Does God Exist? Did Science Just Discovered God?

I have been asked this question quite a lot by Atheists, “Why should I possibly believe in God? In this scientific age, how can we believe in some invisible man in the sky?” In an interview with Reuters, the theoretical physicist, Stephen Hawking says “It is not necessary to invoke God to light the blue touch paper and set the universe going.” Are the Atheists right? Well, I do believe in God and the idea that science actually disproves God couldn’t be further from the truth. In this article, I will share with you some reasons from science, philosophy and the Bible which completely supports God’s existence:

The Scientific and Logical Arguments For God

Scientists have informed us that the universe began to exist – an idea which was absurd a few decades ago, when mainstream science held on to the view that the universe was eternal. There are several scientific reasons which insinuate that this universe had a beginning but to be brief I will share two major ones with you:

i) According to the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics, we know that they universe is loosing energy, think of this energy like the “gas” for your “car” – the universe is steadily loosing this “gas.” More specifically, the universe is wearing out – all useful energy to do work is being converted into entropy (decay or disorder). So our universe’s energy is decreasing while the entropy is increasing. And the Bible actually serves as a witness to this:

Psalms 102:25, 26
Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands.
They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:

If it was possible for us to somehow record all the energy consumption of this universe over its history then we would recognize that in the past there was once a moment, when there was maximum energy available to do work. It also follows that at this exact moment the measure of entropy or decay was zero. This proves that the universe indeed had a beginning – the universe cannot be operating forever – the scientific evidence contradicts this.

ii) In 1905, Albert Einstein developed the Special Theory of Relativity as a result of measurements of length, velocity and time from moving observers and light. This data led him to develop the famous correlation that we know as E=mc^2. Ten years later, Einstein applied this theory to Newtonian physics and thus the theory of General Relativity was born. In fact, Einstein’s work pointed to the expansion of the universe and its beginning, however, his pantheistic beliefs made it difficult for him to come to terms with this conclusion – but the implications of his work did not go unnoticed. In the 1920’s a Russian mathematician named, Alexander Friedmann, took hold of Einstein’s theory of General Relativity and proposed that the universe was expanding. It was finally in 1929, that Edwin Hubble made a very fascinating discovery, he discovered that the universe indeed seems to be showing signs of expansion. He came to this conclusion after observing the red-shift from galaxies moving away from ours – think of this like an ambulance with its siren on driving past your car and you hear the distortion in the sound as it comes to you and the other unique distortion in the sound when it finally passes your car (this effect is called the Doppler Effect). Red-shift in the galaxies is like a “unique distortion” in electromagnetic radiation like light, which indicates that they are moving away from us. So, we know that the universe is expanding, which I must let you know is another fact found in the Bible:

Jeremiah 10:12
He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion.

Job 9:8
Which alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea.

edwin-hubble-mount-wilson-observatory So the universe is expanding, you may think of it like a balloon, if we were able to record the edges of the universe and trace the expansion back through history we would reach a single region (just like when an inflated balloon is deflated). From these two scientific facts – the expansion of the universe and the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics – among many others, we have confirmation that the universe had a beginning.

iii) If those two proofs somehow failed to satisfy your skepticism about the universe having a beginning, then I will offer you a powerful philosophical proof. If the universe never had a beginning, then the universe is eternal – if it is eternal then there is neither an “ending of time” nor a “beginning of time.” Without a beginning or an ending of time, then there would be no such thing as the “present” that we experience today. What do I mean by this? I will try to illustrate this concept with an analogy, it goes like this – let us just imagine that the universe is an “athlete” running a race along a “circular track.” We are observing this athlete running around and around the track without end. This athlete has a problem, he is running around and around…and getting tired, he must stop – but the greater problem is this – there is no finish line, because the circular track is an infinite closed-loop. Likewise, the opposite is true, if there is no finish line then there is no starting line and this athlete would not know where to begin his race – every moment he sets off to run he must run backwards due to the fact that there is no starting point. As such this athlete must run backwards forever. Now, is it logical for an athlete to run both forward and backwards simultaneously? So, logically this universe must have a beginning and must have an end our “athlete,” the universe, is getting tired (2nd Law of Thermodynamics). In addition to this, for us to arrive to the present we must logically have a beginning. So, it is completely reasonable to conclude that the universe does in fact require a beginning and likewise an end.

Now, that I have established that the universe has a beginning, we can proceed to the interesting part. We know that the universe has three elements – space, time and matter – which all began simultaneously. Why do we need all thee elements to occur simultaneously? Well, if you only had matter, then WHERE will you house it? If you only had space and matter then WHEN would it begin? Also if you only had space, then WHAT will you fill it with? So yes, all three elements must emerge at once. With all that said, we know that the universe had a beginning, I have cited two reasons above, as such it must have a cause. Why does the universe need a cause? We know that a building is designed by an architect and a watch is made by a watchmaker. Likewise, if this universe was “wound” up like a clock and we observe it “winding” down, then it follows that there must be a “winder.” But let us look at the attributes of this first cause – this first cause:

a) Transcends Time/ Eternal/ Timeless
b) Transcends Space/ Spaceless
c) Transcends Matter/ Immaterial
d) Is Omnipotent
e) Has A Will

Why must it be timeless, spaceless, and immaterial? Because it created this universe and must be completely independent of those elements. Why must it be omnipotent? It must be so in order to have the ability to create the universe. Why must it have will or desire? This cause has a will for two reasons 1) The power to create (omnipotence) must be acted upon by will 2) An eternal cause creating a temporal universe, instead of an eternal universe, is a signature of will. The ability to will is an attribute which belongs only to persons and hence this cause must be personal. Well, who is this first cause? This first cause is God! Correct! Because only God is eternal, immaterial, spaceless, omnipotent, intelligent and personal. This argument that I have used here proving the existence of God is called the “Cosmological Argument.”

Common Objections To The Cosmological Argument:

1) What if this first cause was created by another cause? This question is reasonable as it opens up the possibility of asking if the other cause had a cause and on and on to infinity – producing what is called an infinite regression. However, this fallacy is self-refuting because it ponders on the possibility of this cause’s creation/source? If such is the case, then WHEN will it be created? After all, this cause is transcendent of time and the universe. The answer would be no, because it is eternal, such a question would have only applied to a cause that was bound by time, space and matter. But if the answer “no” still does not satisfy that answer, then Occam’s Razor will simply shave off any need for an infinite sequence of causes, because Occam’s Razor states that the conclusion with the fewest assumptions is oftentimes the correct one.

2) What if there was no cause for the beginning of the universe? This objection actually tries to suggest that something comes from nothing. But how can this be logical purely based on naturalistic processes? In the case of the universe, before it began there was no potentiality. But how can it logically become a reality without even having its potentiality, if no supernatural miracle occurred? If something comes from nothing, then this nothing is actually something. So rather, the argument is still something coming from something – an effect like the creation of the universe emerging from a cause.

3) What if the universe had no beginning? I would be shocked if anyone still believed this, despite, the fact that I have completely proved this idea is false – logically and scientifically. If you are still not convinced, then I will have no choice but to direct you to this other article here.

Are The Descriptions of The God of The Bible Consistent With This First Cause or Creator of The Universe?

Well, this question can be easily answered – yes – I am sure you are thinking, “Well that was anticlimactic,” but the answer is really that simple – this God claims to be the Creator of Heaven and Earth:

Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Colossians 1:16, 17
For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

Nehemiah 9:6
Thou, even thou, art LORD alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee.

pillars of creation

Therefore, this God clearly demonstrates that He is eternal, immaterial, spaceless, omnipotent, intelligent and personal. We know that the God of the Bible is eternal:

2 Timothy 1:9
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

Isaiah 46:9, 10
Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,
Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done,
saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

Fulfilled Bible prophecy is solid proof that He is indeed eternal or outside of time. Furthermore, the attribute of timelessness also inherently implies the attribute of being changeless – God cannot change. Do I have biblical proof? Of course:

Numbers 23:19
God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

James 1:17
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

This proof actually disqualifies the Allah of the Qur’an as being the true God and discredits the notion that Allah is the same as my God, because Allah can change his mind! The doctrine of abrogation is a clear proof of this:

Surah 2:106
We (Allah) do not abrogate a verse or cause it to be forgotten except that We bring forth [one] better than it or similar to it. Do you not know that Allah is over all things competent?

How can God possibly change His mind on the wording of His scripture? Shouldn’t He get things perfect the very first time? In any case, I digress, God is immaterial because He tells us that He is a Spirit:

John 4:24
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Now, is the God of the Bible spaceless? Some of these attributes are clearly hinted in the following scriptures:

Isaiah 66:1
Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?

John 1:1, 3
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Some Christians make the error of saying that Heaven is God’s home but Isaiah 66:1, makes it clear that Heaven is not His home it is more like a house that He created Himself! There is a subtle difference between a house and a home – you can live without a house but you depend on a home. As such, God is indeed spaceless, and this is also confirmed by John 1:3, for God created “all things” by default He must have created space, so this indirectly proves that He is inherently spaceless.

God is omnipotent, I think that the clearest indication of this is the fact that God spoke the universe into existence. My God spoke it into existence, unlike the Hindu god Shiva who claims to need to dance for the universe to exist during his Tandava and also needs to dance upon the demon, Apasmara:

Genesis 1:3, 6, 9
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

let there be light

Psalms 33:6
By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.

Psalms 148:5
Let them praise the name of the LORD: for he commanded, and they were created.

In fact, one of the original meanings of the word “universe” is believed to be, “single spoken sentence.” Now, concerning the question of God’s intelligence and personhood, the following scriptures provide obvious evidence for this:

Isaiah 41:10
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Genesis 1:27
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Isaiah 45:5, 22
I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:
Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

The personal pronouns like “me,” “I” and the telltale signs of will is riddled in those three verses like choosing to strengthen us, saving us, helping us – is obviously pointing to personhood. We have a will and are capable of love and emotions, as such, it should not be a surprise when we learn that the God of the Bible bears this same characteristic – He tells us that we are like this, because of Him in Genesis 1:27!

Finally, the universe is fine-tuned, a fact that no intelligent scientist will ever deny, even the Earth was positioned in a place where it is not too close and not too far from the sun – the “Goldilocks Zone.” These various proofs of fine-tuning are collectively called the Anthropic Principle and is proof that God is in fact personal because it strongly implies will, foreknowledge and intelligence. The Bible is riddled with some very curious passages where God is described as “measuring,” “weighing,” “balancing” all of these terms absolutely confirm that He was the One who did the fine-tuning of the universe:

Isaiah 40:12
Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?

Proverbs 30:4
Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is His name, and what is His Son’s name, if thou canst tell?

Isaiah 45:18
For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

What About The Multiple Universe (Multiverse) Theory? It Proves There is No God

First of all, the parallel universe theory also known as multiverse theory is just that – it is a theory. A theory is merely a collection of ideas which aim to explain an event, so this multiverse theory merely tries to explain the origin of the universe. It is not a scientific fact, the theory was designed to provide an “escape-hatch” or “cop-out” for those who realize that the compound probability of the universe beginning and life emerging is extremely close to zero. In fact, just the compound probability of life emerging on Earth is virtually zero this other article explains right here. Furthermore, this theory exits science and enters into the realm of philosophy and pseudoscience, as it is impossible to empirically prove that there are many universes. We as human beings are bound by time, space and matter – we are bound by this universe and, as such, we can never observe any other universe (if such exist).

multiverse - each ball is a universe

However, this theory has not stopped some scientists from embracing it. One of the most common explanations for the multiverse is this analogy – they tell us that our universe, as well as many others, are being massively produced by some sort of “undiscovered law of physics” which they portray as a “gumball machine” churning out an infinite number of gumballs – each gumball being a potential universe. Why is this unfounded explanation necessary? Because the clear fine-tuning that we observe in our universe hints too much to God. This explanation attempts to deny God by producing several universes – some universes come out perfectly like ours and some do not even produce or sustain life. The video embedded above (at the end of the last section), “The Fine Tuning of the Universe,” explains this theory very well. Stephen Hawking believes in this theory, and that something can actually come from nothing:

“Because there is a law such as gravity, the universe can and will create itself from nothing.” – Stephen Hawking in his interview with Reuters, “God did not create the universe, says Hawking.”

But his statement is false, gravity does not create matter, in fact none of the laws of physics ever create, rather they act on the things that are already created in the universe. C.S. Lewis, a brilliant writer and academic, describes the dilemma that individuals like Stephen Hawking and even Lawrence Krauss, another theoretical physicist, faces concerning the laws of physics:

“They produce no events: they state the pattern to which every event – if only it can be induced to happen – must conform, just as the rules of arithmetic state the pattern to which all transactions with money must conform – if only you can get hold of any money. Thus in one sense the laws of Nature cover the whole field of space and time; in another, what they leave out is precisely the whole real universe – the incessant torrent of actual events which makes up true history. That must come from somewhere else. To think the laws can produce it is like thinking that you can create real money by simply doing sums. For every law, in the last resort, says: If you have A, then you will get B.” But first catch your A: the laws won’t do it for you.” – C.S. Lewis in “Miracles” cited by John C. Lennox on p.42 of “God and Stephen Hawking: Whose Design Is It Anyway?”

It should be no surprise that Richard Dawkins has completely swallowed this idea whole – that the universe can come from “nothing,” which is based on the union (or illegitimate child) of Quantum Mechanics and the theory of General Relativity, commonly publicized by Lawrence Krauss. Richard Dawkins still persists in repeating this mantra, despite, the fact that Lawrence Krauss is not actually talking about “nothing” – he actually refers to “something” called “quantum fluctuations.” However, Krauss deceptively calls it “nothing,” and abuses the scientific terms in this theory, in order to avoid the clear supernatural implications of a universe with a beginning. The truth is that the multiverse theory does not even eliminate God, this idea that a “law of physics” or some sort of “gumball machine” spitting out universes never truly denies God at all and I will show you why. Please take a look of the traits of this alleged “undiscovered law of physics.” This law:

a) Transcends Time/ Eternal/ Timeless
b) Transcends Space/ Spaceless
c) Transcends Matter/ Immaterial
d) Is Omnipotent

This “law of physics” may not have will, but it still fits the profile of the first cause of the universe. Some of you may already realize where I am going with this. This so-called “law of physics” in the multiverse theory is in a sense God or perhaps His thoughts (which are abstract/immaterial)! Albeit, it is superficially God because it bears all the attributes of the Creator God, it is fundamentally not my God – it is a man-made god – which the Bible calls an “idol” – this is just modern-day idolatry folks (Ecclesiastes 1:9, 10)! Are Stephen Hawking, Richard Dawkins and Lawrence Krauss actually theists but do not know it yet? I actually think so…But what can be said about the multiverse theory and the deceptive mantra that something can come from nothing? Maybe Richard Swinburne, a British philosopher and Emeritus Professor of Philosophy at Oxford University can sum this all up better than I can:

“Multiple universe theory represents the height of irrationality” – Richard Swinburne in “The Existence of God,” p. 165.

If you want my opinion, I was thinking more along the lines that the multiverse theory is, “a fairy-tale which Atheists believe in,” but Swinburne’s description will do just nicely.

What If The Cause of The Universe Is The Flying Spaghetti Monster?

flying spaghetti monster

I am sure that a clever Atheist in a last-ditch attempt will say, “Okay, if there is a cause for the universe, then what would stop the Flying Spaghetti Monster (FSM) from being this cause?” My response to this question is simple. If you believe that the Flying Spaghetti Monster created the universe then by default you are saying that it has the attributes of being timeless, spaceless, immaterial, omnipotent and personal – you are no longer an Atheist, my friend, you are now a Theist. This is merely a colourful, humorous and idolatrous description of God. The same rule applies if the “Flying Spaghetti Monster” is replaced by a “gumball machine,” “computer,” “law of physics,” “fairy,” “invisible man in the sky,” “flying invisible skittles bag in the sky,” etc.

This is all just a childish mockery of God, but believe me God will not be mocked, He will have the final say…one day:

Galatians 6:7, 8
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

Closing Thoughts

I have shown that the notion that science actually disproves God is just absurd. The fact that the universe has a beginning absolutely verifies the existence of God:

“The beginning seems to present insuperable difficulties unless we agree to look on it as frankly supernatural.” – Sir Arthur Eddington in “The Expanding Universe,” p. 178. (Keep note that Sir Arthur Eddington was one of the most influential astrophysicists in the 20th century)

“As we survey all the evidence, the thought insistently arises that some supernatural agency – or, rather, Agency – must be involved. Is it possible that suddenly, without intending to, we have stumbled upon scientific proof of the existence of a Supreme Being? Was it God who stepped in and so providentially crafted the cosmos for our benefit?” – George S. Greenstein cited by Fred Heeren in “Show Me God: What the Message from Space Is Telling Us About God,” p. 233. (a professor of Astrophysics in the University of Amherst in the Massacheusetts in USA)

Romans 1:20-22, 25
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

Now, that it has been established that the Creator God does exist, the question we need to answer is this: Who is this Creator God? I have touched on this already here, but in my next article I will make the case that the God of the Bible is in fact this Creator God, beyond all reasonable doubt! Please do not miss my next article – I am actually getting excited just thinking about it. Feel free to like, follow, and share this with all of your friends and family. God bless!

100% Proof That There Is Life After Death!

What happens to us when we die? For thousands of years, mankind has asked that question and now it seems that science is finally digging into the truth of what happens to us. In this article I will provide results from peer-reviewed scientific studies, verified testimonies and scriptures from the Bible which all seek to give an answer to that question:

1) AWARE (AWAreness during REsuscitation) Study
A) Testimony of a 57 year old Social Worker
2) Near Death Experience Research Foundation (NDERF)
B) Testimony of Ellen F.
3) Conclusion
C) Near-death Experiencers’ Video Testimonials

1) AWARE (AWAreness during REsuscitation) Study

You may not be aware of this, but one of the largest scientific studies on the afterlife was just recently completed. Dr Sam Parnia, an assistant professor at the State University of New York was the one who led this research together with Dr Peter Fenwick, Professor Stephen Holgate, Professor Robert Peveler of the University of Southampton and several other experts. Prior to the start of this study, Dr. Parnia was convinced that afterlife experiences were just hallucinations, but he was quickly made a believer by some of the testimonies of the participants and the results of the study. This study was carried out over the span of four years from July 2008 to December 2012, and aimed to determine if those who have been labelled clinically dead via cardiac arrest (heart attacks) and were resuscitated had any afterlife experiences. About 2060 cardiac arrest events took place during this experiment at 15 different hospitals in the U.K., U.S. and Austria.
Dr. Sam Parnia

The study reports that out of the 2060 patients, 330 survived their cardiac arrest and were discharged while 140 survivors met the criteria for the study and were given consent to participate. The 140 survivors participated in stage 1 of the interviews which included general questions while 101 patients were fit to participate in stage 2 of the interviews which contained open-ended questions and required the completion of a 16-item Greyson NDE scale (Lange and Greyson, 2004). Visual awareness during out-of-body experiences were tested by placing pictures of images on a shelf, in such a way, that its image can only be viewed from an overhead vantage point – which is often claimed by those with afterlife experiences.

Of those who survived and had clear verifiable signs of awareness – 46% had no experiences consistent with near-death experiences. Near-death experiences included experiences with one or any combination of seven basic themes defined in this study as fear, animals/planets, bright light, violence/persecution, deja-vu, family, and recalling specific events after cardiac arrest. Approximately, 9% had experiences consistent with near-death experiences (NDE) that people claim to have. About 7% had no auditory or visual recollection of their resuscitation while 2% had very clear recollections of seeing and hearing events specific to their resuscitation.

As I have pointed out earlier, Dr. Parnia was a skeptic when he started this study but after his results he certainly wishes to look more into this phenomenon, “…the recalled experience surrounding death now merits further genuine investigation without prejudice.” This study was so interesting that, Dr. Jerry Nolan, the editor-in-chief of the journal called “Resuscitation,” which published this study had this to say,

“The researchers are to be congratulated on the completion of a fascinating study that will open the door to more extensive research into what happens when we die.”

You can view the study in PDF format here. I am sure that you may be asking the question, “Why were there so few near death experiences?” In response to this valid question Dr. Parnia states, “…a higher proportion of people may have vivid death experiences, but do not recall them due to the effects of brain injury or sedative drugs on memory circuits.” So, he believes that it is brain damage or drugs which caused some of his patients to forget their experiences. In any case, no one can debate with these findings because it has been peer-reviewed or carefully scrutinized by other experts in this field for high accuracy and high precision.

A) Testimony of a 57 year old Social Worker

One participant of the study was a 57 year old man, who is a social worker and lived in Southampton. He had clear conscious awareness that was verified beyond reasonable doubt using the visual awareness test and reported specific sounds, conversations and visuals prior to his resuscitation that were all confirmed. This is what Dr. Parnia had said about this man in an interview with The Telegraph,

“We know the brain can’t function when the heart has stopped beating. But in this case, conscious awareness appears to have continued for up to three minutes into the period when the heart wasn’t beating, even though the brain typically shuts down within 20-30 seconds after the heart has stopped. The man described everything that had happened in the room, but importantly, he heard two bleeps from a machine that makes a noise at three minute intervals. So we could time how long the experienced lasted for. He seemed very credible and everything that he said had happened to him had actually happened.”

This same man had a positive near death experience and it reads as follows,

“I have come back from the other side of life…God sent (me) back, it was not (my) time – (I) had many things to do…(I traveled) through a tunnel toward a very strong light, which didn’t dazzle or hurt (my) eyes…there were other people in the tunnel whom (I) did not recognize. When (I) emerged (I) described a very beautiful crystal city…there was a river that ran through the middle of the city (with) the most crystal clear waters. There were many people, without faces, who were washing in the waters…the people were very beautiful…there was the most beautiful singing…(and I was) moved to tears. (My) next recollection was looking up at a doctor doing chest compressions.”

river of life

The following contains various negative experiences from other patients that contained themes of fear and persecution after being clinically pronounced dead in the AWARE Study,

“I was terrified. I was told I was going to die and the quickest way was to say the last short word I could remember”
“Being dragged through deep water”
“This whole event seemed full of violence and I am not a violent man, it was out of character.”
“I had to go through a ceremony and…the ceremony was to get burned. There were 4 men with me, whichever lied would die…I saw men in coffins being buried upright.”

2) Near Death Experience Research Foundation (NDERF)

Dr. Jeffrey Long and his wife, Jody Long JD (Juris Doctor) have been running the Near Death Experience Research Foundation (NDERF) and their website can be found here. Dr. Jeffrey Long’s book, “Evidence of the Afterlife: The Science of Near-Death Experiences” written and compiled with the assistance of Jody Long, and Paul Perry documents 613 cases. Before we plunge deeper into his findings, I would like to make this point clear – that near-death experiences have no dependence on one’s preconceived ideas as Dr. Long suggests,

“Preexisting cultural beliefs do not significantly influence the content of NDEs. Near-death experiences from around the world appear to have similar content regardless of the culture of the country that the NDErs live in.”

Here is a list of twelve major near-death experience elements, that have been identified by Dr. Long. Each element is followed by a number indicating what percentage of the 613 people included in the Evidence of the Afterlife study experienced the element in question. According to Dr. Long, only 33.8 percent reported passing into of through a tunnel, and only 22.2 percent said they experienced a life review of their deeds on Earth:

1) Out-of-body experience (O.B.E.): Separation of consciousness from the physical body – 75.4 percent

2) Heightened senses – 74.4 percent

3) Intense and generally positive emotions or feelings – 76.2 percent

4) Passing into or through a tunnel – 33.8 percent

5) Encountering a mystical or brilliant light – 64.6 percent

6) Encountering other beings, either mystical beings or deceased relatives or friends – 57.3 percent

In addition, to identifying twelve major near-death experience elements, Dr. Long has prepared nine proofs which support his view that these near-death experiences are true. These nine proofs are as follows:

1) Crystal-Clear Consciousness

The level of consciousness and alertness during near-death experiences is usually greater than the experience during their everyday life even though near-death experiences generally occur while unconscious or clinically dead. The elements in near-death experiences generally follow a consistent and logical order.

2) Realistic Out-of-Body Experiences

What near-death experiencers see and hear in the out of body state during their near-death experiences is generally realistic, and often verified later by the near-death experiencers or others as real.

3) Heightened Senses

Normal or super-normal vision occurs in near-death experiences among those with significantly impaired vision or even legal blindness. Several near-death experiencers who were blind from birth have reported highly visual near-death experiences.

4) Consciousness During Anesthesia

Typical near-death experiences occur under general anesthesia at a time when conscious experience should be impossible.

5) Perfect Playback

Life reviews in near-death experiences include real events that took place in the near-death experiencers lives, even if the events had been forgotten.

6) Family Reunions

When near-death experiencers encounter beings they knew from their earthly life, they are virtually always deceased, and usually deceased relatives.

7) Children’s Experiences

The near-death experiences of children, including very young children, are strikingly similar to the near-death experiences of older children and adults.

8) Worldwide Consistency

Near-death experiences appear strikingly consistent around the world. Many near-death experiences from non-Western countries are very similar to typical Western near-death experiences.

9) Changed Lives

Changes in the lives of near-death experiencers after their experiences – the near-death experience aftereffects – are common. Aftereffects are often powerful, lasting, and the changes follow a consistent pattern. Aftereffects include: decreased fear of death, increased belief in the afterlife, a stronger sense of spirituality, a sense of God’s presence, an awareness of the meaning and purpose of life, a belief in the sacredness of life, a greater appreciation of life, a reduced interest in material gain or status, seek out helping or healing professions, 45 percent reported special gifts, people with very serious illnesses – both physical and mental – believe they were healed, increasingly loving and accepting of themselves, more self confidence, increased awareness of the needs of others and a willingness to reach out to them, may end negative and unloving relationships, and seek out positive and loving relationships, increasing capacities for love and compassion can result in stronger marriages and relationships, and increased intelligence (at least in children).

This is Dr. Long’s own words on these nine proofs, “By scientifically studying the more than 1,300 cases shared with NDERF, I believe that the nine lines of evidence presented in this book all converge on one central point: There is life after death.” According to Dr. Long, “you can’t fake the effects of a near-death experience,” and this certainly seems to be the case as 73.1 percent reported that their lives had changed significantly as the result of their near-death experience.

B) Testimony of Ellen F.

This is a very interesting testimony of a 17 year old young woman just this year on March 2nd, which was submitted online by the Near Death Experience Research Foundation (NDERF), who had a hellish near-death experience after overdosing on drugs,

“I was at work at a grocery store, and my brother and his friend came to visit me. They had a drug called spice(k2)[synthetic cannabis] that you smoke. I have a weak body and the drug was very strong. I overdosed and passed out in the back of my brothers car. They then left and were gone for at least 10-15 minutes. I remember seeing my body from above and having no physical feeling at all. I was then sucked downward into an unending tunnel or a vortex. It was very dark and there were red and orange flames everywhere. I was aware that I was dying and was frantic but could not escape and come back or wake up. There was the strongest emotional and spiritual feeling of being oppressed in every possible way. It is almost unexplainable how much emotional pain I felt. It was almost as if every negative feeling I had ever felt in my life were being forced on me at once. Flashes of my past and terrible choices and mistakes I had made flew by me. I also saw faces of my family members and they were all crying. I knew I was going to hell, and it was a million times worse than I had ever imagined. There was no physical pain but I was being tortured emotionally for everything wrong I had ever done in life. In the spiritual world this seemed to go on for many years, yet I was somehow aware that it was only minutes on earth. I remember being sorry for all the things I had done and having complete regret. I then was pulled out of the tunnel and hovered in light. I heard who I believe was God telling me I was being saved and given a second chance at life. I immediately felt peace and could feel my body again. A few minutes later my brother came back and shook me until I woke up.”

door to hell

Ellen claimed of having heightened senses, she was reminded of her sins during her experience, and time had lost all meaning as she puts it, “It seemed to be a whole different kind of time…I understood that the spiritual world does not have the same concept of passing time like earth does.” Ellen had some remarkable changes to her life – she quickly became a Christian, attended Christian boarding school, and has found deliverance from her drug, alcohol and smoking addictions. You can read the rest of her story here.

Dr. Long reports that about 10% of the near-death experiences, which he has documented, has been of a hellish nature. As such, the misconception that there is total and complete acceptance on the other side is quite false.

Conclusion

What conclusion can we draw from these various testimonies and results? Well, beginning with the testimonies, namely that of Case A, the 57 year old social worker, his testimony is absolutely consistent with the description of Heaven given to us in the Bible. We actually see what may be a possible tunnel experience that seems to be tucked away within Micah 7:7-9:

Micah 7:7-9
Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.
Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.
I will bear the indignation of the LORD, because I have sinned against him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness.

We know that God is light, the Bible is full of scriptures connecting God and light exactly as Micah 7:7-9 does (Psalms 44:3; Ezekiel 1:27, 28; Ezekiel 8:2; 2 Corinthians 4:6; Ezekiel 43:2; Ezekiel 10:4; Habakkuk 3:4; Revelation 22:5):

John 8:12
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

1 John 1:5
This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

Revelation 21:23
And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

holy city of new jerusalem

There is an amazing city that the Bible says is in Heaven right now, the Bible promises to us that this city will come down upon Earth one day, it is called New Jerusalem and “…the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass” (Revelation 21:2, 18, 21) – it is crystal clear exactly as the social worker reported. We even have confirmation of the river that the social worker describes, “And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb” (Revelation 22:1):

Psalms 46:4
There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.

We know that God promises to sprinkle us with water and make us clean in Ezekiel 36:25, “Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you,” it is possible that when this social worker saw people bathing in the river, this was quite possibly God fulfilling this promise to them in a literal way. Concerning the social workers claim of seeing faceless people, this is certainly no shock to informed Christians who know their Bible. The Bible actually prophesies that those who are dead in Christ and those alive right now are waiting for new bodies that will be incorruptible and amazing (1 Corinthians 15:42-44, 52; 1 John 3:2) and that we will not tire in them and they will be perfect (Isaiah 40:31). But until that Day comes, the scriptures seem to tell us that the faithful servants of Christ who are dead right now have some sort of temporary spirit body referred to in 2 Corinthians 5:1 as a “house” built by God Himself – this temporary spirit body may very well be what the social worker saw:

2 Corinthians 5:1-3
For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:
If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.

Finally, there is beautiful music in Heaven, which was heard by this social worker, and this music is actually worship and praises directed to God (Psalms 22:3; Psalms 150:1-6; Psalms 21:13; Revelation 14:3; Revelation 15:3). Now, with respect to the hellish near-death experiences – they are also very consistent with the Bible’s claims of Hell. We see fear, anguish and fires of Hell in the Gospels:

Matthew 13:42
And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

deep dark bottomless pit

Descriptions of people falling into a tunnel as in Case B, with Ellen who had died from drug overdose, is consistent as we know that Hell is beneath the Earth’s surface and its oceans (Job 11:8; Proverbs 9:18; Ezekiel 31:16). We know that Hell is a place of absolute darkness (Matthew 25:30; Jude 1:6, 11-13; Matthew 8:11, 12). We know that it is a place of torments as indicated by Lazarus in the Parable of Lazarus and the Rich Man, “And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments…(Luke 16:23).” We know that the torments will be diverse and that some will be tormented more than others as in the case of the Parable of the Unfaithful Servant (Luke 12:35-48), where he is beaten with many stripes – which gives the implication that there is also few stripes. It seems that those who knew God and His Son, far better than others yet still reject Him, will be punished even more (Matthew 23:14, 15; 2 Peter 2:21, 22). The Bible completely supports the idea of heightened perceptions or senses in Heaven or Hell, “For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known (1 Corinthians 13:12).” Many near-death experiencers claim that after they died and met God, that they were often reminded of memories they had on Earth, as in the case with Ellen, she reported being reminded of her sins or having a life review. With respect to the Bible it says, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment (Hebrews 9:27).” This may be a part of the judging period and God Himself in some way or the other reminds us of our deeds (Hebrews 10:30, 31; Revelation 20:11-15; Revelation 22:12):

1 Corinthians 3:8, 11-15
Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.
If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

Romans 14:12
So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

Matthew 12:36
But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

2 Corinthians 5:10
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

Many near-death experiencers also experience a “different time” where time has no significance, this possibly refers to the time scale of “eternity” described in the Bible. The spirit realm seems to be governed by its own time scale that seems to go faster relative to time on Earth – this is confirmed when we read passages where it says, “For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday… (Psalms 90:4)” and “…one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” Am I saying that one day in the spiritual realm is literally one thousand years in the eyes of God? Not necessarily. These verses clearly convey the principle of the insignificance of time in the spiritual realm and in the eyes of God, who is the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity (Isaiah 57:15).

With all that said, it seems that the near-death experiences are confirming all that the Bible says concerning Heaven and Hell. The results of the studies and near-death experiences confirm the existence of the soul, a part of us that seems to survive death:

Matthew 10:28
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

2 Peter 1:13, 14
Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance; Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.

1 Corinthians 2:11
For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

John 5:24
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

Please note that all the evidence on the afterlife seems to point strictly to the Christian worldview – not reincarnation and all the possible responses to the question of what happens to us when we die – but only the Christian worldview. After all, the near-death experiencers are being “returned” or resurrected into their own bodies and not reincarnated into new ones. In addition to this, the near-death experiencers encounter a God who is very personal (Isaiah 41:10), intelligent (Psalms 139:1-4) and overflowing with love and compassion (1 John 4:8; John 3:16) – these facts are likewise very problematic for eastern religions as their definition of God is an impersonal being or “force” that is incapable of displaying human emotions and characteristics. Of course, we know that the impersonal view of God is now false, in light of the testimonies and results but mainly by the fact that the Bible explains that if God created man in His own image and likeness then He would also be expected to express human emotions like love (Genesis 1:26, 27) and would likewise be a personal Being (Isaiah 45:22). We know from the Bible that those who have a distorted view of the nature of God and who reject Jesus Christ are denied eternal life, so please if you believe the eastern worldview’s interpretation of God – that we are all gods, that He is an impersonal God and that Jesus was merely an enlightened human being – then I must warn you that Jesus Himself confessed that eternal life is granted only to those who have a sound biblical view of the true God and His Son Jesus Christ:

John 17:3
And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

John 8:24
I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

John 3:36
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

God is the Creator of our souls and bodies (Zechariah 12:1; Psalms 139:13; Jeremiah 1:5), as such we are all held accountable to Him for our actions in this life. And I hope and pray that you accept Christ as your Lord and Saviour if you are not Christian. Jesus died for our sins so that our very souls can escape the penalty for our sins, which is death and Hell, and live with Him forever. I can’t imagine that anyone would want to pass up an opportunity like that. Your eternal destination hangs in the balance. In light of all that you may have learned here, do you really want to gamble away your soul?:

Mark 8:36-38
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

Complex Machines in the Cell That Could Not Have Evolved

1) The Workhorse of the Cell: Kinesin

These are amazing masterpieces of micro-engineering. Kinesins are motorized transport machines made of proteins, that deliver cellular components where they are needed by attaching them to their  tail-like structures  (Endow, 2003). They literally walk on two legs which are called, “globular heads” which temporarily bind to microtubules, microtubules help to support the cell, in the same way that our skeletons support our own bodies (Goodsell, 2005a; Vale, 2003). The amazing thing is that this same “skeleton” is cleverly used as a highway for the Kinesins to deliver these loads which are often several times greater than their own size (Maroidis et al, 2004).

They were discovered back in 1984, and will continue to amaze the scientists and bewilder the skeptics. It has been determined that if Kinesins did not exist, life would not have even made it to the embryo stage of development quite literally!

2) ATP Synthase: The power plant of the cell

ATP Synthases are the micromolecular power generators in the cell. It creates Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) which essentially acts as the batteries that power the cell. According to David Goodsell (2005b), “ATP synthase is one of the wonders of the molecular world” and I will explain why. The structure seen in the video above, that resembles a “gear” is referred to by biologists as the F0 synthase rotor, the spinning of this rotor is fueled by protons that are fed onto it, the protons are illustrated as little “beads” on the F0 synthase rotor in the opening picture for this post. Similar charges tend to repel, so as the F0 synthase rotor is fed with more protons (which are all positively charged), the structure attempts to repel away. But the manner in which the structure is fixed in place, restricts the repulsive force to only result in circular motion. So just as wind causes a windmill to spin, the same can be said for the static charge of protons that propels the F0 synthase rotor to move.

The rotational energy of the F0 synthase rotor is transmitted by a shaft which penetrates into the structure called the  F1 synthase rotor (Boyer, 1997).  F1 synthase rotor houses the catalytic core of the enzyme which creates ATP from Adenosine Diphosphate (ADP) and a phosphate molecule (Block, 1997; Maroidis et al, 2004). An alternative video that explains the finer details not described in the above video can be viewed here. So, I believe David Goodsell is perfectly justified in using his description of these cellular machines.

Where Does the Evidence Leads Us?

Kinesins and ATP Synthases both show undeniable signs of design, in the same way that a watch must have had a watchmaker. If you looked at the videos you can see clearly that they are similar to our man-made technology – they have motors, rotors, shafts, use electric charges to drive motion as in the case with ATP Synthase and even feature bipedal locomotion as in the case with Kinesins like a microscopic robot. In spite of these examples Evolutionists adamantly believe that they could have been evolved, but this is simply not true. In order to make these two machines we need enzymes. The odds of producing these enzymes are astronomical if it was ever done by Evolution. I will let the experts explain:

“Life cannot have had a random beginning … The trouble is that there are about 2000 enzymes, and the chance of obtaining them all in a random trial is only one part in 10^40,000, an outrageously small probability that could not be faced even if the whole universe consisted of organic soup.” – Sir Fred Hoyle and Professor Chandra Wickramasinghe, Evolution from Space (1981)

“Once we see, however, that the probability of life originating at random is so utterly miniscule as to make it absurd, it becomes sensible to think that the favorable properties of physics on which life depends are in every respect deliberate…It is therefore almost inevitable that our own measure of intelligence must reflect … higher intelligences … even to the limit of God … such a theory is so obvious that one wonders why it is not widely accepted as being self-evident. The reasons are psychological rather than scientific.” – Sir Fred Hoyle and Professor Chandra Wickramasinghe, Evolution from Space (1981).

Sir Fred Hoyle and Professor Chandra Wickramasinghe clearly explains that we could not have evolved by chance,  it is as simple as that. And the surprising thing is that these two men are not even Christians! Right now while you are reading this post there are countless trillions of these Kinesins and ATP Synthases busy at work, maintaining and fueling your cells to keep you alive. I can’t help but be reminded of the words of king David in Psalms 139:14:

Psalms 139:14
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

I think David knew exactly what he was saying in that Psalm, and I am convinced that God had at some level revealed this to him. It is well and good for us all to recognize that we are indeed special, but what about Charles Darwin and his theory? Charles Darwin at the time that he proposed the Evolution Theory had no clue that cells were even this complex, back then he and the scientists of the time thought that the cell was merely a blob of jelly, with no significance, of course we know now that this is absolutely wrong and the video at the end of this post will make that clear to you. Most people do not know that Charles had admitted in his book, that if any complex structures were ever found, then his theory would crumble:

“If it could be demonstrated that any complex organ existed, which could not possibly have been formed by numerous, successive, slight modifications, my theory would absolutely break down. But I can find no such case.” – Charles Darwin, The Origin of Species.

Well Charlie, by your own admission and in light of the existence of Kinesins and ATP Synthases, your theory has absolutely broken down. There is no conceivable way that Kinesins and ATP Synthases could have evolved as they are remarkably complex and have no transitional structures to even propose their origins. This complexity proves that there must be a Designer, and that Designer is a creative,  all-knowing and all-powerful God. Case closed.

What is the Age of the Earth?

The above and below videos are amazing videos by Creationists and I strongly advise that you take a look at them. In this seminar, Dr. Hovind explains what is the age of the Earth. Surprisingly, there is scientific evidence that shows that the Earth may actually be only 6000 years old. Some of you, especially the evolutionists, may immediately object to say: “The Earth is 4.54 billions of years old! What in the world are you and Dr. Hovind talking about? Science have proven this age a long time ago!”

My question to you all is this: Do you know exactly how these scientists determined the age of the Earth? Are you aware of the faulty assumptions used to determine the age of 4.54 billions of years old? Well they have done this mainly through the use of radiometric dating methods. In this article, I hope to explain how these dating methods are performed, the flaws of the assumptions that are made in the dating calculations and why the age determined by the scientists may be wrong. A lot of the information that I will share with you now is actively being suppressed by mainstream scientists as it discredits the evolution theory, some of the data maybe completely new to you and hurts the evolutionist’s world view. I will first start off by using an hourglass as an analogy to explain radiometric dating.

radiometric dating hourglass
Hourglasses have two chambers with a narrow passage connecting them. A medium like sand is filled within one chamber and is emptied into to the other by gravity. We can tell how long an hour glass has been running by learning a few simple facts:

1) If we measure the amount of sand in each chamber.

2) If we know the rate of the sand falling between the chambers.

3) If we assume how much sand was originally in each chamber.

4) If we assume that no sand is added or removed from the chambers.

5) If we assume that the falling rate of the sand remains the same or is constant.

Now let’s compare this hourglass analogy to the radiometric dating techniques. Radioactive atoms are unstable “parent” atoms by nature and they break down (decay) with time to form stable “daughter” atoms. Just as in the hourglass analogy we can determine the time passed by the observing the amount of sand, the same is done for radiometric dating, the amount of  particles remaining in the material is used as the means to date the same material.

One of the dating methods involve a mineral in granite called zircon, imagine that zircon is the hourglass now, within the top chamber, is the parent radioactive atoms of uranium within this same zircon and at the base chamber we have lead particles. Scientists make the following assumptions when determining the age of zircon and use these results to determine the age of the Earth:

1) It is assumed that zircon starts off with only uranium particles and no lead particles.

2) It takes 4.5 billions of years for the total number of original uranium atoms to reduce by half and decay to lead.

3) The rate of uranium changing into lead is always assumed constant.

4) Zircon crystals do not suffer from addition and/or subtraction of uranium and lead particles.

Now, if all the assumptions are true then we can accurately determine the age of the zircon minerals in granite and by extension determine the age of the Earth! Right? Wrong!

1) The Initial Conditions Assumption is Flawed!

Theoretically when we date freshly solidified lava flows we would expect that the date would be zero. Correct? But this is never the case, for instance, when freshly made rock samples from 1986 rock at Mt. St. Helens’ lava dome were dated by Potassium-Argon dating, the dates of these rock were found to be between 0.5 to 2.8 millions of years old (Austin, 1996)! Potassium-Argon dating is similar to the uranium-lead dating method, that I have just explained, this time potassium is in the upper chamber and lead is in the lower chamber of my hourglass analogy. Scientists got dates of 164 million and 3 billion years for two Hawaiian lava flows, the interesting thing to note is that these lava flows happened only about 200 years ago in 1800 and 1801 (Parker and Parker, 1979; Kofahl and Segraves, 1975). Underwater lava flows from Kilauea volcano on a Hawaiian island gave an age of 22 millions of years old when the flow was known to have occurred less than 200 years ago (Slusher, 1981).

mt st helens eruption
Another study done on freshly made Hawaiian basalt rock performed by Evernden et al (1964) produced seven different ages ranging from the known zero years old all the way to 3.34 millions of years old (Morris, 1974a). Surprising, Evernden et al (1964) determined the average age of the seven ages to be 250,000 years old and accepted that as the age of the rock despite knowing that it was freshly made. We should be alarmed by this, using an average as a statistical method to find a final age is seriously flawed! It is like the equivalent of finding the collective average age of a mixed group of senior citizens and toddlers, any such average age would simply be meaningless data. This shocks me deeply because it raises the question – how many other scientists have done such flawed science and mathematics and have passed it off to us as scientific truth?

To make matters even worse, when different types of radiometric dating methods are used to date the very same rocks they often do not yield the same age. A few volcanic rocks from Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean was tested using Potassium-Argon dating and yielded an age between 100,000 to 2 million years old, while when tested using Uranium-Lead dating on the very same rocks an age of 2.2 billion to 4.4 billion years was determined (Kofahl and Segraves, 1975). In fact, deviations in ages done by various dating methods is a very common trend when using radiometric dating – how can we know if either is correct? Nevertheless, there is a serious problem here and I hope you see it. Not only does the dating method get things wrong but it oftentimes do not even agree with each other. Can we really trust these methods? A Christian has even more reason to not have faith in the radiometric dating methods because God tells us, “…cursed is the ground for thy sake… (Genesis 3:17),” we live on a flawed planet and we should be cautious if we ever attempt to find truth only from our planet.

The inconsistencies do not stop there living animals of known recent age have been tested and found to be several years old. The shells of living mollusks have been dated using the carbon-14 dating method, and were dated to be 2300 years old (Keith and Anderson, 1963). Living snails were dated using carbon-14 and found to be 27,000 years old (Riggs, 1984)! A freshly killed seal was dated using carbon-14 dating and was found to be 1300 years old (Wakefield, 1971). One part of a Vollosovitch mammoth was dated to be 29,500 years old and another part of this same mammoth was dated at 44,000 years old (Péwé, 1975). All these pieces of information may not necessarily prove radiometric dating is wrong but it certainly proves that it is flawed. If things of known ages are dated and found to be false then why should we have complete confidence when things of unknown ages are dated, like the Earth?

2) Radioactive particle amounts can change!

Carbon-14 dating is slightly different to the uranium-lead and potassium-argon dating methods that I have explained, in this dating method, the ratio of radioactive carbon-14 particles are compared to the carbon-12 particles to determine dates. Carbon-14 dating is only done on living matter unlike the other methods I covered. Carbon-14 atoms are originally formed by nitrogen which are bombarded by radiation from the sun, the carbon-14 then decays to stabilize once more back to nitrogen and the process is repeated over time.

carbon 14 dating

However, there is an outside component that is not included in the assumption by scientists which is the Earth’s magnetic field. The Earth’s magnetic field deflects harmful radiation from the sun and thus impacts the carbon-14 to carbon-12 ratio. Mankind has only studied the Earth’s magnetic field over the last 150 years and the overall trend has showed that the Earth’s magnetic field is decreasing in strength, by inference, the Earth’s magnetic field was stronger in the Earth’s past. Correct? Which also means that less radiation would have made it through to create radioactive carbon-14 atoms from nitrogen. This is an interesting and overlooked fact, as it means that animals and plants in the Earth’s past would have absorbed far less carbon-14 atoms than expected by scientists. When this low carbon-14 content is applied to the carbon-14 dating calculations they produce a false old age.

This fact about carbon-14 radiometric dating results are even made more unreliable when one considers the canopy of water that possibly enveloped the Earth before the global flood, documented in the Bible, this canopy of water is hinted to have existed above the firmament, an expanse which we know to be the Earth’s atmosphere:

Genesis 1:6
And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

Clouds today block and absorb some radiation, so this water canopy could have absorbed a lot more radiation than usual and hence would have further introduced more inaccurate measurements when radiometric carbon-14 dating is done, because it would have blocked off radiation from bombarding nitrogen to produce more carbon-14. This very low carbon-14 content in our Earth’s history when absorbed by animals of that time would have created an illusion that a large amount of time passed when in reality it may not have ever been the case.

With regards to uranium-lead dating, there are places on Earth that behave as “natural nuclear reactors.” Gabon, a country in Africa has been found to be one such place,  just Google the phrase: “natural nuclear reactors,” these locations are rich in uranium. How does this contribute to my argument? Well, man-made nuclear reactors actually speed up the rate of radioactive decay producing the same illusion of millions of years passing by. So, when this occurs naturally this illusion of “old age” is ingrained within granite rich in zircon which is tested by scientists and in turn gives us the billions of years. Now the greater problem here is that these natural nuclear reactors can contaminate other rocks giving them all this same illusion of “old age.” I hope that you see now that these dating methods may be completely wrong about the Earth being 4.54 billions of years old.

Apart from those two flawed assumptions for the radiometric dating methods, we know of even greater problems which actually suggest that the Earth is actually quite young!

1) Helium in Zircon

Helium in zircon
During the radioactive decay of the parent uranium atom into lead, eight helium atoms are produced. The rate of helium gas which is released has been measured, theoretically it is agreed by scientists that virtually no helium should remain within these granite rocks that are all alleged to be billions of years old. In reality this is not the case, there are large amounts of helium within the granite rocks which actually indicates that these rocks are actually 6000, plus or minus 2000 years old (Humphreys, 2005)!

2) Carbon-14 in Diamonds, Coal and “Old” Rocks

Carbon-14 has a half-life of 5730 years which means that when a total sample of carbon-14 reaches half its original amount, 5730 years would have passed by. Carbon-14 levels would be reduced to virtually zero in a sample when 60,000 years have passed. However, there are large quantities of carbon-14 found within diamonds, coal and rocks that are allegedly millions of years old (Baumgardner, 2003). Some may make the claim that these samples were contaminated, but how do you explain the existence of carbon-14 in diamonds? Diamonds are alleged to take over 45 millions of years to form within the Earth and once solidified  everything “freezes” in place making it impervious to any possible contamination, yet carbon-14 is still found in them. As such this limits the Earth to less than 60,000 years old.

3) DNA Mutations

Geneticists have examined the rate of genetic mutation or genetic damage in the human DNA of mitochondria, which generate the energy for our cells to use. All these genetic mutations are passed down from mothers to offspring and accumulate with time due to radiation from our sun. When comparing this rate of genetic damage to the amount of genetic damage observed already (remember our hourglass analogy), geneticists have determined that all humans have originated from a single mother, who lived about 6000 years ago, which completely verifies what is told to us by the Bible (Gibbons, 1998). In fact, Christians even know the woman’s name! It was Eve!

4) Fossil DNA

DNA has been alleged to never survive past 10,000 years. However, bacteria which are supposed to be 250 million years old, according to evolutionists, have been found with intact DNA (Vreeland et al., 2000).  Insects trapped in amber also have been found with intact DNA even though they are claimed to be millions of years old (Cherfas, 1991). This matter is exacerbated even further when fresh red blood cells and soft tissues of dinosaurs, which are claimed to exist over 65 millions of years ago, have been recovered with intact DNA (Schweitzer et al., 2005). Below are actual photos of these dinosaur tissue samples.

5) Earth’s Magnetic Field
I have touched on this earlier, that the Earth’s magnetic field’s strength is decreasing. When the data known about the Earth’s magnetic field is extrapolated it has been calculated to be no more than 10,000 years old. If it was any older than that age, then life would not even survive on Planet Earth (Humphreys, 2002)!

6) Carbon-14 dating actually proves the Earth maybe young

Dr. Willard Libby, the founder of carbon-14 dating, inadvertently admitted that his own carbon-14 dating method may be flawed. He stated in his book that the carbon-14 to carbon-12 levels on Earth needed to be constant for radiometric carbon-14 dating to even work. He had this to say, “If the cosmic radiation has remained at its present intensity for 20,000 or 30,000 years, and if the carbon reservoir has not changed appreciably in this time, then there exists at the present time a complete balance between the rate of disintegration of radiocarbon atoms and the rate of assimilation of new radiocarbon atoms for all material in the life-cycle (Libby, 1952).” This statement has not been the case, as I discussed earlier cosmic radiation levels are never constant, in fact this ratio has been scientifically proven to not be in equilibrium even though the Earth is allegedly “billions” of years old, nevertheless, Libby has ignored this clear problem that his dating method has.  Libby’s statement is actually quite telling, the fact that the Earth’s carbon-14 to carbon-12 ratio is still not in equilibrium shows that there is a possibly that the Earth maybe less than 30,000 years old.

The above are only six of the hundreds of various methods which when combined limit the Earth to roughly 6000 years old. An age which is in complete harmony with the same age given to us by the Bible, which is found by adding up the ages of the men when they fathered their sons, from the genealogies that are given to us. Please share and like this article, I hope this blessed you all and I hope that you learned some amazing new things.
