind, if humanity was perfect there would be no crime, no sickness, no suffering, therefore it is absurd to claim that we are gods. Even the so-called gurus are accused of over-indulgence and sinful desires, the above film shows that gurus live in excess – owning jets, helicopters and several rolls-royces. In fact, Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh and many of his followers were arrested for running prostitution rings, drug smuggling, and even murder! You can learn more on Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh’s crimes in this article. This is certainly not the actions of a perfect god who is all-knowing and flawless, these gurus are nothing more than corrupt men, just as the rest of us. The Human Potential Movement is nothing more than a post-modern repackaged version of the idea of self actualization and is cleverly modernized with psychobabble.

How do we fix our flaws? We must first recognize that we are indeed sinners, we must repent of every one of our sins and turn to God, who is the only One who can transform us from  the inside out:

Ezekiel 36:25-27
Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

8) God condemns saying Mantras and Repetitive Prayers

Jesus, who claimed to be God in the flesh (John 1:1, 14), warns us to stay away from repetitive prayers:

Matthew 6:7
But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much of speaking.

He uses the term “vain repetitions,” here the word “vain” roughly means “meaningless” as I said in my last point “man is altogether vanity” (Psalms 39:5) and so too is his attempts to please God through devised means. God is Spirit and must be worshiped in Spirit and Truth (John 4:24), God cannot be called by us like some kind of butler by chanting the names of Hindu gods, or even using His own name as some members of the Emergent Church tend to do. The Roman Catholics pray the Rosary, a collection of prayers that is repeated several times, but God condemns such worship in Matthew 6:7. While Jesus does encourage us to continuously plead our desires to God, as He expressed in the Parable of the Persistent Widow found in Luke 18:1-8, we are not to use formulated rote prayers to seek answers from God. This is the same stance of Paul, who actually encouraged Timothy to stay away from vain repetition:

1 Timothy 6:20
O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:

9) God condemns Eastern Meditation and Prana

Eastern meditation invites practitioners to clear and empty their mind of all desires and thoughts, this is diametrically opposed to the definition of meditation as dictated by the Bible; we are to fill our thoughts with the scriptures, the Word of God:

Joshua 1:8
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Psalms 1:1-2
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

Psalms 119:97
O how I love thy law! It is my meditation all the day.

Chi and Prana are the energies of the universe which is allegedly absorbed within one’s body during meditation. I explained in point 3 that God is separate from His creation and He only indwells those who serve Him in truth so the energies that these practitioners claim to absorb can never be from God, I will talk more on the true source of these “energies” in point 20. God is the only source of life and gives life to those who seek Him:

John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

John 4:14
But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

Revelation 21:6, 22:1
And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

10) Yoga is not biblical and is dangerous!

The word “yoga” means “unity,” “to yoke” or “to join” and it was designed to join oneself with the Universal Spirit, the Cosmic Consciousness or Brahman. One can never strip the spiritual aspects of yoga from the physical exercises of yoga; they are one and the same. I explain more on what the Bible’s stance is on the topic of practicing yoga here. The short answer concerning God’s opinion of yoga and other man-made attempts at pleasing Him or other gods is revealed by the following scripture:

Deuteronomy 12:30-32
Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.
Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for every abomination to the LORD, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods.
What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

Top exorcist in the world, Father Gabriele Amorth, a roman catholic exorcist, from his own personal experiences admits that yoga in particular by its very nature acts as an open door for demonic possession. In fact Father Gabriele Amorth once said, “Practicing yoga brings evil as does reading Harry Potter. They may both seem innocuous but they both deal with magic and that leads to evil.” This is pretty much the same view expressed by those who were practitioners and former yoga teachers like Laurette Willis. Laurette Willis, who teaches a Christianized yoga despite what Deuteronomy 12:30-32 says, admits the fundamental differences between yoga and Biblical Christianity, “Yoga wants to get students to the point of complete numbness in their minds. God, on the other hand, wants you to be transformed by the renewing of your mind through his Word.” When asked concerning hatha yoga, the less spiritual but more physical yoga found in gyms, she says, “…there are commonly used words and poses antithetical to God’s Word. For example, the word ‘namaste,’ often said at the close of yoga classes, means, ‘I bow to the god within you.’ The sound ‘om,’ chanted in many yoga classes, is meant to bring students into a trance so they can join with the universal mind. And the ‘salute to the sun’ posture, used at the beginning of most classes, pays homage to the Hindu sun god.” Unfortunately, Laurette Willis supports her practice and teaching of “Christian Yoga” which you may understand by now is a complete oxymoron in God’s eyes. In fact, the most telling part of yoga is that it is even found in Islam, some of the prayers and religious gestures of Islam are analogous to known yoga poses. I wrote an article that shows how Allah is not the God of the Bible and this similarity is interesting, as it indicates that Allah is actually the same as the god that yoga hopes to unite its practitioners with, the Hindu god, Brahman. And no, I do not think I am stretching this comparison at all (pun intended).

Yoga in Islam

Allah and Brahma followers

Other than the spiritual dangers of yoga, there are many mental problems that may arise from its practice. I may not agree with psychology but even a broken clock is right twice a day, one of its founders, Carl Jung makes this remark in his book “Introduction to The Tibetan book of the Dead,” concerning yoga, “One often hears and reads about the dangers of Yoga, particularly of the ill-reputed Kundalini Yoga. The deliberately induced psychotic state, which in certain unstable individuals might easily lead to a real psychosis, is a danger that needs to be taken very seriously indeed. These things really are dangerous and ought not to be meddled with in our typically Western way. It is a meddling with Fate, which strikes at the very roots of human existence and can let loose a flood of sufferings of which no sane person ever dreamed. These sufferings correspond to the hellish torments of the chönyid state…” This film which opens my post explores more into the mental impacts of yoga as well as its spiritual effects.

Finally, one must consider the physical dangers of yoga. It is surprising that studies have shown a greater likelihood of having strokes, spinal issues and other health risks when one practices yoga. You may learn some of the startling physical risks that one may be taking by practicing yoga in a New York Times article here. Yoga is dangerous spiritually, physically and mentally and provides no worthwhile long term benefits to its practitioners.

11) We are not to explore magical powers like reiki, kundalini power, tantra and siddhis

The God of the Bible forbids any search for magic powers of any kind and discourages those who pursue such things:

Deuteronomy 18:10-12
There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

This includes activities that may seem “good” like reiki which allegedly channels energy for healing or white magic from Wicca used to benefit mankind. All these things are seen as an abomination to God. The so-called “good” that magic can bring into the world is still evil, just repackaged in a user-friendly guiltless manner to deceive others into a false security. This is surprisingly the same thinking of the founder of Satanism, Anton LaVey, who had this to say concerning the division of magic into white and black magic, “White magic is supposedly utilized only for good or unselfish purposes, and black magic, we are told, is used only for selfish or “evil” reasons. Satanism draws no such dividing line. Magic is magic, be it used to help or hinder. The Satanist, being the magician, should have the ability to decide what is just, and then apply the powers of magic to attain his goals. Nature, in her ineffable wisdom, wastes nothing. Seemingly useless but parasitic or destructive persons should be used like clay pigeons: for target practice.”

Leviticus 20:6, 7
And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.
Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God.

The Bible shows that there is no middle ground when it comes to practicing magic. This is a deception, fabricated by Satan, who presents two so-called opposing sides or dichotomy, white and black magic and convinces the followers of black magic that they are serving him while those of white magic are serving God. They are both evil, and Anton LaVey was well aware of this fact – that the satanists, Wiccans, the New Agers and false religions all serve the same god. This false dichotomy is not an absurd idea Vladimir Lenin believed that, “The best way to control the opposition is to lead it ourselves” and if this revolutionist learned this tactic in a few years, the evil spirits who had thousands of years of experience most certainly do and has already implemented this fake dichotomy skillfully to deceive both sides. Jesus tells us that a man cannot serve two masters, you either hate one and love the other (Matthew 6:24), the God of the Bible despises any exploration into magic or magick therefore by elimination the answer is clear, that even those followers of “good” magic are not serving the God who created the Universe but are serving the god of this world, Satan, the Devil.

2 Corinthians 4:3, 4
But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

12) All roads do not lead to God

The Bible is very clear that there is only one path to God. Jesus once said:

Matthew 7:13
Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.

This “wide” gate or road is the path that all the other world’s religions take and Jesus describes this “wide” path as the path to destruction. Jesus was never narrow-minded, He never taught that all roads lead to God but that there was two paths – one leading to God and another to destruction. With Himself being this “narrow” gate to life:

John 10:9
I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture.

John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

I explore more into this highly debated topic in another article, but the simple answer is that the Bible suggests that all roads do not lead to God.

13) We are to help those suffering, the poor and the sick

In Hinduism, it is almost a sin to help the sick and the poor. According to the teachings of Hinduism, the person suffering in that way is allegedly paying for the accumulation of bad Karma from the bad deeds done in their past lives. On the other hand, Jesus teaches His followers to help the poor and sick:

Matthew 5:42
Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.

Luke 3:10, 11
And the people asked him, saying, What shall we do then?
He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise.

John 13:34, 35
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

While some members of the New Age religion believe in helping the poor and sick, they do so in defiance of the laws of Karma and Reincarnation. Karma and Reincarnation are evil doctrines and I’ll show why. If a man was to beat his wife in this life, then he would be reincarnated as a woman who gets beaten by her husband in the next life, in turn her husband is reincarnated in his next life as a woman that is also beaten by her husband and so on and so on. So, the idea of helping the sick and destitute is completely incompatible with the fundamentalist view of Karma and Reincarnation as any assistance to the unfortunate merely prolongs their suffering. Karma and Reincarnation does not solve the problems in this world but merely perpetuates evil! Mahatma Gandhi once described reincarnation as “… a hopeless cycle of imprisonment,” and due to Reincarnation and Karma Hindus refuse to help their own which explains why India is in such financial  turmoil as it is now. The Bible makes it clear that you will recognize the nature of men or even religions by their fruit (Matthew 7:16-20) – a good tree can never give bad fruit and a bad tree cannot give good fruit, Hinduism and her offshoot religion, the New Age are not good trees because true and pure religions encourage others to help the sick and poor and live holy lives:

James 1:26, 27
If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

14) God does not endorse Vegetarianism or Veganism

In Hinduism there is the law of Ahimsa, which is the religious duty that restricts Hindus from harming living creatures, apart from this law Hindus become vegans and vegetarians for spiritual and health reasons and also in fear of accumulating bad Karma from killing and eating animals. God after creating the world declared that He has provided fruits, vegetables, herbs and seeds for the benefit of all animals and mankind:

Genesis 1:29, 30
And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

But after the flood of Noah, which destroyed everyone except 8 people and a few animals, God declared a new law where He has allowed us to eat animals as well as continue to plants:

Genesis 9:3
Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.

It is perfectly fine for us all to eat meat, in fact, Jesus Christ Himself was recorded in the Bible to eat meat and actually asked for meat in Luke 24:41-43, “And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat? And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb. And he took it, and did eat before them.” Jesus miraculously fed massive crowds of people with only 2 fish and 5 loaves of bread by multiplying them. Wouldn’t Jesus be a hypocrite if He was a vegetarian but multiplied fish and fed others?:

Matthew 14:17-21
And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes.
He said, Bring them hither to me.
And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full.
And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.

Another clearer account that Jesus was not a vegetarian was the fact that He actually caught fish Himself, cooked, served and ate them with some of His disciples:

John 21:9, 10, 13
As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread.
Jesus saith unto them, Bring of the fish which ye have now caught.
Jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise.

So, it is clear that Jesus had no problems with killing animals and eating their meat at all, the same can be said about His disciples and followers. The Bible has no problem with those who choose to eat vegetables and fruit alone for health reasons like Daniel in Daniel 1:12 but there is absolutely no spiritual reasons outlined by the Bible that restricts Christ followers from eating meat. Christians are free to eat meat or abstain from it completely if they wish, the Bible actually tells us not to judge each other based on our choices to eat meat or not:

Romans 14:1-3
Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.
Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.

It is interesting to note that the Bible does predict that the time will come in the Last Days, where men will force each other into complete abstinence of meat despite the fact that God has given us permission to eat meat freely:

1 Timothy 4:1-4
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:

15) Reincarnation is not biblical

The Bible by design seems to anticipate the idea of reincarnation and time and time again expressed ideas that are absolutely diametrically opposed to reincarnation. The following verses clearly shows that we all have one life to live on Earth and are not reborn into other bodies:

Job 14:10-12
But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he?
As the waters fail from the sea, and the flood decayeth and drieth up:
So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep.

Hebrew 9:27
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.

Some bible scholars suggest that the message of Hebrews 9:27 is symbolized in Ecclesiastes 11:3, “If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth: and if the tree fall toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falleth, there it shall be.” So even within the Book of Ecclesiastes we see the imagery of soul and spirit leaving the body at the point of death and just as a “tree” can land towards the “north” or towards the “south” and remain in either one of those two places, the same can be said for the spirit going to reside in either Heaven or Hell.

The life of Jesus Christ seems to have been well orchestrated by the Holy Spirit to poke holes through the concept of reincarnation. Jesus was pre-existent and came into this world as God in the flesh (John 1:1, 14); He was never Buddha or Vishnu that was reincarnated into the body of Jesus, the Bible makes that clear. The most telling part is that when He died He was never reincarnated into another body but was resurrected (Matthew 28:5-7). Jesus by His incarnation on Earth did even more to expose more problems with Reincarnation and Karma, because He was a good man who even the Hindus would suggest had only “good Karma,” if such was the case then why was this good man murdered? The very circumstances of His horrific and bloody death divorces the reliability of the doctrines of Karma and Reincarnation. The fact that several people were resurrected in the Bible as shown in 1 Kings 17:17-24, 2 Kings 4:35, 2 Kings 13:21, Luke 7:13-15, Matthew 9:25, John 11:43-44, Matthew 27:52-53,  and many other places throughout the Bible, discredits reincarnation because if it was to be believed then those people who died would have been reborn into other bodies and resurrection should have been impossible. So it is clear that one cannot believe in both Reincarnation and the Resurrection at the same time; they are completely incompatible.

Nevertheless, some New Agers adamantly believe that the Bible actually supports reincarnation, this is simple not true! They usually turn to the verses where the Bible and even Jesus describes John the Baptist as another Prophet Elijah:

Luke 1:17
And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

Matthew 17:11-13
And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things.
But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them. Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.

However, they completely ignore the fact that John the Baptist was never Elijah but did share Elijah’s role as one who prepared others for God’s coming. The truth is that Elijah is in Heaven with God right now; Elijah is actually one of three men including Enoch (Hebrews 11:5) and Jesus who are presently in heaven (Jesus died, resurrected and returned to Heaven in bodily form in Acts 1:9):

2 Kings 2:11
And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

Even if one does not believe that Elijah never died and ascended to Heaven, he does appears in bodily form with Jesus at the transfiguration. Above all, it must be noted that at the transfiguration of Jesus Christ, he is recognized as Elijah and was never once referred to as John the Baptist even though John the Baptist had died a few chapters earlier:

Matthew 17:1-3
And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,
And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.
And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias (Elijah) talking with him.

Elijah has never died but the Bible seems to suggest that he will finally taste death, according to Revelation 11, as one of the two witnesses who will be killed before Jesus’ Second Coming. Another fact to consider is that John the Baptist personally never said that he was the Prophet Elias or Elijah but told his followers and the Jews that he was the servant of God crying in the wilderness, the same one foretold by the prophet Esaias or Isaiah in Isaiah 40:3:

John 1:19-23
And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?
And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.
And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.
Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?
He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.

In light of all I discussed so far, we must all see reincarnation for what it truly is – an echo of the very same lie spewed from the mouth of the serpent to Eve, in the garden of Eden in Genesis 3:4, “Ye shall not surely die.”

16) False science is being used to support New Age and Hinduism

Science has been abused and twisted by those who wish to use it to support their eastern mysticism-world view. The truth of the matter is that science can never answer spiritual questions. Science, according to the Oxford dictionary, is defined as “The intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the structure and behaviour of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment.” Science studies “structure” and “behaviour” of phenomena in the physical world. So, do not be deceived by those who say that science has verified the existence of the third eye, the pineal gland that some label as the third eye, has only been proven as a gland that secrets hormones, nothing more. The same rule of thumb applies for the so-called “scientific studies” behind psychic powers, kundalini, prana, chakras and the chakra network.

Science uses physical metrics like length, width, height and weight to quantify phenomena, record them and monitor them in experiments for predictability. Once phenomena can be replicated in experiments then it moves from the realm of theory into fact, this is simply not the case for these metaphysical body parts that New Agers and Hindus claim humans possess. Any science that says that these claims are true is simply a pseudo-science because science can only be used to verify physical and quantifiable phenomena that have the element of predictability. The Bible has documented many accounts of physical phenomena which have been verified by science as scientific facts, I have prepared an article containing 20 of the hundreds of these scientific facts embedded within the Bible. The Bible actually predicts an explosion of knowledge in the End Times:

Daniel 12:4
But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

We must recognize that this knowledge may not necessarily be entirely “good,” please remember the fruit of the “knowledge of good and evil” (Genesis 2:9 and Genesis 3:5). So, it is entirely possible that some of the knowledge in the End Times may be lies and flat out evil, I hate bringing this example up, but even pornography is information and knowledge, but we would of course agree that the Bible condemns that sort of knowledge. False scientific knowledge is absolutely nothing new, even Paul warns Timothy concerning false sciences, which to Christians goes hand in hand with the prophecies of Jesus and Paul concerning the last days which will be a time of rampant deception:

1 Timothy 6:20
O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:

Matthew 24:4
And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

2 Timothy 3:13
But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

17) The Power of Positive Thinking and the Law of Attraction

The Power of Positive Thinking popularized in the book with the same name by Norman Vincent Peale and the Law of Attraction revealed in “The Secret” written by Rhonda Byrne and made viral by Oprah are just revived pagan ideas. It is nothing more than panentheism, the belief that God is an impersonal force that indwells His creation, which I discussed back in point 3, we are not gods and do not have such abilities which I explained in point 4. The New Age ideas on the Law of Attraction reduces God to an impersonal force which is not the opinion of the Bible, the positive thinking movement which has now flooded Christianity and is popularized by famous pastors is nothing but a repackaged form of Hindu and Pagan practices.

Christians in an attempt to support the positive thinking movement often take several Bible verses out of context like Proverbs 23:7, “What a man thinketh in his heart so is he.” which is a complete misinterpretation of that verse. The first problem with that verse is that they often ignore the rest of that verse and the next thing to note is that this verse is not a complete sentence; the sentence actually starts at verse 6 and ends at verse 7. The final problem with that verse is that its meaning  is only made clear when one understands the verses immediately before Proverbs 23:7:

Proverbs 23:1-7
When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what is before thee:
And put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite.
Be not desirous of his dainties: for they are deceitful meat.
Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom.
Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.
Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, neither desire thou his dainty meats:
For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.

After reading all the verses before Proverbs 23:7 and taking Proverbs 23:6, 7 as one sentence, we understand that this verse does not tell us that our thoughts can create our reality it is talking about the fact that the heart of man is wicked and his actions may be contrary to what his heart believes, in other words the verse’s true interpretation would be the same as Jeremiah 17:9:

Jeremiah 17:9
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Another verse that has been twisted to support the idea of positive thinking is the following verse in Philippians 4:8:

Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

However, the Bible explains that it is God who gives us joy, peace and fulfillment not our thoughts. In fact verse 6 and 13, immediately before and after Philippians 4:8 directs us to God; that He is our Strength:

Philippians 4:6, 13
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

The Power of Positive Thinking and the Law of Attraction is witchcraft! I have no doubt that some readers may object to this claim, but it truly is, in fact those familiar with the occult and satanism will recognize it as such. Aleister Crowley, world renown occultist and founder of Thelema, once said, “Magick is the Science and Art of causing Change to occur in conformity with Will,” he makes it clear that sorcery can only be performed through applying one’s will or thoughts. This sounds familiar to the law of attraction now doesn’t it?  These practices allegedly helps those who apply them to gain success, live a happy life and even get rich, all of which are carnal and earthly desires. I would dare go far as to call such people who practice them, Satanists, Anton LaVey, the founder of the Satanic Church would certainly consider them as his followers, “Satanism is not a white light religion; it is a religion of the flesh, the mundane, the carnal – all of which are ruled by Satan, the personification of the Left Hand Path,” and in this other quote, “The Satanist realizes that man, and the action and reaction of the universe, is responsible for everything, and doesn’t mislead himself into thinking that someone cares.”

I hope you learned now that the Law of Attraction and the Power of Positive Thinking are actually forms of witchcraft and sorcery, presently masked behind the veil of quantum physics and New Age lingo. It is a denial of God’s sovereignty whether done intentionally or unintentionally; eliminating God from one’s life and raising oneself as a god because these practices force others to look within themselves for the answers instead of turning to God. It is idolatry and an act of rebellion and the Bible makes it clear that rebellion at its core is seen by God as the same as witchcraft, this is exactly what God said through the Prophet Samuel to Saul:

1 Samuel 15:23
For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

18) Is Astral Projection Biblical?

The short answer to this question seems to be yes, there are evidence for such things occurring in the Bible. Within the Book of Ecclesiastes when discussing metaphorically the state of the dead in Ecclesiastes chapter 12, verse 6 of that chapter says, “Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern” the term “silver cord be loosed” actually hints to out of body experiences or astral projection. The prophet Ezekiel in Chapter 8 of his book was taken out of his body by God to learn that the Jewish Leaders were performing idolatry behind closed doors:

Ezekiel 8:1, 3, 10, 12
And it came to pass in the sixth year, in the sixth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I sat in mine house, and the elders of Judah sat before me, that the hand of the Lord GOD fell there upon me.
And he put forth the form of an hand, and took me by a lock of mine head; and the spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heaven, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the inner gate that looketh toward the north; where was the seat of the image of jealousy, which provoketh to jealousy.
So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, pourtrayed upon the wall round about.
Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, The LORD seeth us not; the LORD hath forsaken the earth.

In another instance Ezekiel was taken out of his body to a valley filled with bones:

Ezekiel 37:1, 2
The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones,
And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry.

The disciple John had this out of body experience in the book of Revelation. Even the apostle Paul points out to an incident which most bible scholars agree was an out of body incident concerning Paul himself:

2 Corinthians 12:1-4
It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.
I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.
And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;)
How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.

The occurrence that New Agers may label as astral projection and what the rest of the world refers to as near death experiences and outer body experiences have indeed happened to the writers of the Bible, however, these instances were under the direct control of God. New Age religion, Hinduism and Buddhism believes that anyone can leave their bodies, if such is the case then God would have simply instructed his prophets to step out of their own bodies by themselves. Wouldn’t He? It is clear from all the above cases that outside spiritual help is required to perform astral projection. Anyone who claims to willfully or unintentionally astral project are being snatched out of their bodies not by God but through the power of demonic spirits. If you have these experiences and have the time to spare please watch the testimony of a man who practiced voodoo, astral projected himself and witnessed friends and family members doing it themselves, in this video below this man explains that the source of this power is without a doubt demonic:

19) Personal Spiritual Experience Vs. Written Spiritual Message from the Bible

This is one of greatest reasons why some involved in the New Age or Hinduism reject the Bible, they lift up their own personal experiences on a higher level than any other message given to them including the warnings of the Bible. The problem with this thinking is that one opens himself or herself up to the possibility of being deceived. There is something called absolute truth, which is a fixed and never-changing fact, for instance the mathematical statement that 2 + 2 = 4.  When people allow personal experiences to govern their truths, they open themselves to believe in relativism, which is truth that is only correct for a certain culture, people or period of time, it is like the equivalent of believing that 2 + 2 = 5. There is absolute truth and the Bible makes the claim as being the only spiritual text to direct us in absolute truth, I go into this in greater detail in my article that answers the question: Are there many ways to God? The Bible even predicts that a time would come when people will abandon absolute truth and willingly accept their own version of “truth” that they prefer:

2 Timothy 4:3
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

This same Bible warns us that these same people and many others will fall prey to great deceptions:

Matthew 24:24
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Matthew 24:11
And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

So, we are not to lean only on our own understanding as it is an invitation to be tricked into believing a lie. Sir John Eccles who received his Nobel Prize for research on the brain, described the brain as “A machine that a ghost can operate” so it is entirely possible that spiritual experiences that one may have can easily be planted by the demonic spirits of this world during meditation, yoga and even astral projection. God’s word must be our primary source of truth, Jesus once prayed in John 17:17, “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” Sadly, one of the greatest misconceptions is that when one becomes a Christian, he or she becomes a brainless sheep, this is simply not true, we are encouraged to test our spiritual experiences and all the information given to us and see if they line up with what God revealed through the Bible. We are called to be like the Bereans who took in every piece of information openly but tested them with the Bible:

1 John 4:1
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Acts 17:11
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

20) What does the Bible have say about spirit guides and ascended masters?

The Bible warns against seeking them out, these beings were called familiars in the Bible and would instruct, warn, and guide those who seek their counsel, in other words, they served the exact same role as the spirit guides and ascended masters of today:

Leviticus 20:6, 7
And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.
Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God.

Leviticus 19:31
Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.

2 Chronicles 33:6
And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

The Bible is riddled with this activity which was common among those who rejected the true Living God. If God was not pleased with those practices back then, then He most certainly is not pleased with those who seek these spirit guides and ascended masters now, after all the Bible says there is nothing new under the sun (Ecclesiastes 1:9). God does not give His laws just for the sake of burdening us with rules, they were always designed for our own benefit and protection (1 John 5:3). These familiars, ghosts, spirit guides and ascended masters are all demonic spirits and the Bible warns us that they will lead many souls to Hell:

1 Timothy 4:1
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

Matthew 24:4, 5
And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

The Bible tells us that these evil spirits even have the power to transform themselves into angels of light and ministers of righteousness for the express purpose of deceiving others:

2 Corinthians 11:13-15
For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

It is clear that we truly must never go solely on our own personal experience which I discussed in point 19, because these spirits can use any means that they possess to deceive us, these are ancient beings that have gained a lot of practice in leading souls to Hell. This is the case in the video below, entitles, “What Is Really Going On?” You may watch the entire video or just skip ahead to 1 hour and 52 minutes of it to the end of it to discover the true nature of these ascended masters and spirit guides:

The Bible teaches us to observe the fruits of these spiritual experiences, religions and teachings of men:

Matthew 7:15-18
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

When one applies the simple standards outlined in Matthew 7:15-18 we understand that Hinduism is not a true religion and has led India into financial instability, Islam with its violent teachings has taught followers to know nothing but hatred and antisemitism and the New Age, as this film that opens this post shows, leads its followers to danger, spiritual bankruptcy and self-destruction. True Biblical Christianity produces genuine fruit that brings complete satisfaction, peace, joy and unites the Christ follower with the true Living God. Please if you belong to these religions and desire to learn how to follow the true Living God, you may do so here.
