Modern Technology Which the Bible Predicted Would Be Invented

I am constantly bombarded with angry remarks from non-Christians like this one, “Why do you bother to read and follow the Bible? It’s just a moldy book that belongs in the trash!” Well, to set the record straight that moldy book have predicted the invention of several advance technology, that we almost cannot live without today, thousands of years in advance. Don’t believe me? Take a look at the video above, which offers several examples of fulfilled prophecies, take a look at the two final videos which close this post and please keep on reading. I must warn you though, that once you glean over all the material in this article you will never look at the Bible in the same way again:

1) The Anticipation of Mass Media and Telecommunications
2) Allusion to Public Transport
3) Prophesied Arrival of The Internet and Social Media
4) Even Microchips Were Predicted!
5) Prediction of Weapons of Mass Destruction

1) The Anticipation of Mass Media and Telecommunications

Modern Woman with a Smartphone and Tablet

The Book of Job, one of the oldest books of the Bible, which was written almost 4000 years ago gave us this very interesting verse:

Job 38:35
Canst thou SEND lightnings, that they may go, and SAY unto thee, Here we are?

This ancient scripture seems to suggest that electricity can be used to actually send messages – please remember this was written about 4000 years ago. The very first electrical message was successfully sent by Sir Francis Ronalds’ primitive electrostatic telegraph, which was perfected by Pavel Schilling, who made the electromagnetic telegraph in 1832. Mankind only discovered this property of electricity less than 200 years ago, while the Bible has alluded to this several millennia ago. Please note that this is just the tip of the iceberg!

Revelation 11:9, 10
And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall SEE their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.
And they that DWELL UPON THE EARTH shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall SEND GIFTS one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.

The above prophecy from the Book of Revelation implies that somehow, the news that two servants of God who will die, will spread quickly to the entire world in the future! This is a rather bold claim penned by John, the disciple of Jesus Christ, who wrote this around the late 80’s or early 90’s A.D. Right now, news travel at the speed of light, but back in those days news traveled at the speed of horseback, yet this prophecy clearly hints that these two men will be seen by the entire world, LIVE, over the span of three and a half days! I am reminded of Osama bin Laden’s death. Remember that event? When most of the world celebrated, while some sympathetic to his cause mourned, as such, this is precisely the sort of event which will happen in Revelation 11:9, 10. If you know anything about me, I am a strong believer in the idea that history tends to repeat itself:

Ecclesiastes 1:9, 10
The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.

Americans celebrating the death of Osama Bin Laden

So, that distasteful behavior, in my opinion, by some Americans when they learned of Osama bin Laden’s death gives us unique insight as to how the prophesied events of Revelation 11:9, 10 will unravel; it is like a snapshot for those events. This prophecy clearly alludes to the invention of television and mass media. In fact, Bible critics always laughed at those verses before, until the invention of television. So, is this just a coincidence? Well, that is quite a coincidence, that the Bible indirectly predicted that television, mass media and telecommunications would be invented. The fact that the people exchanged gifts in Revelation 11:10, is incredibly telling as well! Why is that gift-giving detail significant? It seems to me that the Bible anticipated, well ahead of time, that the world would later celebrate holidays worldwide, which involved exchanging gifts – like Christmas! Please keep in mind that the Book of Revelation was written all the way back in the 1st century A.D. These prophecies are just so amazing!

Matthew 24:15-18
When ye therefore shall SEE the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

How can people in Judea, or on their housetops and in the fields will see what is occurring in the Holy place also know as the Holy of Holies in Matthew chapter 24? Most people would easily overlook that scripture, but the Holy of Holies in the Temple was not some sort of public place like a stadium – it was a small chamber, which was visited by the high priest alone, once a year! Jesus is prophesying that when the Third Temple will be rebuilt, this event will occur and everyone will see this event unfold simultaneously! The only way people will “see the abomination of desolation” would be via global media coverage – it is the only explanation which makes sense.

Still not convinced that the Bible prophesied mass media? Take a look at this:

Malachi 1:11
For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same My name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in EVERY PLACE incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for My name shall be great among the heathen, saith the LORD of hosts.

Matthew 24:14
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in ALL THE WORLD for a witness unto ALL NATIONS; and then shall the end come.

Malachi 1:11, is significant as it alludes to mass media – only mass media would make sense of such a bold claim – that God’s name would be great among the Gentiles (non-Jews). Christianity is the largest religion on the planet with almost a third of the Earth’s population professing faith in Jesus Christ and billions more having high regard for Jesus Christ as either a prophet or an enlightened Being. The above prophecy in Matthew 24:14, uttered by Jesus Himself, demands the invention of technology which would make it possible. I will admit that this prophecy is only partly fulfilled for now, as it is still in progress. If you are still not a Christian, this is good news for you, please heed Jesus words and get saved before the end comes, but I must warn you that China, one of the final frontiers of the Gospel, has the Gospel spreading like wildfire now – these prophecies are on the very brink of being fulfilled.

2) Allusion to Public Transport

Yes, the Bible seems to strongly suggest that in the Last Days there will be public transportation systems in place. Take a look at the following passage in the Book of Daniel, which was written 605 to 536 B.C.:

cars boats

Daniel 12:4
But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall RUN TO AND FRO, and knowledge shall be increased.

On the surface, an individual would mistakenly say that this passage simply says that people would “run to and fro” over short distances, but the English language simply does not convey the full meaning properly – the Hebrew word used here for “run to and fro” according to Strong’s Concordance H7751 is “shuwt,” this word specifically is used to refer to transport covering massive distances, whenever it is used in the Bible (for examples see Job 1:7; 2 Chronicles 16:9; Amos 8:12; Zechariah 4:10). So yes, the Bible implies that mass travel will be available. This is further confirmed when you consider this next scripture which was penned by Isaiah around 740 to 680 B.C.:

Isaiah 60:4, 8
LIFT UP THINE EYES round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side.
Who are these that FLY as a CLOUD, and as the DOVES to their windows?

Just to give a little background into this passage, Isaiah 60:4, 8 describes a vision which God showed the prophet Isaiah, so Isaiah is simply writing what he saw in the vision. Isaiah 60:4, 8 seems to allude to airplanes believe it or not. Isaiah 60:8, uses poetic language, however, it is conveying the literal action of flight. On one hand, that verse describes people as clouds, a very common symbol used by the Bible, which represents vast numbers of people moving quickly (for examples see Hebrews 12:1; Matthew 24:30; Jude 1:14). On the other hand, that same passage describes some coming “as doves to their windows,” people are also described as doves in the scriptures, but whenever used it refers to small quantities or a remnant of people (Matthew 10:16; Jeremiah 48:28). How can we be certain that these people are actually flying in planes? There are two major reasons for this interpretation – the Bible went out of its way to say that “these fly,” in Isaaiah 60:8, the word here is transliterated as “`uwph,” according to Strong’s Concordance H5774, it is a Hebrew word primarily used to describe flight through the sky. The second reason why this interpretation seems entirely valid is the use of the words “lift up thine eyes,” in Isaiah 60:4, the Hebrew word used there according to Strong’s Concordance H5375, is transliterated as “nasa'” which means “to rise” or “to lift up.” Quick question: If Isaiah was merely seeing people on land or travelling by sea, then why on Earth was God telling him to lift up his eyes? Simple common sense combined with all that I have shared seems to strongly support the idea that what the prophet Isaiah saw was quite possibly people flying inside aircrafts. Of course, there was no Hebrew word available at the time for airplanes, as those were only invented in 1903 by the Wright brothers, so the closest terms he had available to use were “doves” and “clouds.”

3) Prophesied Arrival of The Internet and Social Media

This point goes hand in hand with my first point, so if you haven’t read my first point, then I will strongly recommend that you do so before you read this one here. The Bible prophesied that there will be a massive knowledge explosion in the Last Days as the following passage suggests:

Daniel 12:4
But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and KNOWLEDGE shall be INCREASED.

Knowledge has certainly risen by leaps and bounds with the invention of the internet, which makes multiple volumes of encyclopedias’ worth of knowledge accessible at one’s finger tips. The Bible has even prophesied social behaviors which is very prevalent in our time like widespread narcissism in the selfies movement, the pride, the sense of entitlement by children, all the mistrust, liars, obsession with materialism and many others:

adorable cat taking a selfie

2 Timothy 3:1-5
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
For men shall be lovers of their own SELVES, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce,
despisers of those that are good,
Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Second Timothy was written by the apostle Paul, all the way back in 63 A.D., and unless you have been living under a rock over the last decade, you cannot deny the blatant obsession with material possession as the passage says, “lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God.” Do you remember the images flooding the internet and social media, of a certain celebrity’s naked backside? My goodness, I could almost end this point with that recent fact alone, as it embodies almost all that Paul warned about above! The narcissism surrounding the selfies movement is clearly described, “men shall be lovers of their own selves.” These prophecies are so amazing, it is almost as if Paul had time traveled to our time, then time traveled back to his own time and wrote this stuff – his details are spot-on! However, I am sure that some who will read this point, may still think, “This is all just a coincidence recorded in an irrelevant and very moldy book!” Well my “moldy” book seems to have perfectly anticipated the rise of these evils like pride, pornography, materialism, etc. – read the following scriptures and you will see what I mean:

child watching tv

Psalms 101:3
I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

Psalms 119:36, 37
Incline my heart unto Thy testimonies, and not to covetousness.
Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken thou me in Thy way.

1 John 2:15-17
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

If the Bible is so irrelevant, then why is it that it seems to already be prepared to respond to these unhealthy social behaviors which are plaguing our society today? So, do not allow anyone to let you think that the Bible is irrelevant to this post-modern era or that the Bible needs to be twisted in order to compromise with today’s world – the Bible has anticipated all of these behaviors and have even offered simple inexpensive solutions on how to remedy them, as well as, overcoming the addictions associated with them.

4) Even Microchips Were Predicted!

The Bible seems to have foretold the rise of the RFID (Radio-frequency identification) chips. This technology can remotely transfer information via electromagnetic fields. Take a look at the following scripture:

RFID microchip next to a grain of rice

Revelation 13:16-18
And he (Antichrist) causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

There are many who oppose this interpretation of this “mark” of the beast, and claim that it is merely some sort of tattoo on the skin or something else, however, an in-depth study of the original Greek language used here discredits this “tattoo” claim. Strong’s Concordance G5480 tells us that the word in the Greek used for “mark” is transliterated as “charagma” and while this Greek word bears the meaning of “a stamp, an imprinted mark,” it also can refer to a “thing carved, sculpture, or graven work.” Therefore this “mark” of the beast can be something which is carefully fabricated or manufactured and the word usage even implies a 3-dimensional aspect to this “mark,” hence the RFID microchip view is still entirely possible. However, when one takes the time to further investigate the root of the word “charagma,” you will make an amazing discovery! That word comes from the Greek word, “charax” which according to Strong’s Concordance G5482, means “a stake” or “a palisade” which is driven into the ground. These meanings are all incredibly significant, because the chip is embedded into the skin in the same manner as a stake is driven into the ground! With all that said, can you really doubt this interpretation?

What amazes me more about this prophecy is that there seems to be an invisible hand trying to desensitize the entire world into being eager to accept this prophesied mark of the beast, and most of the followers of the world religions are actually being encouraged to accept it when it finally arrives. In Hinduism, Hindus are encouraged to wear marks on their foreheads called “tilaka,” “kum-kum” or “bindi” and they accept this mark on their forehead to help awaken their third eye or align them spiritually for their religious services. Buddhist monks, called Bhikkhu, receive nine burns upon their foreheads created with lit incense, called Jieba scars, which are received at the point of their ordination as monks. Islam actually teaches its followers that just before the Last Day, a beast will rise up from the depths of the Earth, called Dabbat al-Arḍd, who will strike a mark onto the heads of all Muslims with a mark that says “He is destined for Paradise” (see Surah 27:82; Tafsir Ibn Kathir; Hadith like Sunan Ibn Majah). This beast of the Earth will be welcomed by Muslims, but will be shunned by informed Christians, because we were warned centuries before the rise of Islam that this beast from the Earth will be the false prophet of the Antichrist (see Revelation 13:11-14). Those who join the Bahá’í Faith are also desensitized to accept this kind of technology, because new members are actually required to attend an interview to join that religion and are even given an identification card after joining. Even Atheists, Secular Humanists, and Agnostics are being prepared and enticed to receive this prophesied mark of the beast. An RFID microchip, which might quite possibly be a prototype for this prophesied mark of the beast, has been accepted by an entire office which had all of its staff members chipped – just a few days ago. You can read this article here here by the BBC, “Office puts chips under staff’s skin” which exposes this story.

Research in the medical field is currently being done to use RFID chips and nanotechnology to release medicine or even treat diseases as the CBS news video above shows. Some Christian authors like L.A. Marzulli, theorize that these various prototypes to the final mark of the beast will eventually be able to alter the DNA, extend ones life and would effectively transform humans into non-humans. The basis for these theories by Bible teachers is grounded on what Jesus prophesies will happen in the Last Days in Matthew 24:37, “But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.” One of the activities in the days of Noah was a corruption of the human gene pool (see Genesis chapter 6 and the Book of Enoch). In fact, Noah is described as being “a just man and perfect in his generations,” the word for “perfect” there is the Hebrew word “tamiym,” according to Strong’s Concordance H8549, which means “pure” or “unblemished” primarily in a physical or genetic sense.

With all that said, the entire world is being desensitized into accepting the future mark of the beast, and the driving force to seek this mark will be blasphemous. Why? Because members of all the other world religions, with the exception of the informed Christians, will rush to accept this mark as a method to get “spiritually promoted” as in the case of the Muslims and those of the Bahá’í Faith, to “evolve” in the case of the Humanists or become “more god-like” in the case of those who belong to Eastern religions like Hinduism and Buddhism. The Bible warns that this mark will be humanity’s final massive act of rebellion against the true God, in the form of blasphemy. Everyone will reject the true God and will worship the “strange god” of the Antichrist who bears “the name of blasphemy” upon his head (Revelation 13:1; Daniel 11:36-39). Whatever you do, do not accept this mark of the beast when it arrives. This mark will quite possibly be touted as an evolutionary upgrade by transhumanists or even the aliens, it will be used to buy and sell goods, but more importantly will be used as a sign of allegiance to a religious belief system. Those who do accept, will be damned forever, because Jesus came to save human beings; not human hybrids (Hebrews 2:5-18; Titus 2:11; 1 Timothy 2:3, 4):

Revelation 14:9-11
And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

5) Prediction of Weapons of Mass Destruction

This is a very fascinating point, so please keep reading. The Bible contains passages which seems to suggest that mankind would at some point in time wield weapons of mass destruction:

Jeremiah 50:9
For, lo, I will raise and cause to come up against Babylon an assembly of great nations from the north country: and they shall set themselves in array against her; from thence she shall be taken: their arrows shall be as of a mighty expert man; none shall return in vain.

Jeremiah 50:9 above seems to be describing “smart weapons,” like cruise missiles. The word for arrows here, “chets,” can also be used to describe “javelins” or “spears.” In addition to this, the arrows are described as “a mighty expert man” – please note this description is directed to these “arrows” and not the ones firing them – these so-called arrows have an intelligence of their own. The fact that “none shall return in vain” confirms that these weapons are carefully guided and cannot miss! Hence Jeremiah 50:9, written around 627 to 585 B.C., is quite possibly insinuating that mankind will eventually invent smart weaponry or precision-guided munition.

Zephaniah 1:14, 15
The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.
That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and DISTRESS, a day of WASTENESS and DESOLATION, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of CLOUDS and thick darkness,

Nuclear Explosion

Many Bible scholars agree that this passage in Zephaniah, written in 625 B.C., seems to be describing the scenes, sights and aftermath of an atomic bomb detonating or more specifically the aftermath of a nuclear war of apocalyptic proportions. Here we see emphasis placed on sorrow, “wasteness” or utter destruction, distress and desolation. We even see that the Bible for some odd reason felt the need to describe it as a “day of clouds,” a very peculiar detail, which eerily sounds similar to the massive mushroom clouds produced by atomic bombs. Is that passage just a coincidence? With only that scripture, I would understand if you might think so, but by the end of this point you will soon see that this is not a coincidence – take a look at this passage below:

Zechariah 14:12
And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their FLESH SHALL CONSUME AWAY while they stand upon their feet, and their EYES SHALL CONSUME AWAY in their holes, and their TONGUE SHALL CONSUME AWAY in their mouth.

Has anyone ever heard of a plague that strips the flesh off a person’s bones, and dissolves their eyeballs and tongues? No, there is no such disease, however, the late physicist Samuel T. Cohen knows a perfect candidate for the technology which is possibly being described there. And of course he would know…he invented it – it is called the Neutron Bomb! Yes, the neutron bomb is the one and only device that we are aware of that can accomplish the very same things in that passage, written by Zechariah around 520 to 518 B.C. The bomb when detonated, creates an explosion of subatomic particles called neutrons which act like tiny bullets bombarding and shredding apart the large organic molecules contained in all living matter, while these “bullets” tend to miss the smaller molecules found in our infrastructure. What is the end result? To put it simply, all the living organisms die, while all non-living things remain remarkably intact. In my opinion, the Bible uses the best word available in that ancient time for such a modern device, it likens it to a “plague,” and just as all plagues which only attacks people, but leaves infrastructure intact, this bomb accomplishes the very same effect! The living tissue literally gets shredded apart and dissolves away, precisely as the Bible describes. Please feel free to watch the following video where the inventor of this nuclear weapon explains its effects personally:

Now, do you still doubt that the Bible seems to have anticipated the invention of nuclear weaponry? Well, I saved what maybe the one of the best biblical evidence of this for last, however, there are more:

Revelation 6:13, 15
And the STARS of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, HID THEMSELVES in the DENS and in the rocks of the mountains;

Some Bible scholars believe that this reference to “stars of heaven” falling to the Earth in Revelation 6:13 may be a symbolic reference to nuclear bombs, because stars actually operate by nuclear reactions, and just like atomic bombs, they also release radioactive particles. When I first read these passages, I had always wondered why these men were hiding within the dens and underground from “stars” in Revelation 6:15? This scenario sounds precisely like what is referred to as “nuclear fallout” – they are quite possibly shielding and protecting themselves from the residual nuclear radiation in those dens. Are you still convinced that the Bible is just a useless moldy book? The Bible prophesies that in the Last Days billions of people will die and that the Earth will be destroyed by mankind’s actions, people laughed about such claims before, but after the invention of nuclear weapons all the skeptics are now silent. In light of all that I have said, I think we need to pay more attention to the claims of this so-called moldy book!:

Isaiah 24:1, 4-6
Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof.
The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish.
The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.
Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.

Zechariah 13:8, 9
And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.
And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.

Revelation 11:18
And the nations were angry, and Thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that Thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear Thy name, small and great; and shouldest DESTROY them which DESTROY THE EARTH.

My question to you is this: Are you saved? Now is not the time to play games, you know what is unfolding in the news these days with ISIS, Iran is racing towards getting nuclear weapons and Russia is constantly threatening to kick start World War III. Why take the chance? Let’s weigh the options here rationally, if I am wrong in my beliefs then I have nothing to lose, however, if you are living without the covering of the Lord Jesus Christ and if you are wrong, then you will have everything to lose! Be wise – choose life – accept the sacrifice that Jesus has paid for your sins, repent of your sins and please get right with God before time runs out:

Matthew 16:24-26
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

For those who still refuse to believe and think that all that I have shared is just paranoia and believe that I am just another Christian crackpot, then I will share this final prophecy, which is actually God’s message for you. The Bible has predicted that people, who are unwilling to reject their own lusts, will mock and reject the fact that we are in the Last Days, that the Lord will return soon and are ignorant that the Lord is actually delaying His coming for their own sake. God loves you very much and is knocking at your door of your heart. Will you answer?:

2 Peter 3:3, 4, 7, 9
Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Is The God of The Bible The True Creator of the Universe? The Truth Will Shock You!

In my last article, “Does God Exist? Did Science Just Discovered God?” I promised to provide reasons as to why I strongly believe that the God of the Bible is the Creator of the universe. If you had read my last article you would have known that the Creator God of the universe must be immaterial, timeless, spaceless, omnipotent and personal in order to create the universe which we observe. So, why do I believe that my God is the true God and not Shiva, Allah or Ahura Mazda? First of all, I must stress that any deity can claim to be the Creator God! In the various holy texts around the world – any one of these deities can say, “I am the Supreme Lord” or “I am the Lord of all the Worlds,” but are these claims true? The one and only way that we will know for sure is if they demonstrate those five characteristics of the true Creator God and many of them do within these texts, however, all the other deities seem to fail miserably in the area of demonstrating the attribute of timelessness. Interestingly enough, the God of the Bible actually tells us that He will prove that He is the true God by revealing events that will happen in the future before they do – this is called prophecy:

Isaiah 46:9, 10
Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,
Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

Isaiah 42:8, 9
I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.
Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.

Isaiah 44:7, 8
And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for me, since I appointed the ancient people? and the things that are coming, and shall come, let them shew unto them.
Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.

And this makes perfect sense, if this God is the true God, then wouldn’t it be logical that He would try to soothe our skepticism by demonstrating that He is indeed the true God via some sort of verification system? This is the system which verifies the true God – fulfilled Bible prophecy – proof beyond reasonable doubt. And this does not only prove that He is indeed God but it also proves His existence. Apart from the fact that God seems to endorse this verification method Himself, I agree that this is indeed the greatest and most logical proof to determine who is the true Creator God and whether or not the God of the Bible is this God, because it naturally weeds out any possible impostors – human or otherwise – because unlike the timeless Creator God, those beings are all bound by time and can never prophesy unless inspired by Him. I will share five fulfilled prophecies here in this article and I will share some more in future articles as God wills. Please read all of these proofs, because even these five prophecies are like ‘umbrella prophecies,’ as they contain several other smaller prophecies embedded within them. In any case, I am very confident that you will learn many new things which you had never known was in the Bible!:

The prophet Daniel documents the dream of Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, who dreamed of a great image in Daniel chapter 2. Nebuchadnezzar had claimed that he had forgotten his own dream (Daniel 2:5), some Bible scholars believe that he never did, but rather presented this as a test for his servants. However, this test or hurdle never stopped Daniel from relaying the dream to him through the spirit of God:

Daniel 2:1, 2, 5, 25, 31-34
And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams, wherewith his spirit was troubled, and his sleep brake from him.
Then the king commanded to call the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, for to shew the king his dreams. So they came and stood before the king.
The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing is gone from me: if ye will not make known unto me the dream, with the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made a dunghill.
Then Arioch brought in Daniel before the king in haste, and said thus unto him, I have found a man of the captives of Judah, that will make known unto the king the interpretation.
Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible.
This image’s head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass,
His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.
Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.

Nebuchadnezzar Image

Daniel filled with wisdom and discernment proceeded to then interpret the dream as follows:

Daniel 2:36-42, 47
This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king.
Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.
And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold.
And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.
And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.
And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.
And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.

The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret.

I will just recap this dream with you, the dream featured an image which had a golden head which is identified by Daniel as the Babylonian empire, silver chest and arms representing a second world empire, belly and thighs of brass representing a third world empire, legs of iron for the fourth world empire and iron feet mingled with clay representing a revival of the fourth kingdom in another form. After explaining the dream to Nebuchadnezzar, Daniel had a dream himself in Daniel chapter 7, but this time instead of seeing an image with various metals (like the king), Daniel saw these same four world empires in the form of four beasts which also represent four kings or four kingdoms:

Daniel 7:2, 3, 17
Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea.
And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.
These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth.

This prophecy is shrouded with many symbols: the “four winds” in Daniel 7:2 represent wars, chaos and strife upon the entire Earth as Jeremiah 49:36, 37 and Jeremiah 4:13 below suggests, while the sea is a common symbol used to represent peoples and nations as Revelation 17:15 indicates. I will now proceed to analyze these four beasts and reveal the identities of these empires with biblical and extra-biblical proofs in four separate points starting with the first beast. But as you read through these Daniel prophecies please keep in mind that the Book of Daniel was written between 605 and 536 B.C.

Jeremiah 49:36, 37
And upon Elam will I bring the four winds from the four quarters of heaven, and will scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation whither the outcasts of Elam shall not come.
For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before them that seek their life: and I will bring evil upon them, even my fierce anger, saith the LORD; and I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them:

Jeremiah 4:13
Behold, he shall come up as clouds, and his chariots shall be as a whirlwind: his horses are swifter than eagles. Woe unto us! for we are spoiled.

Revelation 17:15
And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.

A) The Babylonian Empire

Babylon-head of gold-lion with eagle wings

Daniel 7:4
The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man’s heart was given to it.

Daniel 2:32, 37, 38
This image’s head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass,
Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.
And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou (Nebuchadnezzar) art this head of gold.

This lion with the wings of an eagle, is Babylon – this mirrors Nebuchadnezzar’s dream of the great image which had the head of gold conveniently interpreted by Daniel to be Babylon (Daniel 2:38). Just as Nebuchadnezzar is described as a “king of kings” in Daniel 2:37, the lion is considered as the king of all beasts. Daniel chapter 2 contained a vision through the eyes of a man which saw these empires as glorious and great, while Daniel chapter 7 is a vision through the eyes of the holy God, who simply sees them as wild beasts. It must be noted that this beast becoming like a man reveals that it had lost its secular or godless nature which is confirmed in the person of Nebuchadnezzar who later seems to have became a servant of God in Daniel chapter 4 (Ezekiel 36:26). But prior to his possible conversion in chapter 4, Nebuchadnezzar, in Daniel 3:1 was so filled with pride that he fashioned the very same image of his dream in Daniel 2 but completely with solid gold. He was humbled by God in Daniel 4:33, after the events of Daniel 3:1, and became insane and behaved beast-like, an episode which was possibly hinted to in the description of this first beast of Daniel 7:4, which had it wings plucked and had the feet and heart of a man. In addition to all of this, other prophets in the Bible has pointed to this first beast as Babylon with the same lion and eagle imagery. Another scripture, 2 Samuel 1:23, goes as far as to liken Saul, a king of Israel, and his son Jonathan to lions and eagles:

Lamassu

Jeremiah 50:17, 44
Israel is a scattered sheep; the lions have driven him away: first the king of Assyria hath devoured him; and last this Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath broken his bones.
Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan unto the habitation of the strong: but I will make them suddenly run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?

Jeremiah 4:7
The lion is come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of the Gentiles is on his way; he is gone forth from his place to make thy land desolate; and thy cities shall be laid waste, without an inhabitant.

2 Samuel 1:23
Saul and Jonathan were lovely and pleasant in their lives, and in their death they were not divided: they were swifter than eagles, they were stronger than lions.

Babylon can trace its history all the way back to 2334 B.C. under the leadership of Sargon of Akkad also known as Sargon the Great who is agreed by historians to have been a Semite and descendant of Ishmael (Chavalas, 2006; Kramer, 1963). However, it was only under Nebuchadnezzar II (the very same Nebuchadnezzar in the book of Daniel) in 605 B.C. that Babylon seized the title of world empire after the Battle of Carchemish (Wiseman, 1956; Horn, 1967). As you may have recognized by these dates, Babylon had a very lengthy existence even prior to Nebuchadnezzar II and hence can be agreed to be as long-lasting and precious as gold.

The prevalence of winged lions adorned on the Ishtar Gate in Babylon city seems to confirm the view that the first beast is indeed Babylon. Likewise, the protective spirits called “Lamassu” (part man, part lion and part eagle) in Babylonian society, have been uncovered by Archaeology, were depicted as statues and carvings upon the walls of the Babylonian city and certainly lends credence to this interpretation. Some of the depictions of the Lamassu even occur as part man, part eagle and part ox instead of part lion, which seems to perfectly shadow the fact that Nebuchadnezzar ate grass and even described himself as an ox due to his insanity (see Daniel 4:32). It is possible that these specific renditions of the Lamassu may have originated from this same king but that is just my personal speculation. All of these small details collectively confirm that this first beast is indeed the Babylonian empire. On a side note, Jeremiah the prophet in Jeremiah 25:11-12, prophesied between 627 and 585 B.C. that the Babylonian captivity would last for 70 years. Seventy (70) years is actually the biblical lifespan for human beings (see Psalms 90:10)! This detail from Jeremiah, only confirms the human-like attributes which this first beast displays. Did Jeremiah’s prophesy of the 70 year captivity come to pass? Yes. It was in 609 B.C. during the Battle of Megiddo that the Babylonians defeated the last Assyrian king, Ashur-uballit II, which crippled the Assyrian empire and thus paved its way to become a powerful empire in the region later in 605 B.C. The Babylonians were then conquered in 539 B.C., hence the prophesied 70 years lifespan for the captivity of the Jews were fulfilled.

B) The Medo-Persian Empire or The Achaemenid Empire

Medo-Persia-chest and arms of silver-bear with 3 ribs

Daniel 7:5
And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.

Daniel 2:32, 39
This image’s head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass,
And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.

This beast is indeed reflecting the Medo-Persian empire also known as the Achaemenid Empire, not only because this empire was the historical one which eventually eclipsed the Babylonian empire, but by the very specific symbols given to it in this prophecy. This same beast is connected to the chest and arms of silver in Nebuchadnezzar’s dream (make a mental note of those two arms)! The arms represent the alliance between the Medes and the Persians – united by the chest, which is Cyrus the Great, who was discussed in my first point in this article. It might surprise you to learn that Cyrus the Great was actually half Median and half Persian! Because his mother Mandane was a Median, while his father Cambyses I was Persian (Church, 2009). On a side note, the ribs within the bear’s mouth also seems to allude to the ‘chest’ of silver which houses the rib cage.

The Medo-Persian empire began after Cyrus the Great’s conquest of Babylon, however, this empire ended around 331 B.C. This second beast was like a bear, a symbol possibly hinting to its resilience and strength – as this world empire lived on much longer than the reign of the Babylonian empire. Furthermore, this beast was seen by Daniel as being lifted on one side, possibly hinting to the initial inequality found in the Medo-Persian empire. You are probably asking yourself the question: “What inequality I am referring to?” Well, the Median empire was more dominant and actually predated the Persian empire, it took Cyrus the Great, under the banner of the Persian empire, to finally conquer the Median empire and forge an alliance between the two (Stokes, 2009) – hence the inequality. One of the most interesting aspects of this prophecy is the detail about the three ribs. Ribs are commonly used in the Bible as a symbol of nations, for instance, Eve was created from Adam’s rib and became the mother of all nations and consider the twelve pairs of ribs in the human body like the 12 tribes of Israel and 12 tribes of Ishmael. So these three ribs are actually three great nations, which fell to this united empire: Lydia in 546 B.C., Babylon in 539 B.C., and Egypt in 525 B.C (Rawlinson, 1997; Littlebury, 1737). This ‘bear’ was then told to “Arise, devour much flesh,” and this is precisely what the Medo-Persian empire did, it spread as far as Greece and along the Indus Valley near Pakistan.

Medo-Persian Empire

Believe it or not this point does not end there with the ‘bear.’ Daniel was given another prophetic vision which is found within Daniel chapter 8 which confirms that the second empire to replace Babylon was in fact Medo-Persia:

Daniel 8:3, 4, 16, 20
Then I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last.
I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great.
And I heard a man’s voice between the banks of Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision.
The ram which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia.

Have you recognized the same symbols used in the description of the ‘bear’ elaborated here? We see the mention of a river in this vision which, in my opinion, echoes the method by which Cyrus the Great defeated the Babylonians (by diverting a river course to enter the city, discussed more in point 2). We see the ram with two horns, this clearly points to the Median and Persian alliance. We even see that one horn was higher than the other – please remember the ‘bear’ lifted up on one side – with the higher horn being the Persian empire led by Cyrus the Great which rose to power after the Median empire. We even see the directions which the empire would spread into in order to “devour much flesh” so that no “beasts might stand before him” to the west (Lydia, Ionia, Thrace, and Macedonia), to the north (the Caspians of the Caucasus Range, the Scythians east of the Caspian Sea and the Oxus Valley to the Aral Sea), and to the south (Babylon along with Egypt). According to the historian, Ammianus Marcellinus in chapter 1 of “The Roman History of Ammianus Marcellinus Book XIX,” the Persians considered the ram, with sharp and pointed horns, to be their guardian spirit and was adorned on the head of the Persian king who “led his whole army, wearing instead of a crown a golden figure of a ram’s head inlaid with jewels” (Marcellinus, 2009). I am reminded of the 2006 movie “300” where Xerxes, the Persian king, arose from a golden throne with two golden rams with sharp points “guarding” him on either side. But I digress, one cannot ignore the fact that the angel Gabriel actually appeared to Daniel and openly said that the ram was Medo-Persia in Daniel 8:20, so this ram is indeed the Medo-Persian or Achaemenid empire. Due to the fact that the ram features many of the symbols of the ‘bear,’ we can safely conclude that both the second beast of Daniel chapter 7 and the chest and arms of silver of Daniel chapter 2 were indeed prophesying the rise of the Medo-Persian empire.

C) The Greek Empire

Greece-belly and thigh of brass - 4 headed leopard with 4 wings

Daniel 7:6
After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.

Daniel 2:32, 37
This image’s head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass,
And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.

The leopard is perhaps the best animal to summarize Alexander the Great’s rise to power – fast and furious. The wings on this beast seems to further emphasize the speed of this empire’s expansion which occurred over the span of only 10 years (Roisman and Worthington, 2010; Morkot, 1997)! The leopard motif seems to additionally emphasize a stealthy nature, which employs agility and guile both of which were fully manifested in Alexander’s strategies, because he actually never lost a single battle despite being outnumbered on many occasions (Roisman and Worthington, 2010). Wings and leopards are often used as symbols for rapid invasions in the Bible:

Habbakuk 1:8
Their horses also are swifter than the leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves: and their horsemen shall spread themselves, and their horsemen shall come from far; they shall fly as the eagle that hasteth to eat.

Jeremiah 5:6
Wherefore a lion out of the forest shall slay them, and a wolf of the evenings shall spoil them, a leopard shall watch over their cities: every one that goeth out thence shall be torn in pieces: because their transgressions are many, and their backslidings are increased.

Hosea 13:7
Therefore I will be unto them as a lion: as a leopard by the way will I observe them:

Alexander the Great founded the empire in 331 B.C. after defeating Darius III, who was the final ruler of the Medo-Persian empire (Stoneman, 2004). Alexander the Great is often quoted by historians as weeping at the fact that he had no more lands to conquer, thus fulfilling Daniel 2:37 where he was prophesied to “rule over all the earth.” Please keep in mind that each beast in a sense “devours” its predecessor and grows larger and larger. But, why does this third beast has four heads and 4 wings? Well, Alexander the Great had four generals: Cassander, Lysimachus, Seleucus, and Ptolemy who spitted the empire in four parts, after Alexander’s untimely death at the age of 33, Greece, Turkey, Asia and Egypt respectively. This third beast is tied to the belly and thighs of brass seen in Nebuchadnezzar’s dream of the great image. Why? We all must make a mental note of how Alexander the Great died, it is often said that he died due to heavy drinking, while other historians suggest that he may have been poisoned – in any case all of the main theories are squarely focused on Alexander the Great’s stomach. As such, I find it remarkable that the prophecy of Daniel 2 focuses on that very relevant area – the belly and thighs of brass.

Greek Empire divided in four parts

Daniel had another vision in Daniel chapter 8 which seems to shed more light into the identification of this ‘four-headed winged leopard’ and it even goes as far as to identify two famous historical leaders of that empire. It starts with Daniel’s vision of a fight between a ‘ram’ and a ‘goat’ (the ram has already been identified in point 1B):

Daniel 8:2, 5-8, 16, 21, 22
And I saw in a vision; and it came to pass, when I saw, that I was at Shushan in the palace, which is in the province of Elam; and I saw in a vision, and I was by the river of Ulai.
And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes.
And he came to the ram that had two horns, which I had seen standing before the river, and ran unto him in the fury of his power.

And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was moved with choler against him, and smote the ram, and brake his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.
Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven.
And I heard a man’s voice between the banks of Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision.
And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king.
Now that being broken, whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power.

Medo-Persia defeated by Greece by Alexander the Great

This ‘goat’ seems to indeed be the Greek empire for many reasons. Why? Daniel saw the vision near the Ulai river, which is in Iran (Persia), and this ‘goat’ is described as coming “from the west” this is geographically implying Greece. Furthermore, we see that the ‘goat’ is moving so fast that it “touched not the ground,” this detail eerily reflects the fast nature of the four-headed winged leopard in Daniel chapter 7 and confirms that this beast is in fact the Greek empire. This ‘goat’ has a single “notable horn” or great horn between its eyes. Who do you think this horn is? You guessed it! It is Alexander the Great. But how can we be sure? Well, the passage says that “the great horn was broken” and “four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven” – these four horns clearly mirror the four generals of Alexander the Great, who replaced him when he died. So, we can have confidence that this beast is Greece. But of course, if you had read the passage you would see that, we are directly told by Gabriel that this empire is Grecia, the biblical name for Greece – thus we are 100% sure this is Greece.

Still not convinced that the Bible prophesied about Alexander the Great? Well, I have a final interesting Bible passage to show you which also clearly prophesies Alexander the Great – even hinting about his untimely death, the fact that he had no successor and his kingdom being divided among his four generals. You can also follow this link here to read extra-biblical passages in the Talmud, Jewish traditions and historical accounts, which claim to document accounts of Alexander the Great:

Daniel 11:2-4
And now will I shew thee the truth. Behold, there shall stand up yet three kings in Persia; and the fourth shall be far richer than they all: and by his strength through his riches he shall stir up all against the realm of Grecia.
And a mighty king shall stand up, that shall rule with great dominion, and do according to his will.
And when he shall stand up, his kingdom shall be broken, and shall be divided toward the four winds of heaven; and not to his posterity, nor according to his dominion which he ruled: for his kingdom shall be plucked up, even for others beside those.

On a side note, Daniel chapter 11 goes even further to describe another historical figure, Antiochus IV Epiphanes, the son of Antiochus III the Great of the Seleucid empire. He was like a ‘little horn’ emerging out of one of the four horns of the ‘goat’:

Daniel 8:9-12
And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.
And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them.

Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.
And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered.

These prophecies were indeed fulfilled to the letter! Antiochus IV Epiphanes historically invaded the south – Egypt – which was ruled by Ptolemy VI and invaded all of Egypt but the city of Alexandria during the infamous Sixth Syrian War (170–168 B.C.), he invaded the east – Persia – which was invaded by Mithridates I of Parthia and finally he invaded Israel, “the pleasant land” as Daniel (the exiled Jew) describes it, during the Maccabean Revolt (167 to 160 B.C.). Antiochus Epiphanes sacked Jerusalem and set up an altar to Zeus in the Temple, ceased the sacrifices unto God, desecrated the sanctuary by sacrificing swine and violated the Mosaic laws. Antiochus Epiphanes slaughtered the “host of heaven,” a symbolic term used to describe Israel in Genesis 22:17, where God describes Abraham’s seed as “the stars of heaven” and Joseph’s dream of his brothers as stars bowing down to him (Genesis 37:9, 10). The Bible prophesied Antiochus’ pride and that “he magnified himself,” historically, he had named himself “Epiphanes” which basically means “God Manifest” and he was the very first Seleucid king to do this openly. These atrocities to the Jewish people was such a pivotal event in Jewish history that its memory has been preserved in the celebration of Hanukkah, which celebrates the re-dedication of the Temple after that whole sordid affair with Antiochus Epiphanes. I must let you know that Antiochus Epiphanes is a very interesting character because in many ways he prophetically foreshadows the biblical Antichrist of the Book of Revelation and Daniel chapter 11 who will arrive in the future.

I will wrap up this point with an absolutely fascinating account by Josephus in the The Antiquities of the Jews Book 11 (Chapter 8, Section 3-5), where Alexander the Great actually learned about the prophecy of Daniel chapters 7, 8 and 11 concerning himself! Both the Jewish high priest at the time, Jaddua, and even Alexander the Great in this account claimed to have had dreams of each other several days before hand and without ever seeing each other before:

“About this time it was that Darius heard how Alexander had passed over the Hellespont, and had beaten his lieutenants in the battle at Granicum, and was proceeding further; whereupon he gathered together an army of horse and foot, and determined that he would meet the Macedonians before they should assault and conquer all Asia…But the event proved otherwise than they expected; for the king joined battle with the Macedonians, and was beaten, and lost a great part of his army. His mother also, and his wife and children, were taken captives, and he fled into Persia. So Alexander came into Syria, and took Damascus; and when he had obtained Sidon, he besieged Tyre, when he sent all epistle to the Jewish high priest, to send him some auxiliaries, and to supply his army with provisions; and that what presents he formerly sent to Darius, he would now send to him, and choose the friendship of the Macedonians, and that he should never repent of so doing. But the high priest answered the messengers, that he had given his oath to Darius not to bear arms against him; and he said that he would not transgress this while Darius was in the land of the living. Upon hearing this answer, Alexander was very angry; and though he determined not to leave Tyre, which was just ready to be taken, yet as soon as he had taken it, he threatened that he would make an expedition against the Jewish high priest, and through him teach all men to whom they must keep their oaths. So when he had, with a good deal of pains during the siege, taken Tyre, and had settled its affairs, he came to the city of Gaza, and besieged both the city and him that was governor of the garrison, whose name was Babemeses.”

“…Now Alexander, when he had taken Gaza, made haste to go up to Jerusalem; and Jaddua the high priest, when he heard that, was in an agony, and under terror, as not knowing how he should meet the Macedonians, since the king was displeased at his foregoing disobedience. He therefore ordained that the people should make supplications, and should join with him in offering sacrifice to God, whom he besought to protect that nation, and to deliver them from the perils that were coming upon them; whereupon God warned him in a dream, which came upon him after he had offered sacrifice, that he should take courage, and adorn the city, and open the gates; that the rest should appear in white garments, but that he and the priests should meet the king in the habits proper to their order, without the dread of any ill consequences, which the providence of God would prevent. Upon which, when he rose from his sleep, he greatly rejoiced, and declared to all the warning he had received from God. According to which dream he acted entirely, and so waited for the coming of the king.”

Alexander the Great meets Jaddua near Jerusalem

“And when he understood that he was not far from the city, he went out in procession, with the priests and the multitude of the citizens. The procession was venerable, and the manner of it different from that of other nations. It reached to a place called Sapha, which name, translated into Greek, signifies a prospect, for you have thence a prospect both of Jerusalem and of the temple. And when the Phoenicians and the Chaldeans that followed him thought they should have liberty to plunder the city, and torment the high priest to death, which the king’s displeasure fairly promised them, the very reverse of it happened; for Alexander, when he saw the multitude at a distance, in white garments, while the priests stood clothed with fine linen, and the high priest in purple and scarlet clothing, with his mitre on his head, having the golden plate whereon the name of God was engraved, he approached by himself, and adored that name, and first saluted the high priest. The Jews also did all together, with one voice, salute Alexander, and encompass him about; whereupon the kings of Syria and the rest were surprised at what Alexander had done, and supposed him disordered in his mind. However, Parmenio alone went up to him, and asked him how it came to pass that, when all others adored him, he should adore the high priest of the Jews? To whom he replied, ‘I did not adore him, but that God who hath honored him with his high priesthood; for I saw this very person in a dream, in this very habit, when I was at Dios in Macedonia, who, when I was considering with myself how I might obtain the dominion of Asia, exhorted me to make no delay, but boldly to pass over the sea thither, for that he would conduct my army, and would give me the dominion over the Persians; whence it is that, having seen no other in that habit, and now seeing this person in it, and remembering that vision, and the exhortation which I had in my dream, I believe that I bring this army under the Divine conduct, and shall therewith conquer Darius, and destroy the power of the Persians, and that all things will succeed according to what is in my own mind.’ And when he had said this to Parmenio, and had given the high priest his right hand, the priests ran along by him, and he came into the city. And when he went up into the temple, he offered sacrifice to God, according to the high priest’s direction, and magnificently treated both the high priest and the priests. And when the Book of Daniel was showed him wherein Daniel declared that one of the Greeks should destroy the empire of the Persians, he supposed that himself was the person intended. And as he was then glad, he dismissed the multitude for the present; but the next day he called them to him, and bid them ask what favors they pleased of him; whereupon the high priest desired that they might enjoy the laws of their forefathers, and might pay no tribute on the seventh year. He granted all they desired. And when they entreated him that he would permit the Jews in Babylon and Media to enjoy their own laws also, he willingly promised to do hereafter what they desired. And when he said to the multitude, that if any of them would enlist themselves in his army, on this condition, that they should continue under the laws of their forefathers, and live according to them, he was willing to take them with him, many were ready to accompany him in his wars.”

D) The Roman Empire: Past And Future

Rome-legs and feet of iron and feet mixed with clay - terrible beast

Daniel 7:7, 8, 19-21, 23, 24
After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.
I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.
Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;
And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.
I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;
Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.

And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.

Daniel 2:33, 34, 40-42, 44
His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.
Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.

And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

This fourth “dreadful and terrible” beast seems to parallel the iron legs and the iron in the feet of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream and this connection is very visible in this beast’s description with “great iron teeth” in Daniel 7:7 and “teeth were of iron” in Daniel 7:19. The fact that this beast has ten horns and the image had ten toes confirms that they are both describing the very same empire.

Furthermore, this final beast in Daniel 7, seems to be an amalgam or fusion of all the other beast before it. Why? Because it is ravenous as it “devoured” just as the second beast (the bear) which came before it (Daniel 7:7), it had nails of brass which points to the belly and thighs of brass of Nebuchadnezzar’s image which belonged to Greece, the third beast (the leopard), and this beast has a horn which bears human characteristics much like the first beast which had the feet and heart of a man. Perhaps the most telling detail, is that this beast has one horn which subdues three other horns or kings which is eerily similar to that of the second beast, the bear, which has three ribs in its mouth or had subdued three kings. The strongest proof in my opinion, that this final beast is an amalgam is the use of the word “diverse,” this account is written in the Aramaic language and the Aramaic word used here is transliterated as “shĕna'” according to Strong’s Concordance H8133. This word “shĕna'” primarily means “to be changed” or “to be altered,” as such, this beast was not “different” or “unique” but rather it was “changed.” This particular Aramaic word is the very same word used to describe how Nebuchadnezzar’s heart changed from a man into a beast, when he became insane in Daniel 4:16 for seven years. Now, the million dollar question is: “This beast changed from what?” Logically, it would seem that the three beasts “changed” into this final beast or were somehow assimilated into this fourth beast – this seems to be the only reasonable explanation for this vocabulary which Daniel used in this prophecy as the word implies that something which already existed had deteriorated or altered into another form. So, yes the argument that this final beast is some freaky chimera of the three beasts seems very likely. Many Bible scholars are entirely convinced that this seems to indeed be the case as John, a disciple of Jesus Christ, wrote about a beast in Revelation 13:1, 2 which seems to be this very same beast!:

Revelation 13:1, 2
And I (John) stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

Revelation 12:3, 9
And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Unlike Daniel, who openly told us that he only gave the main facts or “sum of the matters” in Daniel 7:1, John elaborated more on the appearance of this beast and confirms that it has the attributes of the previous beasts but listed in reverse order, “like unto a leopard,” “the feet of a bear” and “the mouth of a lion” as Revelation 13:2 says. So John is connecting this beast to the fourth beast that Daniel saw. Also just as Jesus, the Son of God, inherited the likeness of His Father God, in like manner, this beast (Antichrist system or fourth beast) inherits the likeness of Satan with the seven heads, ten crowns and those “dreadful and terrible” dragon-like attributes as Revelation 12:3, 9 suggests.

The Roman empire rose to power in 168 B.C. after the Battle of Pydna (Davis, 1999). This empire was never “devoured” unlike its predecessors but rather its western “leg” broke up in 476 B.C. However, the eastern “leg,” called the Byzantine Empire, which later became the Ottoman empire, lived on even into the 20th century. But the question is this: why is this beast Rome? It seems to strongly describe the Roman empire because it is described as incredibly powerful – no other historical empire seems to even remotely qualify. On a side note, Rome (the western foot) and birthplace of the Holy Roman Empire and even Saudi Arabia (the eastern foot) and birthplace of Islam both geographically resembles feet! Coincidence? Oh no, I don’t think so. The Bible suggests that the fourth beast will never be conquered but rather will be revived – as the statue of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream suggests – feet of iron mixed with clay.

I am convinced that the iron specifically refers to Western Rome or Europe, but the clay may actually be referring to the Arabs of the Middle East. Why? Because the four metals of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream represents Gentile (non-Jewish) nations while for some odd reason, the feet is mixed with clay. I will present to you my personal theory on this matter. First of all, in Nebuchadnezzar’s dream this image was struck down by a stone:

Daniel 2:34, 35, 44
Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.
Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.
And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

This ‘stone’ is agreed by most Bible scholars to be none other than Jesus Christ (Exodus 17:6; John 4:13-14; 1 Corinthians 10:4; Deuteronomy 32:4, 31; 2 Samuel 22:2-4, 32; Ephesians 2:20). A stone is earth, clay is also earth, therefore stones are in a sense related to clay. In like manner, it seems that this “clay” in this dream may be Semitic in nature and actually related to Jesus in some way. Jesus was born a Jew, Jews are the descendants of Abraham via his son Isaac while the Arabs are the descendants of Abraham via his other son Ishmael. In addition to this, the clay is weak and is grafted into the feet of the image as some sort of “Antichrist” or “another Christ” which is struck down by the true Christ. This is why I strongly believe that the clay may be representing the Semitic groups of the eastern “leg” of the Roman empire aka the Arab nations. If you are reading this article, then please watch out for Islam – the Islamic nations, who are all Arabic, are likely to be a part of this fourth beast empire. To make matters worse, the Allah of the Qur’an has also expressed a great liking or affinity to iron (among all the other metals on Earth) this Allah brags that he sent down iron to mankind for warfare – so I must stress that you must keep an eye on Islam (Surah 57:15).

This revived Roman Empire is prophesied to behead those who do not worship the “strange god” of the Antichrist, would change laws, times and seasons and would restrict the buying and selling of goods among other things (Daniel 11:39; Revelation 20:4; Daniel 7:25; Revelation 13:16, 17). So this prophesied empire is clearly both political and religious in its nature. Interestingly enough, Jesus comes down as a ‘stone’ or rock in Daniel 2 and destroys both the Western Roman or European empire (backed by the Roman Catholic church) and Islamic empire – and I find that detail very telling as to what God truly thinks of both Islam and Roman Catholicism – please leave them if you belong to either. Chuck Missler in the video (examining Daniel chapter 2) embedded above indicates that the iron may potentially be extraterrestrial, exactly as the Allah of the Qur’an claims. Also pay close attention to Syria, because it has a very visible connected to this “iron” trait of this fourth beast or empire as Amos 1:3 suggests, and if such is the case, then we truly need to watch the ISIS situation very closely (by the way Damascus is the capital of Syria):

Amos 1:3
Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron:

Does Amos 1:3 suggest that ISIS will be the iron teeth of the fourth beast? Only time will tell. But even now, the revived Roman empire – the iron toes mingled with clay – are trampling over the world as Daniel 7:7, “it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it.” Think of the British empire, who is no doubt one of these “toes,” which has devoured many nations like the U.S. through colonialism, for instance, but has been broken into pieces. In addition to this, the key feature of iron toes mingled with clay in Daniel 2:42, “…the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken,” is quite telling. It is telling because across the western leg of Europe efforts to tame its countries has all been futile – Napoleon failed, Hitler failed, Stalin failed, Mussolini failed and even the European Union is failing. The same can certainly be said of the eastern “leg” or the Middle East which is so divided with frequent rising and downfalls of its leaders, the chaos stirred up by the Islamic terrorists and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

2) The Cyrus Prophecy and the Downfall of the Babylonian Empire

Cyrus the Great picture

The Cyrus prophecy is by far one of the most amazing prophecies, and occurs with the backdrop of the nation of Israel being held captive by the Babylonians commonly called the Babylonian Captivity. In the Book of Isaiah, we have the prophet Isaiah prophesying that the Babylonian empire will fall and that the Israelites who were held captive would be freed. Before I go any further please keep in mind that this prophecy uttered by the prophet Isaiah and was written between 740 and 680 B.C. in the Book of Isaiah:

Isaiah 13:19
And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees’ excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.

Isaiah 21:9
And, behold, here cometh a chariot of men, with a couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he hath broken unto the ground.

Then, Isaiah specified the identity of the individuals who would bring about Babylon’s downfall as an alliance of the Medes and Persians:

Isaiah 13:17, 18
Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight in it.
Their bows also shall dash the young men to pieces; and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb; their eye shall not spare children.

Isaiah 21:1, 2, 11, 13, 14
The burden of the desert of the sea. As whirlwinds in the south pass through; so it cometh from the desert, from a terrible land.
A grievous vision is declared unto me; the treacherous dealer dealeth treacherously, and the spoiler spoileth. Go up, O Elam: besiege, O Media; all the sighing thereof have I made to cease.
The burden of Dumah. He calleth to me out of Seir, Watchman, what of the night? Watchman, what of the night?
The burden upon Arabia. In the forest in Arabia shall ye lodge, O ye travelling companies of Dedanim.
The inhabitants of the land of Tema brought water to him that was thirsty, they prevented with their bread him that fled.

Genesis 16:11, 12
And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the LORD hath heard thy affliction.
And he (Ishmael) will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man’s hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.

Isaiah 21:2 references to Elam, a tribe that lived towards the southern regions in modern day Iran and hence were all Persians. Dumah, Seir, Arabia, Dedanim, Tema (Taima) or Tayma are all references to some of the children of Ishmael, who were part of this same Medo-Persian empire, which were prophesied in Genesis 16:12 to be wild and would always attack their neighbors – in this case the Babylonians. The scriptures even seem to hint to us as to how the Medo-Persians would conquer Babylon (modern day Iraq) – they would divert the Euphrates river which flowed through Babylon:

Isaiah 44:27
That saith to the deep, Be dry, and I will dry up thy rivers:

Persian and Babylonian Empire

The prophet Isaiah continues with the prophecy by indicating that a powerful individual from the north (please see map above), who would rise up to crush the Babylonians, to save the Israelites, this individual would have favor in the eyes of God and would re-establish the nation of Israel:

Isaiah 41:25
I have raised up one from the north, and he shall come: from the rising of the sun shall he call upon my name: and he shall come upon princes as upon morter, and as the potter treadeth clay.

Isaiah 45:13
I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways: he shall build my city, and he shall let go my captives, not for price nor reward, saith the LORD of hosts.

After identifying who would conquer Babylon, Isaiah did the unthinkable – he actually named the leader of this empire which would trample over the Babylonian empire!:

Isaiah 45:1-6
Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut;
I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:
And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.
For Jacob my servant’s sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me.
I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:
That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.

Isaiah 44:28
That saith of Cyrus, He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid.

Please take note that Isaiah penned those words at least 140 years (written around 740-680 B.C.) before Cyrus conquered Babylon! In addition to this, the Book of Isaiah was written at least 80 years before Cyrus’ birth! So, the God of the Bible prophesied Babylon’s fall, which empire would do it, how Babylon will fall and even the name of the leader of this empire who would bring about Babylon’s downfall in 539 B.C. The God of the Bible refers to Cyrus as His “anointed” and Cyrus was so impressed when this prophesy was read to him that he assisted the Jews to return to their land and to rebuild the temple (Ezra 1:1-4, 7, 8; 3:7; 4:3):

2 Chronicles 36:23
Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the LORD God of heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? The LORD his God be with him, and let him go up.

For the skeptics who doubt that all I have said is true, I will now share the extra-biblical sources, which confirm that these events did indeed occur. Cyrus II, also know as Cyrus the Great, was the son of Cambyses I according to Herodotus in “The Histories” (Godley, 1920). Prior to his rule over the Medo-Persian empire, he had conquered Babylon during the winter of 539 B.C (Kuhrt, 1982). The Babylonians were indeed finally conquered, with their precious city falling without a battle taking place as the Babylonian historical text, the Nabonidus Chronicle, suggests. According to the same Nabonidus Chronicle, Nabonidus was the last king of the Babylonians, and this source documents the rise of Cyrus and confirms that Cyrus was the king of Persia. This same source documents the battle of Opis which was possibly referenced in Isaiah 13:17, 18 and even details that Cyrus entered the city peacefully without a battle (Isaiah 45:1, 2). The infamous “Cyrus Cylinder,” which dates back to that period in the 6th century between 538-529 B.C., was discovered in the ruins of Babylon in 1879, and confirms the story of Cyrus defeating the Babylonian empire and even documents the freeing of all those enslaved by the Babylonians including the Jews (Price, 1902):

“I am Cyrus, king of the world, great king, mighty king, king of Babylon, king of the land of Sumer and Akkad, king of the four quarters, son of Cambyses, great king, king of Anshan, grandson of Cyrus, great king, king of Anshan, descendant of Teispes, great king, king of Anshan, progeny of an unending royal line, whose rule Bel and Nabu cherish, whose kingship they desire for their hearts’ pleasures…When I, well-disposed, entered Babylon, I established the seat of government in the royal palace amidst jubilation and rejoicing…I did not allow any to terrorize the land of Sumer and Akkad. I kept in view the needs of Babylon and all its sanctuaries to promote their well-being. The citizens of Babylon…I lifted their unbecoming yoke. Their dilapidated dwellings I restored. I put an end to their misfortunes…I gathered together all their inhabitants and restored to them their dwellings.”

“His widespread troops-their number, like that of the water of a river, which could not be counted, strolled along, their weapons packed away. Without any battle, he made him enter his city Babylon, sparing Babylon any damage. He delivered into my hands Nabonidus, the king who did not worship him.”

Most Bible scholars agree that Cyrus had later learned about this prophesy in Isaiah, which concerned himself, directly from the prophet Daniel (Daniel 6:28; Daniel 9:1, 2), either way we know that Cyrus had learned of this prophecy based on Cyrus’ decree which is documented in 2 Chronicles 36:23 and Ezra 1:1-4. The historian, Josephus, confirms this story of Cyrus in “The Antiquities of the Jews” Book 11: Chapter 1, and confirms that Cyrus did in fact learned about this prophecy which the God of the Bible inspired the prophet Isaiah to write:

“In the first year of the reign of Cyrus, which was the seventieth from the day that our people were removed out of their own land into Babylon, God commiserated the captivity and calamity of these poor people, according as he had foretold to them by Jeremiah the prophet, before the destruction of the city, that after they had served Nebuchadnezzar and his posterity, and after they had undergone that servitude seventy years, he would restore them again to the land of their fathers, and they should build their temple, and enjoy their ancient prosperity. And these things God did afford them; for he stirred up the mind of Cyrus, and made him write this throughout all Asia: ‘Thus saith Cyrus the king: Since God Almighty hath appointed me to be king of the habitable earth, I believe that he is that God which the nation of the Israelites worship; for indeed he foretold my name by the prophets, and that I should build him a house at Jerusalem, in the country of Judea.’

This was known to Cyrus by his reading the book which Isaiah left behind him of his prophecies; for this prophet said that God had spoken thus to him in a secret vision: ‘My will is, that Cyrus, whom I have appointed to be king over many and great nations, send back my people to their own land, and build my temple.’ This was foretold by Isaiah one hundred and forty years before the temple was demolished. Accordingly, when Cyrus read this, and admired the Divine power, an earnest desire and ambition seized upon him to fulfill what was so written; so he called for the most eminent Jews that were in Babylon, and said to them, that he gave them leave to go back to their own country, and to rebuild their city Jerusalem, and the temple of God, for that he would be their assistant, and that he would write to the rulers and governors that were in the neighborhood of their country of Judea, that they should contribute to them gold and silver for the building of the temple, and besides that, beasts for their sacrifices.”

Herodotus in Volume 1 of “The Histories” also confirms the fulfillment of this biblical prophecy in Isaiah 44:27, which alludes that the river into Babylon would be drained and used to take over the city:

“On the top, along the edges of the wall, they constructed buildings of a single chamber facing one to another, leaving between them room for a four-horse chariot to turn. In the circuit of the wall are a hundred gates, all of brass, with bronze lintels and side-posts…The city is divided into two portions by the river, which runs through the midst of it. This river is the Euphrates, a broad, deep, swift stream, which rises in Armenia, and empties itself into the Erythraean Sea.”

Babylon city

“At the rivers end of these cross streets are low gates in the fence that skirts the stream, which are, like the great gates in the outer wall, all of brass, and open towards the water…Cyrus on his way to Babylon came to the banks of the Gyndes, a stream which, rising in the Matienian mountains, runs through the country of the Dardanians, and empties itself into the river Tigris. The Tigris, after receiving the Gyndes, flows on by the city of Opis, and discharges its waters into the Erythraean sea.”

“Accordingly he put off for a time his attack on Babylon, and, dividing his army into two parts, he marked out by ropes one hundred and eighty trenches on each side of the Gyndes, leading off from it in all directions, and making his army dig, some on one side of the river, some on the other, he accomplished his threat by the aid of a great a number of hands, but not without losing the whole summer season. Having defeated the river Gyndes by dispersing it through three hundred and sixty channels, Cyrus, with Spring approaching, marched forward against Babylon. The Babylonians, encamped without their walls, awaited his coming.”

“In his distress either someone made a suggestion to him, or he himself came up with a plan, which he proceeded to follow. He placed a portion of his army at the point where the river enters the city, and another body at the back of the place where it comes out, with orders to march into the town by the bed of the stream, as soon as the water became shallow enough: he and his army then withdrew, and went to the place where Nitocris dug the basin for the river, where he did exactly what he had done in the past: he turned the Euphrates by a canal into the basin, which was then a marsh, on which the river sank to such a low level that the natural bed of the stream became crossable.”

“Hereupon the Persians who had been left at Babylon by the riverside, entered the stream, which had now sunk so as to reach about midway up to a man’s thigh, and entered into the city.”

The prophet Isaiah’s prophecy only scratches the surface of fulfilled bible prophecy and I am sure that you may have recognized that Cyrus foreshadows Jesus Christ as the Messiah, another person anointed by God, who sets the captive free (Psalms 68:18; Ephesians 4:7, 8). In like manner, the historical Antiochus Epiphanes in point 1C foreshadows the future Antichrist.

3) The Destruction of Jerusalem, the Temple and Expulsion of the Jews From Israel

Destruction of Jerusalem
The destruction of Jerusalem, the temple and the scattering of the nation of Israel is a well-established event in history. But did you know that this pivotal event in the history of Israel was actually prophesied by God through His prophets?:

Leviticus 26:33
And I will scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword after you: and your land shall be desolate, and your cities waste.

Deuteronomy 29:23, 28
And that the whole land thereof is brimstone, and salt, and burning, that it is not sown, nor beareth, nor any grass groweth therein, like the overthrow of Sodom, and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim, which the LORD overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath:
And the LORD rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as it is this day.

Micah 3:11, 12
The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? none evil can come upon us.
Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest.

Please note that the Book of Leviticus and the Book of Deuteronomy were both written all the way back in 1405 B.C., while this account in Micah was written around 700 B.C.! The future Roman emperor Titus, along with Tiberius Julius Alexander were the ones who besieged, conquered and destroyed Jerusalem and reduced the city and its temple to rubble in 70 A.D. (Levick, 1999; Cawthorne, 2005). The historian, Josephus, also wrote on the destruction of Jerusalem in chapter 1, section 1 of these works, “The Jewish War Book VII” and “The Jewish War Book VI” respectively:

“Now as soon as the army had no more people to slay, or to plunder, because there remained none to be the objects of their fury: (for they would not have spared any, had there remained any other work to be done:) Caesar gave orders that they should now demolish the entire city, and temple: but should leave as many of the towers standing as were of the greatest eminency, that is, Phasaelus, and Hippicus, and Mariamne: and so much of the wall as enclosed the city on the west side. This wall was spared, in order to afford a camp for such as were to lie in garrison: as were the towers also spared in order to demonstrate to posterity what kind of city it was, and how well fortified, which the Roman valor had subdued. But for all the rest of the wall, it was so thoroughly laid even with the ground, by those that dug it up to the foundation, that there was left nothing to make those that came thither believe it had ever been inhabited. This was the end which Jerusalem came to, by the madness of those that were for innovations. A city otherwise of great magnificence, and of mighty fame among all mankind.”

…And truly the very view itself of the country was a melancholy thing. For those places which were before adorned with trees, and pleasant gardens, were now become a desolate country every way; and its trees were all cut down. Nor could any foreigner that had formerly seen Judea, and the most beautiful suburbs of the city, and now saw it, as a desert; but lament and mourn sadly at so great a change. For the war had laid all the signs of beauty quite waste. Nor if any one that had known the place before, had come on a sudden to it now, would he have known it again: but though he were at the city it self, yet would he have inquired for it notwithstanding.”

Destruction of the Temple of Jerusalem by Francesco Hayez

As many as 1,100,000 Jews were slaughtered and 97,000 were taken as prisoners by the Romans (Cawthorne, 2005)! But one of the most horrible acts documented during this siege were the reports of cannibalism, where mothers actually ate their own children to survive the siege which had cut off all access to food for many days. This detail is recorded by Josephus in chapter 3, section 4 of the “The Jewish War Book VI”:

“There was a certain woman that dwelt beyond Jordan; her name was Mary; her father was Eleazar; of the village Bethezub; which signifies the house of Hyssop. She was eminent for her family, and her wealth; and had fled away to Jerusalem with the rest of the multitude, and was with them besieged therein at this time…She then attempted a most unnatural thing: and snatching up her son, which was a child sucking at her breast, she said, ‘O thou miserable infant! for whom shall I preserve thee, in this war, this famine, and this sedition? As to the war with the Romans, if they preserve our lives, we must be slaves. This famine also will destroy us, even before that slavery comes upon us. Yet are these seditious rogues more terrible than both the other. Come on. Be thou my food: and be thou a fury to these seditious varlets, and a by-word to the world. Which is all that is now wanting to complete the calamities of us Jews.’ As soon as she had said this, she slew her son; and then roasted him; and eat the one half of him; and kept the other half by her concealed…Upon which the whole city was full of this horrid action immediately; and while every body laid this miserable case before their own eyes, they trembled, as if this unheard-of action had been done by themselves. So those that were thus distressed by the famine, were very desirous to die: and those already dead were esteemed happy; because they had not lived long enough either to hear, or to see such miseries.”

These grim details of cannibalism was actually prophesied in the Bible – that the desolation in Israel would be so great and the siege would be so long that some would actually resort to eating their own children:

Deuteronomy 28:49-53
The LORD shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand;
A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor shew favour to the young:
And he shall eat the fruit of thy cattle, and the fruit of thy land, until thou be destroyed: which also shall not leave thee either corn, wine, or oil, or the increase of thy kine, or flocks of thy sheep, until he have destroyed thee.
And he shall besiege thee in all thy gates, until thy high and fenced walls come down, wherein thou trustedst, throughout all thy land: and he shall besiege thee in all thy gates throughout all thy land, which the LORD thy God hath given thee.
And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters, which the LORD thy God hath given thee, in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee:

These scriptures that I have quoted thus far are all Old Testament prophecies, but do you know that Jesus Christ actually prophesied this would happen? The truth will shock you, He has prophesied Jerusalem and the Temple’s destruction many times in the New Testament:

Luke 19:41-44
And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,
Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.
For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side,
And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.

Luke 21:20-22, 24
And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.
Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.
For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

Matthew 24:1, 2
And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.
And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

Even when Jesus was on His way to be crucified, He gave the women of Jerusalem this prophetic warning in Luke 23:27-29 that they and their children would suffer many atrocities within the next generation (about 40 years later). Keep in mind that Jesus prophesied this event somewhere between 30 to 33 A.D.:

Do not weep for me but for yourselves and your children

Luke 23:27-29
And there followed him a great company of people, and of women, which also bewailed and lamented him.
But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children.
For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck.

Matthew 23:37-39
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!
Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.

For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

Please note that Jesus actually revealed that the destruction that would befall Jerusalem was directly linked to the fact that the Jews had rejected Him as the Messiah in Luke 19:41-42 and Matthew 23:37-39. This detail is very telling, if such was the punishment for rejecting Jesus as the Messiah then how much more will the punishment be if we reject Him as Lord and Savior? In my opinion, when we reject or accept Him as Lord and Savior, the words of Psalms chapter 2 becomes fulfilled:

Psalms 2:12
Kiss the Son (Messiah), lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

4) The Return of the Jews to Israel

Youngsters in New Jersey two days after the declaration of the State of Israel

The Bible has prophesied the return of Israel to their own land, a prophecy which was finally fulfilled in 1948. The nation of Israel was literally born in one day, May 14th 1948. Please make a mental note that the Books of Isaiah, Ezekiel and Jeremiah were written between 740 to 680 B.C., 593 to 560 B.C. and 627 to 585 B.C. respectively:

Isaiah 66:11
Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.

Ezekiel 38:8
After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them.

Isaiah 43:5, 6
Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;
I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth;

Jeremiah 23:3
And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.

Israel was a wasteland before the Jews returned home, now it is one of the leading agricultural exporters in the Middle East exactly as the prophets Amos and Ezekiel, under the inspiration of God, suggested it would be. The prophet Amos had penned this prophecy in the Book of Amos around 755 B.C.:

Amos 9:14
And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.

Ezekiel 36:34, 35
And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of all that passed by.
And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden
; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited.

Israel once desolate now green

Look at the satellite images of Israel, they show green pastures while the majority of Israel’s hostile Arabic neighbors are like wastelands. Israel is actually one of the major exporters of fresh produce in the Middle East, has developed very advanced agricultural technologies and had its cultivated land area increase from 408,000 to 1.1 million acres from 1948 to around the year 2000 and is continually growing (Tucker and Roberts, 2008). The blossoming of Israel’s agricultural industry was so vast and rapid that the Arabs claim that the Jews bought the most fertile lands in the region – a claim which was debunked in the Peel Commission of 1937:

“The shortage of land is due less to purchase by Jews than to the increase in the Arab population. The Arab claims that the Jews have obtained too large a proportion of good land cannot be maintained. Much of the land now carrying orange groves was sand dunes or swamps and uncultivated when it was bought…there was at the time at least of the earlier sales little evidence that the owners* possessed either the resources or training needed to develop the land.” – Peel et al in “Report of the Palestine Royal Commission,” Part II: The Operation of the Mandate, Chapter IX: The Land, 1937. (*Arab owners who sold the land to the Jews)

Please keep in mind that almost 50% of Israel is actually covered by the Negev desert! This nation also produces 95% of its own food. With all that said, I think it is very safe to say that these are all examples of fulfilled Bible prophecies. I will now share with you the prophecies of the prophet Zephaniah, who wrote them in his book around 625 B.C.

Zephaniah 3:9, 10
For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent.
From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia my suppliants, even the daughter of my dispersed, shall bring mine offering.

First of all, Zephaniah 3:9 is very interesting because it prophesies that when the Jews return they would worship God in one language. The Hebrew language was dead for many centuries but was revived between the late 19th to early 20th century and became Israel’s official language. Recently, the largest wave of Ethiopian Jews, believed to be descendants of Queen of Sheba and Solomon, has finally returned to Israel – this is a progressing fulfillment of Zephaniah 3:10. I am sure that there are some reading this, who are still skeptical about this prophecy concerning the birth of the nation of Israel. If you are in that number, then I will soothe your skepticism, but can you answer this question?: Did you know that God actually prophesied when the Jews would return to the land of Israel? He really did and in order to unravel this proof, I will need to share a few scriptures with you:

Hosea 6:1, 2
Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.
After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.

Psalms 90:4
For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

2 Peter 3:8
But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

In Hosea 6:2, we learn that after two days God will “revive” the Jews, but the other scriptures actually seems to hint to us that a thousand years is like a day in God’s sight (Psalms 90:4; 2 Peter 3:8)! So, God is telling us that after two thousand years, but before the three thousandth year, the nation of Israel would be reestablished! Hosea wrote this prophecy in 710 B.C., while the nation of Israel was reborn in 1948 about 2700 years later! Considering all the prophecies which were interwoven in this point, I think it is very difficult to conclude that this was all just an elaborate coincidence or deliberate accident – this is just another example of prophecy fulfilled! This is evidence of the hands of the timeless God of the Bible at work.

5) The Division of the Land of Israel

The Balfour Declaration of 1917, the Paris Peace Conference in 1919 and the League of Nations with the British Mandate over Israel had all recognized that the Jews deserved the right to a Jewish state (Kassim, 1997). The most common misconception among people is the notion that the Jews stole the land from the Arabs, this is far from the truth, the Jewish National Fund actually bought most of it from the wealthy Arabic families via the Ottoman land Code of 1858 (Porath, 1977). In the 1920’s, 144 wealthy Arab families had owned and leased 3,130,000 dunams of the land to the Bedouins and Fellahin (Muslih, 1988). It was these same greedy wealthy Arab landlords who dispossessed the Bedouins and Fellahin in order to sell the land at high interest rates to buyers (Curtis, 1986). By 1948, over 80% of the land available for sale was already bought by the Jewish National Fund, the Palestine Jewish Colonization Association, and others with the rest of the land being wilderness and owner-less desert according to an official survey which was performed by the British government (Kark and Oren-Nordheim, 2001; Weitz, 1950; Curtis, 1986; British Mandate For Palestine, 1946). You may view this particular part of the report done in 1946 for free here (which covers the total land owned by large Jewish land owners) and this one here (which covers the total land owned by large and small Jewish land owners), both of which are conveniently hosted by an anti-Israel (pro-Palestine) website. You can also view this map which shows the land which was already bought by the Jews before 1945 here. Those in Israel who call themselves Palestinians are fully aware that the Jews have bought the land and thus have every legal right to it, the true reason for the hostility against the Jews is mainly motivated by Islam (even though the word “Palestine” never appears in the Qur’an). The truth is that there was never a nation called Palestine, the land was considered as a part of Syria, which for a long time was under the Ottoman Empire (Price, 2003).

UN with Israel in its crosshairs
But I digress, the United nations makes several proposals and many deliberations concerning Israel, one such example is the United Nations Resolution 181, proposed by the United Nations in November 29th 1947, which attempted to divide the land into three parts – a Jewish state, an Arabic state (which was rejected by the Palestinians) and Jerusalem. The city of Jerusalem was designated as an international territory which is not under the exclusive control of the Jews. Thus, paving the way for the Antichrist to carry out the future “Abomination of Desolation” in Daniel 9:27. The international designation for Jerusalem can be viewed as a direct fulfillment of the words of Jesus Christ, that Jerusalem will remain under the control of the Gentiles until His return:

Luke 21:24
And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

All British Territories With Dates from Annexation to Independence

Empire Timeline

With Great Britain ruling Israel since the early 1920’s and under the British Mandate for Palestine, it was at the heart of the deliberations which brought forth the UN Resolution 181 which is also known by the name “United Nations Partition Plan for Palestine” – please keep the word “partition” in mind while you read this point. Soon after the UN Resolution 181, the British empire began to crumble more rapidly than at any time before, with many of its colonies breaking up and becoming independent nations, like India within that very same year, Burma in 1948, Ceylon (now called Sri Lanka) gaining independence in 1948 and becoming a republic in 1972, Sudan in 1956, Malaysia in 1957, many of the West Indian colonies like both Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago in 1962, Australia becoming fully independent by 1986, and many others. Please take a look at the map above which shows the dates that these nations became colonies and when they became independent. Also the timeline chart above clearly shows that much of the dissolution of the British empire occurred after 1947 in accordance to the Zechariah 12:3 prophecy. Both of these charts have been acquired from this excellent website which analyzes the crumbling of the British empire here. Thus fulfilling the words of Zechariah 12:3, where those who “burden themselves” would be “cut in pieces.” Please keep in mind that this prophecy by Zechariah was written between 520 and 518 B.C.:

Zechariah 12:2-3
Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.
And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.

This prophecy has been fulfilled with the British empire but as long as nations offer propositions to divide Israel, God promises to “cut them in pieces.” Despite the case where the British empire was divided in a geopolitical manner, it is likely that this division, which God imposes, may extend into other areas like economic, social, spiritual, etc. This possibly explains why the hostile Arab nations, who hate Israel and wants to see her divided, are never united and are always in turmoil – this is perhaps God’s fulfillment of this prophecy on their own nations. In fact, those who find themselves divided have absolutely no excuse because God’s covenant with Abraham and the Jews states that He will bless all who bless the Jews and curse those who curse them:

Genesis 12:1-3
Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

The prophet Zechariah also wrote, “I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about…in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people.” Is this true in our modern day? Yes! As of 2013, 44 resolutions and 73 reports have been made by the United Nations against Israel, which is actually the most resolutions and reports slammed against any country in the entire world! You can find the report here. So, yes Israel is indeed a “burdensome stone” for “all people,” and when I mean “all people” I literally mean that, because the United Nations represents virtually every sovereign nation on the planet. On the other hand, Jerusalem is a “cup of trembling” in the sense that those “round about” (Israel’s neighbors – the Arab nations) know that they would be penalized by the United Nations if they wage all out war against Israel for fear of retribution. This “cup of trembling” can even refer to Israel’s security and advanced military might, it is actually the number 1 military power in the Middle East, against all odds. Don’t believe me? Take a look at this article here and feel free to confirm this matter with your own research.

Closing Thoughts

In light of all that I have shared with you, this fact is clear, it does not matter if you disagree with this God, or believe the Bible has many “so-called contradictions” (which are all easily resolved by using Google), or believe that it has many “scientific errors” (also quickly resolved by explanations found with Google), as long as this God proves that He is outside time then He is in fact the true God – the timeless God of the universe – beyond reasonable doubt:

2 Peter 1:20, 21
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Fulfilled Bible prophecy proves that the Creator God exists, that this Creator God is the God of the Bible and of course proves that the Bible is true. So, the so-called contradictions are really just merely misunderstandings which are often resolved by using a Strong’s Concordance, like this free one here. I already know that I am serving the true God and there is only one God, so all the others mean nothing to me. At this point I would imagine an informed Hindu or a Muslim saying, “Okay, there is only one God. What if the God of the Bible is the same as Shiva, Allah, etc? One God known by many names.” My response is simple, if this was ever the same God then your gods would have likewise made the effort to declare events before they occurred (Isaiah 46:9, 10; Isaiah 42:8, 9; Isaiah 44:7, 8). None of the other texts contain clearly fulfilled prophecies made by a being outside of time! They are just riddled with baseless claims. A small number of them claim to contain prophecies but none of these were ever fulfilled – there is a difference.

As a last-ditch attempt I would imagine a Hindu or Muslim saying, “My holy text has scientific proofs in it. Scientific facts prove that I serve the true Creator God.” First of all, every sacred text of the world religions claims to have scientific insights, even the Bible, however, such facts never prove that they were inspired by the same timeless Creator God that I serve. All the world religions agree that there are invisible spirit beings out there, who were created by this Creator God, and would have undoubtedly learned many scientific truths from Him (James 1:17). As such, it is entirely possible that some of these texts may have been inspired by some of these invisible spirit beings. Please research the supernatural phenomenon called “Automatic Writing” and look at the video testimony of this former Atheist, Peter Hockley, called, “Four Nights with the Devil.” He later left Atheism and joined the New Age and indulged in that particular practice. He was quickly tricked into believing that he was speaking with God but was actually speaking to a demon. I will embed that video testimony below along with two more which I am sure you will enjoy. But I digress, the Bible, which was indeed inspired by the Creator God, clearly tells us that the gods which the Gentiles (non-Jews) worship are demons and this includes the Allah of the Arabs, Shiva, Vishnu, etc. God had inspired Paul, a Jew who was converted by Jesus Christ Himself through a vision, to say these words on this matter:

1 Corinthian 10:19, 20
What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing?
I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.

The prophecies which I have shared are just a few of well over 2000 fulfilled prophecies in the Bible – some of which have infinitesimally small probabilities – virtually zero chance of being fulfilled – but were fulfilled precisely! Please if you are not a Christian then please accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. Bible prophecies are being fulfilled on the news on a near daily basis, please accept Him before it is too late and He will forgive all of your sins and will invite you into that final glorious kingdom of God which was prophesied in Daniel 2.

Woe Unto Us, For Judah’s Scepter Has Departed And The Messiah Has Not Appeared!

I have recognized that for some odd reason Christians usually hesitate to write material on Jews, possibly in fear of offending them. Nevertheless, God has burdened me to write this and a few spiritual attacks from the enemy has delayed me from doing so. If you are Jewish and reading this, please do not think that I write this out of hate, I only do this out of love and my desire to expose the truth. Ever since I was a child, I asked myself the question why do Jews reject Jesus – I have done my research – but I find the reasons for doing so are severely lacking in my opinion, so in this article I will provide the first of several undeniable pieces of evidence which proves that Jesus is the Messiah.

What I am about to share with you is perhaps one of the most powerful proofs that Jesus is in fact the Messiah, a proof which many Jews may have never even heard. In the Book of Genesis chapter 49, we read about Jacob  blessing each of his sons – most Jews are familiar with this story, some Christians are not. When Jacob arrived at the blessing for Judah he made this remark which also turns out to be an amazing prophecy (Genesis 49:1):

Genesis 49:8-11
Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise: thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies; thy father’s children shall bow down before thee.
Judah is a lion’s whelp: from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up?
The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.
Binding his foal unto the vine, and his ass’s colt unto the choice vine; he washed his garments in wine, and his clothes in the blood of grapes:

jacob blessing his sons

From Genesis 49:10 we learn that two things were to occur immediately after the arrival of the Messiah or Shiloh:

1) The Departure of the scepter of Judah or its identity: “The sceptre shall not depart from Judah…”
2) The Suppression of Judicial Power: “…nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come.”

First of all, the “sceptre” that we see in the prophecy, according to the Rabbis, was a “tribal staff” or “tribal identity,” this granted the Jews the power to render justice on those who broke the Mosaic Law and exact capital punishment on the guilty or “jus gladii” – a legal term which simply means “to seek the death punishment for a crime.” As such, this prophecy actually gives us a time limit for the arrival of the Messiah, so the Messiah would only arrive just before the Jews lost this special authority. Please keep in mind that this prophecy also eliminates anyone else from claiming to be the Messiah after these two above requirements have been satisfied.

From 606-537 B.C., Judah was made captive by the Babylonians for 70 years, which is commonly known as the Babylonian captivity. Judah had lost their national sovereignty but had retained its identity as a judge that can demand punishment (McDowell, 1979), this is confirmed within the Book of Ezra, where we learn that they had judges and individuals in place to uphold the law (Ezra 7:25, 26). Even while under the oppression of the Medo-Persians, Greeks and Roman Empire for the next 500 centuries, Judah had never lost its identity.

It was only until the very first quarter of the 1st century A.D., that something interesting happened – and I am not even referring to Jesus! Josephus, a 1st century Jewish historian, tells us in chapter 13 of his book “Antiquities of the Jews XVII” and within “The Jewish War,” that around the year 6 A.D. or 7 A.D., the son of king Herod, Herod Archelaus, was dethroned and exiled to Vienna, a city of Gaul. Herod Archelaus was then quickly replaced by a Roman Procurator named Caponius by Caesar Augustus.

I am sure that a Jew reading this would tell me, “Genesis 49:10 was not directed to the Messiah, and that this interpretation is one of many misinterpretations of scripture made by Christians,” – I must say that this is not only my opinion, but it is that of many Ancient Rabbis and trusted Hebrew literature. Within the Targum Yerushalmi, a well respected Hebrew translation and commentary on the Torah, we see this same interpretation of this verse,

“Kings shall not cease from the house of Judah…until the time of the coming of the King Messiah…to whom all the dominions of the earth shall become subservient.” – pg. 8 of Levy (1974)

With respect to the above quote, Herod Archelaus and his father, Herod the Great, were nominal Jews. Herod the Great, in particular was named “King of the Jews” by Augustus, therefore both son and father were the last Jewish kings before leadership was handed over to the Gentiles (Richardson, 1999). Within the Babylonian Talmud, Sanhedrin 98b, Rabbi Johanan said,

“The world was created…for the sake of the Messiah, what is this Messiah’s name? The school of Rabbi Shila said: His name is Shiloh, for it is written, until Shiloh come.'”

As such we see that the first requirement was indeed satisfied, but what about the second requirement? Is there any confirmation that Jews did indeed lose the power to uphold the law and serve capital punishment? Yes, according to Levy (1974), with this change in leadership the right to take the life of a law-breaker was stripped from the Sanhedrin and given to Rome. This was the custom of Rome whenever it seized absolute control  as Tacitus, a Roman historian, once said, “The Romans reserved to themselves the right of the sword, and neglected all else (McDowell, 1979).” Even the Jerusalem Talmud confirms that this indeed happened:

“A little more than forty years before the destruction of the Temple, the power of pronouncing capital sentences was taken away from the Jews.” – Jerusalem Talmud, Sanhedrin, folio 24

The following source is also quite telling, we find it within chapter 9 of Josephus’ book, Antiquities of the Jews Book XX,

“After the death of the procurator Festus, when Albinus was about to succeed him , the high priest Ananias considered it a favorable opportunity to assembly the Sanhedrin. He therefore caused James the Brother of Jesus, who was called Christ, and several others, to appear before this hastily assembled council, and pronounced upon them the sentence of death by stoning. All the wise men and strict observers of the law who were at Jerusalem expressed their disapprobation of this act…Some even went to Albinus himself, who had departed to Alexandria, to bring this breach of the law under his observation, and to inform him that Ananius had acted illegally in assembling the Sanhedrin without the Roman authority.”

This passage above not only gives us a clear confirmation that the Jews had lost the power to exact punishment but it even goes further to confirm that Jesus and James, His half-brother, were genuine historical figures! James was recorded to have been killed no later than 69 A.D. so this at least limits the departure of judicial power to no time after than that date. Of course, the informed Christian and Jew may know that the Bible actually provides additional confirmation for the quote from the Jerusalem Talmud, that the judicial power to serve capital punishment had already departed just before Jesus’ trial. We all know that the Jews needed to go to Pilate, the Roman governor of Judea, in order to get permission to execute Jesus for his “blasphemies” as the gospels tells us (John 10:30-33):

John 18:28
Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment: and it was early; and they themselves went not into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; but that they might eat the passover.
Pilate then went out unto them, and said, What accusation bring ye against this man?
They answered and said unto him, If he were not a malefactor, we would not have delivered him up unto thee.
Then said Pilate unto them, Take ye him, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death:

In spite of all this, one of the most significant parts of this prophecy was the events that unfolded once the Jewish leadership recognized that the scepter had departed and the Messiah did not appear to have arrived. It was such a sorrowful affair that was recorded in Chapter 4, folio 37 of the Babylonian Talmund and by Augustin Lemann in his book, “Jesus Before the Sanhedrin,” which reports a comment made by Rabbi Rachmon:

“When the members of the Sanhedrin found themselves deprived of their right over life and death, a general consternation took possession of them: they covered their heads with ashes, and their bodies with sackcloth, exclaiming: ‘Woe unto us for the scepter has departed from Judah and the Messiah has not come.'”
rabbis in sack cloth and ashes

Little did the Jewish leaders know that while they were mourning  on the streets of Jerusalem, that the Messiah was already a young man growing up in a carpenter’s shop in Nazareth by the name of Jesus. What is the conclusion here? Jesus must have been the Messiah without a shadow of doubt! The prophecy of Genesis 29:10 is remarkably specific and limits the Messiah’s arrival to just before the departure of the scepter of Judah and the Jewish power to set capital punishment – so specific that anyone who will claim or has claimed to be Messiah after these events would instantly fail this particular prophecy. I would imagine that Jews who still dare to reject Jesus, in spite of this article, would be quite open to the idea that God’s Law can become null or that His word can become void a false accusation which Jews often brand Biblical Christianity with. Please remember to take a look at the video which opens this article, because it powerfully explores the relationship between Judaism, Christianity and the Messiah:

Isaiah 40:8
The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

Isaiah 55:10, 11
For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Archaeological Evidence Which Proves the Bible is True

The video above is a presentation by Dr. Don Patton, a geologist and archaeologist who shares with us a few amazing historical and archaeological evidence that proves the Bible is true. In the past, I have had so many atheists and non-believers tell me that the Bible is a book of fairy-tales, if you ever heard someone making this ignorant claim, then this video and article will help to put that claim to rest. The goal of this post in particular is to expand more on what Dr. Don Patton says and provide updates on a few of the discoveries that he discusses. In the future, I will release more details and updates on the other archaeological proofs mentioned in this video as well as the other discoveries in Israel in separate posts.

2) Gilgal site at Jericho found
3) Fallen Walls of Jericho and Rahab’s House
4) The Prophet Balaam Inscription
5) Shiloh Plateau, the Ancient Site of the Tabernacle

1) Joshua’s Altar on Mt. Ebal

dr adam zertalProfessor Adam Zertal, chairman of Archaeology Department of the University of Haifa,  found this altar on April 6, 1980 on Mt. Ebal while doing an archaeological survey of the area. He was once an atheist, when asked about his find he replied, “We discovered this place, all covered with stones, in April 1980. At that time I never dreamt that we were dealing with the altar, because I was taught in Tel Aviv University – the center of anti-Biblical tendencies, where I learned that Biblical theories are untrue, and that Biblical accounts were written later, and the like. I didn’t even know of the story of the Joshua’s altar. But we surveyed every meter of the site, and in the course of nine years of excavation, we discovered a very old structure with no parallels to anything we had seen before. It was 9 by 7 meters, and 4 meters high, with two stone ramps, and a kind of veranda, known as the ‘sovev,’ around.” This altar is described to us in the following scriptures:

Joshua 8:30, 31
Then Joshua built an altar unto the LORD God of Israel in mount Ebal,
As Moses the servant of the LORD commanded the children of Israel, as it is written in the book of the law of Moses, an altar of whole stones, over which no man hath lift up any iron: and they offered thereon burnt offerings unto the LORD, and sacrificed peace offerings.

Deuteronomy 27:4, 5
Therefore it shall be when ye be gone over Jordan, that ye shall set up these stones, which I command you this day, in mount Ebal, and thou shalt plaister them with plaister.
And there shalt thou build an altar unto the LORD thy God, an altar of stones: thou shalt not lift up any iron tool upon them.

Exodus 20:25, 26
And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it.
Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon.

Adam quickly changed his beliefs and became a Christian a few years after he fully realized what he had found. Adam says that there is actually two altars on the same site, the one visible dates back around 1250 B.C. based on the pottery found, which puts it at the time of Deborah of Judges 4, during the period of the Judges. Beneath this altar, Adam found a circular altar made from unhewn stone about 6.5 feet across. This circular altar has been dated to be about 1405 B.C. which puts it just about 40 years after the time of the Exodus, which took place around 1446 BC. This circular altar has been found with the remains of kosher animals and thus eliminates any idea of it being a pagan altar. The date of 1405 B.C. was determined by the discovery of an Egyptian scarab of Tuthmose III (the scarab shown to the left in the picture below), dated to around the time of the Exodus. The scarab to the right below is actually quite rare, only five known parallels exist- one from Egypt, three from Israel and one from Cyprus. These two Egyptian scarabs found at the site are quite telling as they indirectly confirm the Exodus story exactly as the Bible says, because Mt. Ebal was one of the first settlements of the Israelites once they left Egypt,  finally crossed the river Jordan and came into the promised land.

egyptian scarabs found at mt ebal

Naturally, some skeptics have opposed the idea of this being the altar of Joshua with claims that this was a watchtower, this is simply not true, the site is lower down Mt. Ebal and was actually built into the mountain, watchtowers were often built at the very top of hills for a more advantageous view. Another big problem with this watchtower view is that the structure is simply too short to be a watchtower and the stones at the site are not sufficient to build a tall watchtower according to Hebrew standards. The structure is also built with unhewn or rough tones untouched by building tools, which is the exact specification outlined by Deuteronomy 27:4, 5 and Exodus 20:25, 26 for the building of altars.  The only reasonable explanation is that this is in fact a Hebrew altar and the many remains of kosher animals found at this site confirms this. Dr. Lawrence Stager, Professor of the Archaeology of Israel at Harvard University had this to say concerning the discovery, “If a sacrificial altar stood on Mt. Ebal, its impact on our research is revolutionary. All of us have to go back to kindergarten.” This may have to be the case as Adam Zertal made clear in his quote that he had only stumbled upon this altar because he was taught all his life that it was nonexistent.

In Adam’s book, “A Nation is Born: The Mt. Ebal Altar and the Beginnings of the Nation of Israel,” he goes into greater detail on the excavation of this altar and explains that the archaeological community hasn’t even debated his find with books but has opted to remain silent because of the serious implications of this amazing discovery. As Adam puts it, “If there was an altar on Mt. Ebal, the most ancient and the first Jewish or Israelite altar here. The meaning is that all the story of Deuteronomy and parts of the story in Joshua are scientifically true!” Another implication is that if this old part of the Bible is true then all the later events documented in the Bible must also be true as Adam puts it, “If this corroborates exactly what is written in that very old part of the Bible. It means that probably other parts are historically correct. The impact is tremendous.”

2) Gilgal site at Jericho found

Between 1996 to 2008, Professor Adam Zertal had been surveying regions in Samaria, specifically at the Jordan valley, in search of potential Israelite camps sites (each one called Gilgal in the Bible), which the Israelites would have used after crossing the Jordan river into the promised land. Adam has found several sites which all seem to bear the likeness of the sole of a right foot, which was perhaps intentionally done by the Israelites in response to the words of God in Joshua 1:3, “Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.” In the picture below you can see the “heel” of the sole of the “foot” at the left. This “heel” has been found to fit the dimensions of the tabernacle, the portable temple, used by the Israelites before establishing the more permanent tabernacle at Shiloh.

Gilgal site shaped as a foot

Joshua 4:19
And the people came up out of Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and encamped in Gilgal, in the east border of Jericho.

This particular Gilgal site near Jericho was the same site where the Israelite males born after the Exodus were circumcised, the first Passover in the Promised Land was celebrated there, and for six years it served as a base of operations during the time of conquest. This Gilgal site was discovered within a large enclosure by Professor Zertal and his team. Adam Zertal had this to say concerning all the discoveries that he made in the Manasseh area, “The nearly 1000 new sights explored create a new archaeological reality, which connects the books of Deuteronomy, Joshua and Judges to the territory where they have happened.”

3) Fallen Walls of Jericho and Rahab’s House

Jericho DI, DII, FThe site of Jericho, known today by the locals as Tell es-Sultan has been excavated numerous times. The first documented excavation was done by Charles Warren, a British engineer, who mistook the site as only being a defense structure in 1868, which is not completely wrong as the Bible does inform us that Jericho was well fortified (Joshua 2:5, 7). After other excavations at the site, it was only in 1930 that John Garstang, a British archaeologist,  discovered the walls and openly proposed that the site was the biblical Jericho that was conquered by the Israelites after arriving into the promised land:

Joshua 6:3-5
And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days.
And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams’ horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets.
And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him.

the city of jericho

John Garstang dated the walls to around 1400 B.C. which sets it precisely around the time that Israel entered the promised land. Kathleen Kenyon, one of the world’s most famous archaeologist, excavated this site between 1952  and 1958, only to conclude that the site was far too ancient to have been conquered by the Israelites in spite of the presence of pottery which links the site to the period of 1400 B.C. Carbon dating, which was done on the ashes and charcoals found at the site, has determined that the age of the site is around 1410 B.C. which confirms that this must be the city of Jericho recorded in the Bible. Apart from this there are many other pieces of evidence which confirms this as being biblical Jericho – the walls was described by the Bible as falling upon itself which is what archaeologists have determined (Joshua 6:5), the Bible was correct that people dwelled within the walls of the city which was confirmed by the excavations done (Joshua 2:15) and the city has many burnt remains indicating that it was burned exactly as the Bible says (Joshua 6:24).  In fact, Kathleen Kenyon, was amazed at the degree of fire destruction at Jericho by saying, “The destruction was complete. Walls and floors were blackened or reddened by fire, and every room was filled with fallen bricks, timbers, and household utensils; in most rooms the fallen debris was heavily burnt, but the collapse of the walls of the eastern rooms seems to have taken place before they were affected by the fire.”

Archaeologists have also found charred remains of grain within clay vessels at this site which was strange because  grain was precious at that period of time and also served as a currency, and if the city was invaded by invaders then all the grain should have been looted. Well, the Bible explains to us that all the contents of the city was dedicated to God and that even the grain remained untouched by the conquering Israelites (Joshua 6:17-19). Also the abundance of grain found suggests that the city was seized soon after the harvest time exactly as the Bible suggests (Joshua 2:6). In fact, there is a portion of the northern wall which for some odd reason still stands today and many strongly suspect that this wall may have very well been the home of Rahab, the woman who was saved during the fall of Jericho (Joshua 6:17, 25).

4) The Prophet Balaam Inscription

A Dutch expedition, led by Professor Henk J. Franken of the University of Leiden, at Tell Deir ‘Alla, Jordan on March 17th 1967, discovered a wall with two different sets of inscriptions which makes mention of Balaam, a non-Israelite prophet who was hired by Israel’s enemies to curse Israel. The inscription has been dated to have been made around the late 9th century to 8th century B.C. Three times in the first four lines of the first inscription, translated by J. Hoftijzer and G. van der Kooij in their book, “Aramaic Texts from Deir ‘Alla,” Balaam is referred to specifically as “Balaam son of Beor” exactly as Numbers 22:5 does and is described as “A divine seer” just as the Bible profiles him to be. Within the inscription, Balaam prophesies destruction upon his own people and as such this inscription is the very first extra-biblical example of a prophet in the Old Testament doing so. You may read excerpts of the translation of the Balaam inscription here. The following verses of the Bible tells us a bit about Balaam:

Numbers 22:2, 5, 28
And Balak the son of Zippor saw all that Israel had done to the Amorites.
He sent messengers therefore unto Balaam the son of Beor to Pethor, which is by the river of the land of the children of his people, to call him, saying, Behold, there is a people come out from Egypt: behold, they cover the face of the earth, and they abide over against me:
And the LORD opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto thee, that thou hast smitten me these three times?

balaam inscription

After the encounter with the angel, Balaam was coerced by God to bless Israel instead of cursing them (Numbers 22 to 24; Deuteronomy 23:5; Micah 6:5, Joshua 24:9, 10). However, after this blessing he still rejected God on account of his greed and the wealth that the Canaanite kings  gave him and actually seduced the men of Israel to commit sins against God to force God to punish Israel (Numbers 31:16; Numbers 25:1-3, 9; Psalms 106:28, 29; Revelation 2:14). Balaam was then later killed by Moses and the Israelites by the order of God according to Numbers 31:8. Although, Balaam had served foreign gods he made a prophesy that his own nation would be destroyed which was exactly what had happened. His prophesy was recorded in the following verses below:

Numbers 24:17-19
I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth.
And Edom shall be a possession, Seir also shall be a possession for his enemies; and Israel shall do valiantly.
Out of Jacob shall come he that shall have dominion, and shall destroy him that remaineth of the city.

Whether this “Star out of Jacob” was a reference to Joshua or to the coming Messiah, Jesus, who was a type of Joshua, this is not entirely clear, but the verses above are still quite intriguing. The present day country of Jordan, was once the nation called Moab in the days of Balaam, which backs up the biblical account of Balak, who was a king in Moab. The inscription also seems to suggest that Tell Deir ‘Alla maybe the site which the Bible refers to as Pethor (Numbers 22:5), the home of Balaam. While the story which was documented in the inscription is not in the Bible it serves as strong evidence to verify the existence of Balaam. This also opens wide the possibility that Balak, Moses, Joshua and all the other characters within these books of the Bible were real individuals.

5) Shiloh Plateau, the Ancient Site of the Tabernacle

Israel FinkelsteinKhirbet Seilun, was found to indeed be the place that the Bible refers to as Shiloh, which was once the capital of Israel for 369 years. The Talmud, a rabbinical text, informs us that during those years a more permanent structure was built to house the Ark of the Covenant at Shiloh (Zevahim 119).  This is the place where Eli served as priest, Hannah prayed, Samuel served and where Eli finally died. Soundings were first made to survey the area of Tel Shiloh in 1922 by Aage Schmidt. A Danish team led by H. Kjær and overseen by William F. Albright excavated the area from 1926 to 1932. A probe was then done by Sven Holm-Nielson and Marie-Louise Buhl in 1963. The biblical references to Shiloh and its purpose is recorded below in the following scriptures:

Joshua 18:1
And the whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled together at Shiloh, and set up the tabernacle of the congregation there. And the land was subdued before them.

Deuteronomy 12:4-7
Ye shall not do so unto the LORD your God.
But unto the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there (Shiloh), even unto his habitation shall ye seek, and thither thou shalt come:
And thither ye shall bring your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and heave offerings of your hand, and your vows, and your freewill offerings, and the firstlings of your herds and of your flocks:
And there ye shall eat before the LORD your God, and ye shall rejoice in all that ye put your hand unto, ye and your households, wherein the LORD thy God hath blessed thee.

Excavations, which were led by Professor Israel Finkelstein at Shiloh between 1981 to 1984, uncovered a heap of pottery that were dated to be around 1050 or 1000 B.C. which sets it to the time of the Judges of the Book of the Judges. Professor Finkelstein also located what may be the very gates of Shiloh which Eli, the priest, died in 1 Samuel 4:18. Excavations on 2006 and 2007, done just south of Shiloh has uncovered elaborate mosaic floors as well as several Greek inscriptions, one explicitly referring to another site near the foot of Tel Shiloh as the “village of Shiloh.” The Mishna, which contains oral Jewish traditions, shares this concerning the tabernacle “And in Shiloh there was no roof but a building of stone below and cloth above, and it was a resting place (Zevachim 14).” The picture below shows the specific location that Zeev Yeivin and Rabbi Yoel Bin-Nund (found on 1981 and 1982), proposed to have been the home of the tabernacle. It just so happens that these rocks outline an area which fit the dimensions of the tabernacle perfectly.

permanent tabernacle at shiloh found

The tabernacle was built out of wood and fabrics, exactly as God had specified in Exodus 26, and would not have survived the test of time, as such the site does not feature those materials. In spite of this supposed “lack” of evidence for the tabernacle specifically, Israel HaYom, an Israeli newspaper, has reported that holes had been found carved into the rock at intervals along the perimeter of the tabernacle, which may have been the places where the wooden beams which supported the tabernacle stood, exactly as God had outlined. Near the holes towards the North of Tel Shiloh, some structures were unearthed which confirms that this site was indeed used during the period of Joshua’s leadership all the way to the time of King David. One of the structures contained ceramic vessels as well as three large taboon clay ovens. In light of all these finds, Hananya Hizmi, staff officer for archaeology in the Civil Administration of Judea and Samaria, responded with this statement to the skeptics, “This is not something that was common in private residences and therefore we do not believe these structures served as family dwellings.” One of the latest finds at Tel Shiloh has been a Jewish-styled stone altar built near the foot of Tel Shiloh. The altar was found amid the stones of a wall dated to somewhere between 1200 B.C. to 600 A.D. Avital Faleh, administrator of the Tel Shiloh site, has theorized that the Byzantines had moved the altar which originally sat on Tel Shiloh to the southern side of Shiloh. This altar was found accidentally during a dig conducted by an archaeological staff officer of the Civil Administration of Judea and Samaria. The altar proves that religious ceremonies took place at Tel Shiloh and serves to confirm that this site was indeed the biblical site of the tabernacle.

stone altar at Tel Shiloh

“Shiloh yields some, but not all, of its secrets,” Israel Finkelstein writes, such words cannot be more true as even more evidence was dug up at the site. A broken clay pitcher was found in a bed of ashes, suggesting that a great sudden destruction may have fallen upon the site. Tazpit News Agency reports that, “The ashes found attest to a devastating fire that occurred at the site. The dating of the clay pitcher, 1050 B.C., correlates with the dating of the events depicted in Book of Samuel.” Israel Finkelstein has suggested that, “After defeating the Israelites, the Philistines apparently took advantage of their victory to press on up to the hills and burn Shiloh to the ground,” which may have happened around the time of the same events recorded in 1 Samuel 4. While the Bible does not clearly detail the destruction of Shiloh it has alluded to its destruction in a few passages (Jeremiah 7:12-14; Jeremiah 26:6, 9; Psalms 78:60).

broken pottery and ashes at Shiloh

Jeremiah 7:12, 14
But go ye now unto my place which was in Shiloh, where I set my name at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel.
Therefore will I do unto this house, which is called by my name, wherein ye trust, and unto the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh.

I would like to close this post with a few quotes from some of the most respected archaeologists in the world, the late William F. Albright, once said, “There can be no doubt that archaeology has confirmed the substantial historicity of Old Testament tradition (J. A. Thompson, The Bible and Archaeology [Grand Rapids, MI; Eerdmans, 1975], p. 5).” Nelson Glueck, after a lifetime of making several archaeological discoveries, confidently had this to say, “As a matter of fact, however, it maybe clearly stated categorically that no archaeological discovery has ever controverted a single biblical reference. Scores of archaeological findings have been made which confirm in clear outline or exact detail historical statements in the Bible.” It must be noted that both Gleuck and Albright were both non-Christians, yet they were forced to shamefully admit to the Bible’s historical accuracy. “After years of research, however, I believe it is impossible to explore Israel’s origins without the Bible. …Again and again we have seen the historical value of the Bible” – Professor Adam Zertal, Chairman for the Department of Archaeology at the University of Haifa, a former atheist, once gave that statement. I absolutely agree, archaeology has done nothing but to become an unlikely ally to prove the Bible. Ironically, it seems that the Bible has anticipated this assistance from archaeology, and I will show you how. In Joshua 24:27, Joshua actually stated that the very rocks of the promised land will become a witness for us all and that certainly seems to be the case now in these Last Days:

Joshua 24:27
And Joshua said unto all the people, Behold, this stone shall be a witness unto us; for it hath heard all the words of the LORD which he spake unto us: it shall be therefore a witness unto you, lest ye deny your God.

The Cross Hidden in the Old Testament

Above in this video Dr. Chuck Missler shows what might be one of the most amazing appearances of the Cross of Jesus Christ in the Old Testament. The Cross appears hidden within the Book of Numbers Chapter 2, centuries before the punishment of the crucifixion was even invented!

Numbers 24:5
How goodly are thy tents, O Jacob, and thy tabernacles, O Israel!

John 5:39
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

Proverbs 25:2
It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

The verses below contain descriptions of the four beings around God’s throne which Dr. Chuck Missler mentions in the above video:

Ezekiel 1:10-11
As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle.
Thus were their faces: and their wings were stretched upward; two wings of every one were joined one to another, and two covered their bodies.

Isaiah 6:1-3
In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.
Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.
And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

Revelation 4:6-8
And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.
And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.
And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.

four living creatures

If you are wondering about the profiles for the Gospels that Chuck mentions, they may be interpreted as follows:

1) Matthew presents Jesus as the Messiah, the King and begins with Abraham’s genealogy and presents Jesus as the “Lion” of the Tribe of Judah.

2) Mark presents Jesus as a servant, the one who will bear the sins of the world. A servant’s genealogy is considered to have no importance and hence none is given by Mark. Therefore he describes Jesus in a way to the “Ox” of Ephraim.

3) Luke presents Jesus as the Son of Man, an Old Testament term for the Messiah found in Daniel 7:13-14, starts off with His genealogy through Adam and focuses on Jesus’ humanity. Likewise Jesus here is described in the form of the “Man” of Reuben.

4) Finally, John expresses Jesus as the Son of God, focuses on the miracles of Jesus and Jesus’ deity. John has no genealogy because God has no beginning. Hence, John’s gospel reveals Jesus as the “Eagle” of Dan.

Now, when we combine the Gospels we see that all of them describe Jesus from four different perspectives with Jesus at the very heart of the four Gospels, identical to the arrangement of the four beings around God’s throne in Heaven. I hope this message blessed you!

Christianity vs. Atheism Debate Dave Hunt vs. Professor Christopher diCarlo

The video above is a debate that was held at All Saints Catholic High School, Ontario, Canada. The moderator is Peter Koropatwa who has a Master degree in Apologetics. Dave Hunt is a Christian apologist, speaker, and world renown author. Professor Christopher diCarlo is an instructor at the University of Ontario and is an outspoken activist for critical thinking, humanism and secularism. He was once a Roman Catholic who then became an Atheist.

The popular claim of atheists is that, “The Bible cannot be trusted, it is not a science book. Shouldn’t Science be the one to determine absolute truth (big ‘T’ Truth)?” Well my response to that is yes, the Bible can be trusted. I will admit it does not go into copious scientific details but when it talks about science it is always correct. I will demonstrate here 20 scientific points outlined by the Bible which Dave Hunt did not mention in his debate. I will warn Atheists this, if you navigate and read through all my points you will find it hard to cling to Atheism anymore:

20) Bible talks about Dinosaurs

1) The Earth is Hung By Nothing:

Job 26:7
He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.

This is interesting because  during the same time that Job was written many cultures around the world suggested that the world sat on elephants which all stood on a world tortoise (the Hindus) or that the Earth was held up by the titan god Atlas (the Greeks). The Egyptians even believed the world was suspended by five massive poles. In 1608, Sir Isaac Newton, a Christian, theorized that the Earth was suspended by nothing in space. Job was written over 3000 years ago, the fact that the world is hung by nothing was confirmed by Astronauts only in 1961.

2) Earth is Round:

Isaiah 40:22
It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in.

The Bible describes the Earth as a “circle,” we all of course know that the Earth is slightly spherical but there was no Hebrew word for “spherical” or “sphere.” The Hebrew word for “circle” used here is “Khoog.” God is omnipresent and from his perspective the Earth would indeed appear as a circle to Him at all angles. The Bible, while limited by vocabulary, still successfully showed that the Earth is like a sphere and I will explain how. If the Bible indicated that the world was a “flat circle” then, the Earth would have two shapes it would look like a “circle” in one view and also like a “line” (“flat”) in another view. However, the Bible only says “circle” which shows that the Earth has to be circular from every perspective which is a very clever way to convey the meaning of spherical in spite of the vocabulary limitation.

The Bible further refutes the “flat circle” idea when one considers what it tells us in Job 26:10:

Job 26:10
He hath compassed the waters with bounds, until the day and night come to an end.

The above verse clearly describes what we know as “terminators” in astronomy, which are a twilight zones which separates the day side and night side of planets. As such this verse confirms that the Earth is round in nature. Of course, I have one more proof to share with you, which further confirms that the Bible says the Earth is round:

Revelation 9:2
And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.

For those reading this, who thinks the Bible says the Earth is flat, think again! Because the Bible tells us that the Earth has a “bottomless pit.” What is a bottomless pit? In geometry, a “bottomless pit” is a term synonymous to “the center of a sphere.” From a sphere’s center all directions are up and hence theoretically fits the description of a bottomless pit. As such, we see that the Bible once again indirectly confirms that the Earth has a spherical nature. It must be noted that for every proof, it avoids the error of saying that it is a perfect sphere – so I am astonished at how God cleverly avoids this error. The fact that the Earth is round was also confirmed by Astronauts in 1961.

3) The Universe is Flat and Expanding:

Isaiah 44:24
Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;

Isaiah 40:22
It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in.

The Bible repetitively states that God stretches the heavens out  in Job 9:8;  Job 26:7; Job 37:18; Ezekiel 1:22; Isaiah 40:22; Jeremiah 51:15; and many more verses. The oldest sources of this fact in the Bible is over 3000 years old, but science has only recently discovered that the universe is expanding. Edwin Hubble in 1929, discovered that the universe is in fact showing signs of expansion. Scientists also believe that the universe is thin in one dimension, in other words, flat. I find this interesting because the heavens in the Bible is sometimes described as a “curtain” and we know that curtains can be stretched but more importantly is flat. I would go further on to say that the “curtain” and “tent” descriptions subtly show that the universe is also in fact finite as point 7) will show, as an infinitely long curtain or large tent is not possible.

4) The Sun has an orbit in Space:

Psalms 19:6
His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.

Scientists laughed at the above verse because it seemed to suggest that the sun moves around the earth, which we know is not true. But they failed to recognize that the motion is not relative to the Earth in the above verse but rather the “heaven.” Science have proven now that out sun has an orbit in space and is not stationary which is a very common misconception. The sun travels at about 600,000 miles per hour within a “circuit” exactly as described in the Bible.  It was Thomas Wright in 1750 who first suggested that the sun has an orbit which was further elaborated by Immanuel Kant in 1755. The book of Psalms made this claim over 3000 years ago! How did the author know this?

5) Pleiades and Orion’s Belt:

Job 38:31
Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?

This verse makes two points that a)  there are bonds between the seven stars of  the Pleiades and b) that the three stars of Orion can be “loosed.” The first point has been recently proven by scientists; there are gravitational forces between the stars of the Pleiades.  What we see as seven stars is actually a collection of 250 suns all bound together in the same orbit and drifting in the same south eastern direction in space. Pleiades are bound together much like a school of sardines in the ocean and precisely has the relationship that the Bible indicates. From Lick Observatory Dr. Robert J. Trumpler says, “The Pleiades stars may thus be compared to a swarm of birds, flying together to a distant goal.”

With respect to Orion’s belt, scientists have made calculations that in time the two right-hand stars Mintaka and Alnilam will approach to each other and form a naked-eye double.  While the third star, Alnitak, will eventually drift away to the east and thus “break the band” of Orion’s belt. Therefore this verse has a dual meaning to it; it is actually a fact and a prophecy at the same time.

6) The Anthropic Principle:

Isaiah 40:12
Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?

Isaiah 45:18
For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

The anthropic principle states that universe shows signs of design which seems to be tailored with mankind and all life in mind. This was the conclusion after a half century of astronomy and physics which shows that laws of physics and the constants display signs of fine-tuning to ensure that man can live. A simple example of this is the position of the Earth from the sun; not to far and not too close just right. There are many other examples of anthropic principle, for instance, one can look no futher than water. Water is the one of a handful of natural substances that when solid can actually float upon itself, a property which makes it possible for fishes to survive in frozen lakes under sheets of ice. This principle was first popularized by the comments of Robert Dicke in 1961, thousands of years after the Bible made this claim.

7) The 1st law of Thermodynamics:

Genesis 2:1, 2
Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

The 1st law of Thermodynamics simply states that energy cannot be created nor be destroyed; that the energy throughout  the universe is finite and fixed. Well the verse above in simple words infer the same meaning. It was Rudolf Clausius and William Rankine who first coined this law in 1850, thousands of years after the Bible indicated that the universe and its energy is finite and constant.

8) The 2nd Law of Thermodynamics: Entropy:

Psalms 102:25, 26
Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands.
They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:

The 2nd law of Thermodynamics state that entropy or decay is on the rise throughout the universe as energy is wasted and as matter is dispersed. This law is often accredited to Nicolas Carnot in 1824 . Once again the Bible presented complex modern science in relatively simple words and imagery.

9)  We live in a Digital Simulation!:

Hebrews 11:3
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

1 Corinthians 13:12
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

The Bible from the verses above when read carefully convey the meaning that this is not the real world; that we  are rather living in a fabricated reality, just like “The Matrix” trilogy. The fact is that scientists, specifically the quantum physicists, have determined that the universe is in fact a complex hologram or an elaborate digital simulation. They came to this conclusion after the double slit experiment and observing that electrons behave as a wave or particle depending on the influence of the observer of the experiment (termed  Wave Function Collapse). This is a truly fascinating discovery, I encourage you to watch this clip for more on this:

10) Air has Weight:

Job 28:25
To make the weight for the winds; and he weigheth the waters by measure.

It was always taught that air has no weight to it. However, the Bible verse above clearly indicates that it does. Science in ancient times classified air as an element called “Aether,” which is Greek for “fresh air,” this substance was for a very long time was assumed to be weightless. It was in 1640 that Evangelista Torricelli discovered that air in fact does have weight, which is exactly what the Bible says.

11) Light behaves as a particle and a wave:

Job 38:19
Where is the way where light dwelleth? and as for darkness, where is the place thereof,

It was only in the 17th century that men described light as being waves or particles. Christiaan Huygens was one of the first to propose the wave nature of light, which is confirmed by phrase “the way” in the verse above. On the other hand, Isaac Newton was the one who proposed that light exists as a particle which is also insinuated by the Bible’s use of the words “dwelleth” and “place” as if light has a fixed or stationary nature to it (locality). It is through Albert Einstein and the “Particle-Wave Duality” in the 20th century that both opposing theories became true; that light was proven to behave as a wave and particles.  Is it just a coincidences that the Bible got the nature of light right for both natures of light? I don’t think so, the odds of that would be astronomical, pun intended.

12) The Formation of Wind Patterns and the Coriolis Effect:

Job 38:24
By what way is the light parted, which scattereth the east wind upon the earth?

The Bible above obviously suggests above that the light creates the winds on the Earth. This is proven true by science: the hot air over sunlit places rises and cold air moves in to fill the gap, thus wind is produced. The jet stream was discovered by Wasaburo Oishi in 1920s. The most interesting thing about this is that at the same time the Bible indicated that light caused winds on Earth other cultures like the Greeks claimed that their god Aeolus blows upon the Earth to create winds. Strange enough, this same culture that produced such an absurd claim is the same one that provided the discipline of philosophy (from Plato, Aristotle and Socrates) still taught  today and accepted, while the Bible proven time and time again is rejected.

Ecclesiastes 1:6
The wind goeth toward the south, and turneth about unto the north; it whirleth about continually, and the wind returneth again according to his circuits.

The above verse clearly and accurately describes the Coriolis effect which explains the origin of wind pattern and more significantly defines them as having “loops” just as the Bible correctly uses the word “circuits.” The Coriolis effect was named by its founder Gaspard-Gustave Coriolis in 1835, however, the term was only applied  in meteorology in the early 20th century.

13)  Springs of the Sea:

Job 38:16
Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea? or hast thou walked in the search of the depth?

This above verse was for a very long time mocked and laughed at by skeptics until the 23 foot long submersible called “Alvin” with 3 geologists inside discovered hot springs at the bottom of the ocean in the Galapagos Rift in the Pacific Ocean. The springs were rich in Chlorine and minerals and its plumes extended as far as 13m high.

14)  The Water or Hydrologic Cycle:

Amos 9:6
It is he that buildeth his stories in the heaven, and hath founded his troop in the earth; he that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name.

Job 36:27, 28
For he maketh small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapour thereof:
Which the clouds do drop and distil upon man abundantly.

Ecclesiastes 1:7
All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again.

It is obvious to anyone with sense that these verses all perfectly describe what we call the Water Cycle. The Bible wrote this over 3000 years ago, long before this fact became popularized by Bernard Palissy in the 16th century.

15)  Anticipation of Microbes, Bacteria, Viruses and Diseases:

Leviticus 15:13
And when he that hath an issue is cleansed of his issue; then he shall number to himself seven days for his cleansing, and wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in running water, and shall be clean.

God establishes the laws of cleansing oneself with clean running water to the Israelites. At the same time this was happening, the Egyptians used oils and scents made from the burnt remains of plants and animals, that only masked the odor. So, Moses was not inspired by the traditions of men but by the wisdom of God Almighty. These practices was founded thousands of years before disease causing microbes like bacteria were discovered by Antonie van Leeuwenhoek in the 17th century. These cleansing laws were invented long before viruses were even discovered in 1892 by Dmitri Ivanovsky.

16) The institution of Quarantine Procedures:

Leviticus 13:45, 46
And the leper in whom the plague is, his clothes shall be rent, and his head bare, and he shall put a covering upon his upper lip, and shall cry, Unclean, unclean.
All the days wherein the plague shall be in him he shall be defiled; he is unclean: he shall dwell alone; without the camp shall his habitation be.

The above sounds as a carbon copy of the quarantine practices of our modern day. In fact, the Europeans used these procedures between 1348 to 1359 to combat the spread of the Black Death. In fact the word “quarantine” comes from the Venetian word “quaranta” which means “forty” which was the number of days that ships were required to remain isolated in order to avoid the spread of the Black Death. Informed Christians know the significance of the number forty in the Bible. If you are not aware of the significance of this number please read this. This is a clear instance where science has applied the teachings of the Bible – of course it will never admit that this practice originated from the Bible.

17) Life is in the Blood:

Leviticus 17:11, 14
For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.
For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh: for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof: whosoever eateth it shall be cut off.

The Bible once again proves a fact which is well accepted by science. The blood serves various purposes but one of the major ones being the means to deliver oxygen to the cells throughout the body via the red blood cells. Red blood cells were discovered in 1685 by Jan Swammerdam and hemoglobin, that facilitates the oxygen carrying property in blood, was discovered decades later. In fact George Washington , the first US president, who was suffering from a throat infection died  in 1799, because of bloodletting, an archaic and unbiblical medical “cure” practiced by guess who? The Greeks.

18) The Bible knew the ideal time for Circumcision and its benefits:

Genesis 17:12
And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed.

It is a proven scientific fact that the 8th day is the ideal day to perform surgeries in babies. The 8th day is the day where the prothrombin and vitamin K, both involved in the coagulation of blood, are at above average levels, making the cut heal faster. How can Moses possibly know this? Trial and error? With trial and error he would have had dead babies on his hands! Another interesting fact is that circumcision  has been shown to reduce the risk of STD transmissions by half! These are all remarkable proofs that the Bible is certainly inspired by an all knowing God; not man.

19) Electricity can send messages?:

Job 38:35
Canst thou send lightnings, that they may go, and say unto thee, Here we are?

The verse above is perhaps one of the most telling verses in the Bible, as it implies that electricity can be used to send messages. Guess what? The Bible is right once again! The very first electrical message was successfully sent by Francis Ronalds’ primitive electrostatic  telegraph which was perfected by Pavel Schilling, who made the electromagnetic telegraph in 1832. This may be considered as another prophetic verse.

20)  Bible talks about Dinosaurs:

Job 40:15-17
Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.
He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.

The above is a clear description of a dinosaur possibly a brontosaurus or maybe a titanosaurus. In any case, God must be describing a living animal which Job had to be familiar with. Some may debate that this may be an elephant or a hippo but this verse demands common sense, none of those animals have tails that remotely behaves or  resembles a cedar tree! Evolutionists will of course attack this verse as it makes the additional implication that mankind lived with dinosaurs as recent as Job’s time which was a little over 3000 years ago. Even if you deny the above verse there are still several other verses that describe dinosaurs even with known animals of today: Leviathan (Job 41:1; Psalms 74:14;Psalms 104:26; Isaiah 27:1), Unicorns according to the Bible sounds more like a dinosaur than the stereotypical mythical horse we know (Numbers 24:8; Psalms 92:10; Job 39:9-12; Isaiah 34:7) and Pterodactyls (Isaiah 14:29; Isaiah 30:6). More Dinosaurs scriptures ( Deuteronomy 32:33; Job 30:29; Psalm 91:13; Isaiah 34:13; Isaiah 43:20; Jeremiah 14:6).

Just to go a little more into Evolution, nothing takes God by surprise, the Bible actually makes a remarkable prediction that the Last Days will have false scientific ideas being taught:

1 Timothy 6:20
O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called.

I hope that you understand now that the Bible is indeed a text which is worthy of study, these are just a handful of biblical truths confirmed by science. Since the Bible is correct when discussing scientific matters then it can, by inference, be reliable when it discusses about God, and His plan to use His Son, Jesus Christ as the means to save humanity. We all need to accept God’s word. The Bible states that Jesus existed, Jesus claimed to be God in the Bible, therefore God does in fact exist and Christians serve a Living God.

Psalms 33:4
For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.

The Gospel Message Hidden Within The Genealogy of Adam

The video above is a must see bible study on the Gospel message that is tucked away within the names of the first 10 men of Adam’s genealogy. I encourage you all to please share this message to all your loved ones and especially your unbelieving friends and family.  People may believe it is strange that God would choose to hide these messages in the Bible. I will gladly reassure you that it is absolutely biblical for Him to work in this way, in fact, Jesus encourages us all to look for these things:

John 5:39
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

Proverbs 25:2
It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

This is the Gospel Message hidden in Genesis 5:
