Pope Francis and his Heresies: Is Rome the seat of the Antichrist?



On March 13th 2013, Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio from Argentina was elected as the new pope. He has been claimed to be the final pope of the St. Malachy prophecy which indicates these following details about the rule of the final pope (Bander, 1969):

“Peter the Roman, who will pasture his sheep in many tribulations, and when these things are finished, the city of seven hills [i.e. Rome] will be destroyed, and the dreadful judge will judge his people.”

Even an Apparition of “Mary” has this to say about the Vatican in the last days at La Salette on September 19, 1846:


“Rome would lose the Faith and become the seat of the antichrist . . . The Church will be in eclipse.”

I do not always agree with the Marian Apparitions, but even a broken clock is always right twice a day, so I think it is interesting that this entity tells us this. Well where is the proof for all this? I will show you a few of the major heresies, some of which, has convinced even Roman Catholics that this pope is a heretic:


1) Pope Francis heretical ideas on Judaism

In the Cathedral of Buenos Aires, Argentina on April 15th 1998, Francis held an inter-religious service to honor deceased Jews.  Francis said to the Jews: “we are all brothers, because we have the seal of God in our hearts.” Really? The orthodox Jews do not recognize Jesus Christ as the Messiah, and certainly do not acknowledge His divinity. The Bible tells us this in John:


John 8:24
I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.


So, if a person does not recognize Jesus as their God and Savior (Jude 1:25) then that person will die in their sins and bear the punishment for their sins which is eternal destruction and separation from God in a place called Hell (Romans 6:23; Matthew 25:46). Now, the pope in that quote clearly believes that the Jews and Christians serve the same God; I hope that you learned now that this is not technically the case, and the Jews require the redeeming blood of Jesus Christ just as anyone else (Romans 3:23).

On October 11th 2012 Francis gave Rabbi Abraham Skorka, a well-known supporter of homosexuality, an honorary degree at a Catholic university.  After the rabbi received the degree, he said: “We are waiting for the Messiah, but in order for him to come we have to prepare the land…”  It must be noted that this Rabbi rejected Jesus as the Messiah, right in front of the pope with no objection by the pope or the clergy in attendance. At Argentina, the pope visited the shrine of St. Cajetan on the 7th August 2013, he said, “Do you need to convince the other to become Catholic? No, no, no! Go out and meet him, he is your brother. This is enough,” which is, of course, contrary to what the Bible teaches, we are commanded by Jesus to take the gospel to all the corners of the Earth (Matthew 28:19, 20)!

2) Pope Francis and his heretical thoughts on Islam

On August 2nd 2005, Francis prayed before the dead body of the Muslim president of the Islamic Center of Argentina. The Imam leading the service was reciting passages of the Qur’an and praying that their prophet Muhammad blessed this deceased Islamic leader. Francis at the service said: “With my prayer I ask the creator, the most merciful to repay him for all the good he did.” Francis even goes on to call the Muslim a “believer” this obviously has no biblical merit as I pointed out earlier as he equates the God of the Bible with Allah. Allah according to the Qur’an has no son (Surah 6:101; Surah 4:171), Jesus never died on the cross; an impostor died and was made to look like Jesus according to the Qur’an. Allah even takes pride in himself that he deceived the Jews into believing that they killed Jesus (Surah 3:54; Surah 4:157, 158). So, this is most certainly not the same God of the Bible.

Roman Catholics who learned of this ceremony was outraged, even St. Thomas Aquinas once taught: “If anyone were to worship at the tomb of Muhammad, he would be deemed an apostate.” Francis by participating in the service for this Muslim leader, committed an offense that is not much different than worshiping at the tomb of Muhammad. In his Homily of July 8, 2013 Francis spoke to Muslims saying: “I also think with affection of those Muslim immigrants who this evening begin the fast of Ramadan, which I trust will bear abundant spiritual fruit.” “Spiritual Fruit,” really Pope Francis? Ramadan is nothing more than a pagan Arabic practice revived by Islam. In the Bible God, warns us to never use pagan practices to please Him, something that both Muslims and Roman Catholics are guilty of as they both use prayer beads which is also done by the Hindus and Buddhists:

Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.
Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for every abomination to the LORD, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods.
What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

3) Pope Francis heretical ideas on false religions

On pg. 236 of Francis’ book, “On Heaven and Earth,” he says, “I am respectful of all new spiritual proposals… Surviving the passage of time is the major test of spiritual purity.” Wow Pope Francis, I suppose Hinduism and Buddhism are acceptable means to get to God now. Imagine in a few centuries even Beyism, Beyoncé’s new religion, will deliver souls to Heaven – and the Angels rejoiced! No, this is blatant heresy, it is a denial of Jesus Christ and His claim to be the only way to God:


John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

1 Timothy 2:5
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;


Francis, in an address on May 18th 2013 demanded, “… promote religious freedom for everyone, everyone!  Every man and every woman must be free in his or her profession of religion, whatever it may be (Vatican City, 2013).” This may sound good in the ears of uninformed people, but informed Christians know that Jesus never made it His primary duty to promote religious freedom, first and foremost He encourages us to spread the gospel throughout the world, so that everyone who trusts in Him may be saved:


Matthew 28:19, 20
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

4) Pope Francis even declares that Atheists go to Heaven!

In his book “On Heaven and Earth on pg. 12 and 13 he says, “I do not approach the relationship in order to proselytize, or convert the atheist; I respect him… nor would I say that his life is condemned, because I am convinced that I do not have the right to make a judgment about the honesty of that person… every man is the image of God, whether he is a believer or not.  For that reason alone everyone has a series of virtues, qualities, and a greatness of his own.”

During a sermon at the Vatican, he even boldly proclaims to the crowd, “The Lord has redeemed all of us, all of us, with the Blood of Christ: all of us, not just Catholics. Everyone! ‘Father, the atheists?’ Even the atheists. Everyone!”

In response to the pope’s statement Roy Speckhardt, executive director of the American Humanist Association, had this to say, “While humanists have been saying for years that one can be good without a god, hearing this from the leader of the Catholic Church is quite heartening.” A Vatican representative quickly retracted the statement by the pope and gave the biblical correct statement, however, this statement still gives us insight into how the pope personally views atheism and salvation. His statement is anti-biblical as I pointed out earlier and serves only to give atheists like Roy Speckhardt a false hope. Jesus is the only way to God (John 14:6) and we need to believe and trust in Him (Acts 16:31) and must live a daily repentant life in service to God:

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?


5) Pope Francis’ relaxed ideas on sin

Within the book, “Pope Francis: Conversations with Jorge Bergoglio: His Life in His Own Words,” the pope says, “I often say that the only glory we have, as Saint Paul says, is that of being sinners.” Wow, since when did Paul indicated that it is an honor to be a sinner? Paul actually says that sin has placed all creation in bondage and great agony (Romans 8:22). Francis further says, “That’s why, for me, sin is not a stain I need to clean,” which is once again a very heretical statement:

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;


On the other hand, we learn that the pope’s idea of sin is very distorted by this statement on pg 129 of the same book, “… it is a problem of sin.  For four years Argentina has been living a sinful existence because it has not taken responsibility for those who have no food or work.” So, actual “sin” in Francis’ mind is having “no food or work,” in God’s eyes such matters are not to be our primary focus:

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.


6) Francis’ acceptance of Homosexual relations

Francis, while he was in Argentina has been proven to be open-minded to idea of same-sex relationships, however, he is against the idea of calling a same-sex union marriage as the Bible defines it. On pg. 117 of the book, “On Heaven and Earth” he says, “When the head of the Government of the City of Buenos Aires, Mauricio Macri, did not appeal the judge’s opinion right away authorizing a [same-sex] wedding.  I felt that I had something to say, to inform; I saw myself with an obligation to state my opinion.  It was the first time in eighteen years as bishop that I criticized a government official.  If you analyze the two declarations that I formulated, at no time did I speak about homosexuals nor did I make any derogatory reference toward them… Macri told me that these were his convictions; I respected him for that, but the head of the Government does not have to transfer his personal convictions to law.  In no moment did I speak disrespectfully about homosexuals…” Such words does not echo the words that one would expect from a true man of God, concerning the issue of homosexuality:

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.


7) The overwhelming support of Freemasons for Pope Francis

The Grand Masters of the Grand Orient Lodges of Italy and Argentina have openly congratulated Pope Francis when he was elected as pope. Why would they do this for a pope, unless that pope is a member of the Freemasons. The Freemasons are very open to the idea of all religions leading to God, which is clearly the same view of this pope. Below you will see a photo of the pope showing a masonic hand gesture to the camera. It should be no shock to us that Napoleon, Stalin and Albert Pike who was a 33rd degree mason show this same masonic gesture. There are some that would object to this point by claiming the pope is anti-freemasonry. Not so fast, if such was truly the case this pope would have to expect a very short reign like the 33 day reign of Pope John Paul I. Note well, that the number 33 is an important masonic number.

I think that it is ironic that Peter, the so-called first pope has this to say about heretics and false prophets:


2 Peter 2:1-3
But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.


Heresy and unbiblical ideas of popes is certainly not new to the history Roman Catholicism. Below is a list of some of the worst popes in history recorded in the book, “The Bad Popes” written by E. R. Chamberlin (Chamberlin, 1986):

1) Pope Stephen VI (896–897), who had his predecessor Pope Formosus exhumed, tried, de-fingered, briefly reburied, and thrown in the Tiber.

2) Pope John XII (955–964), who gave land to a mistress, murdered several people, and was killed by a man who caught him in bed with his wife.

3) Pope Benedict IX (1032–1044, 1045, 1047–1048), who “sold” the Papacy.

4) Pope Boniface VIII (1294–1303), who is lampooned in Dante’s Divine Comedy.

5) Pope Urban VI (1378–1389), who complained that he did not hear enough screaming when Cardinals who had conspired against him were tortured.

6) Pope Alexander VI (1492–1503), a Borgia, who was guilty of nepotism and whose unattended corpse swelled until it could barely fit in a coffin.

7) Pope Leo X (1513–1521), a spendthrift member of the Medici family who once spent 1/7 of his predecessors’ reserves on a single ceremony.

8) Pope Clement VII (1523–1534), also a Medici, whose power-politicking with France, Spain, and Germany got Rome sacked.


If you are a Roman Catholic and reading this, please turn to the Bible and not man’s traditions. Listen to the voice of the Good Shepherd and not this Idol Shepherd (Zechariah 11:17):
